R2-T4F
R2-T4F, also referred to as Taffy, is an R2-series astromech droid manufactured by Industrial Automaton with masculine programming. Created by the Galactic Empire to act as recon, R2-T4F had severe modifications to both its data probe and life-form scanner.

R2-T4F was an astromech prized by the Empire, with modified equipment designed to facilitate the discovery of opposing factions. While astromechs are primarily used as service and repair droids, R2-T4F was treated almost like a bloodhound, leading groups of troops to the hideouts of rebels.
Following the destruction of the Death Stars and the subsequent victory of the New Republic, R2-T4F was placed in a self-induced stasis, powering down for the several years that would follow under the New Republic's rule.
When it awoke, an overgrown T4F had been discovered by members of the Resistance, countless years after it had powered down - and with a memory wipe, the droid's recon skills were used against the First Order until its separation during a mission.
Now the droid uses its role as a scout to follow civilisation as it flourishes, somewhat intrigued by how the new world adapts, as R2-T4F tries to find a new purpose in life.

Despite its role at the frontlines, R2-T4F was used for support, a tool to narrow down missions, and not as a combatant. Once it had done its job at finding intel, the droid would know best to not interfere in a firefight. Being an astromech, T4F's main weakness is its laughably low damage output and its vulnerability when face to face with non-droids.
Having said that, R2-T4F is a much more skilled droid than most R-series astromechs, given its large array of equipments and modifications.

R2-T4F's data probe had been modified to access a much higher level of intimacy when interacting with ports. The droid was able to tell when it had last been used, access the databanks of the system it was connected to, and effortlessly alter any programs intertwined with it. Not only did this give T4F an insane amount of intel, it also made it an incredibly viable hacker.
R2-T4F's life-form scanner had also been modified. Designed with a heat signature, the droid was able to give periodic bursts of scans that detected beings around it for up to 76 meters. The scans allowed the droid to see enemies through walls, and its advanced photoreceptors were able to lock onto detected targets.
While not as significant, R2-T4F's electro-shock prod was also slightly tweaked, allowing its burst of electricity to act as a mild EMP. This proved effective against machinery, and while it worked on life-forms, it was no where near as powerful, and incapable of damaging them for much.
