Rancarr Parad
Character
Name: Rancarr Parad
Faction: The Silver Sanctum Coalition
Rank: Padawan/apprentice
Species: Human
Age: 18
Sex: Male
Height: 180cm (5'11)
Weight: 77kg (169lbs)
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown
Skin: White
Force sensitive: Yes
Strengths and weaknesses:
+ Balanced fighter; Rancarr is able to effectively use his lightsaber pike in both a defensive and offensive capacity, using his superior reach to keep opponents at a safe distance while attempting to back them into a corner and deliver a decisive killing blow.
+ Rancarr is gifted in the art of stealth, giving him the ability to infiltrate most places, evade capture, or escape from a losing battle (provided there is a suitably stealthy way out) with relative ease.
+ His single bladed lightsaber pike has a blade almost twice as long as the one you would find on a regular one, increasing his reach advantage even further and making attempts to strike the shaft more difficult (and potentially much more dangerous).
+ As a former scavenger Rancarr is quite good at repairing various vehicles and equipment, especially shuttles and the like.
- His weapon's greatest strength is also it's biggest problem. The long blade of his pike makes the weapon even more ineffective in enclosed spaces than it normally would be.
- Rancarr can be a little too eager to rush off into battle at times and fails to take in the bigger picture unless someone else is around to rein him in. This means that it's not uncommon for him to be forced into a retreat as a result of rushing into a situation where he is blatantly outmatched.
- Rancarr's lack of real training in the use of the Force means he lacks any real understanding of his own abilities beyond what little his mother knew and what little he could manage himself (basic abilities such as telekinesis as such) meaning that even for a Padowan he still has much to learn about the Force and how to use it.
Appearance: Rancarr has long brown hair and a small crescent shaped scar on his forehead along with a few other small scars elsewhere. He is normally dressed in typical Jedi attire but has a near black hood. He has a rather short, well groomed beard and will often spend time making sure its appearance is to his liking. He carries his family's ancestral lightsaber pike, the blade, nearly twice as long as that of a normal pike, is of a dark orange colouration. It also has a shaft/handle made of Mandalorian Iron to resist being struck by a lightsaber.
Bio: Rancarr was born and raised on a ship belonging of a group of scavengers. Rancarr spent most of his childhood moving from planet to planet, salvaging what they could in the local area before moving onto the next planet after a couple of weeks.
Despite being scavengers by trade, his mother's side of the family had a history of Force sensitivity and as such also had a long history with the Jedi and, hidden away on the ship, was a lightsaber pike which had been handed down through the generations along with the knowledge of how to wield it. Though neither of his parents were parents were Force sensitive themselves they discovered that their son was at an early age and decided that rather than reveal his abilities they would instead keep them secret and train him in how to wield the weapon of his ancestors first.
Over the next few years Rancarr would be taught how to wield the ancestral pike by his mother. Despite having no previous training in how to use the Force, his ability to wield it nonetheless meant that he quickly learnt how to use the weapon and by the time he reached adulthood he was a very skilled duelist. When he was 18 Rancarr's mother handed him the weapon, along with a weathered set of old Jedi robes, telling him that she had taught him everything she knew and bested her in every aspect. She then told him that if he was to improve his skill as a duelist and receive proper training on how to wield the Force properly he would have to seek out the Jedi and find a proper master. With that, Rancarr would leave the ship he had lived on his whole life, leaving aboard an old Nu-Class Transport that they had salvaged and repaired some years before, and going in search of the Jedi and a proper master.
Eventually he would encounter Jedi Master Shmi Labooda and become her apprentice, accompanying her to the planet of O'reen in order to aid a resistance movement there.
Ship: Old Nu-Class Transport. Painted blue and orange. Has 2 of the laser cannons removed due to being damaged when it was salvaged.
