- R2-D2 memory - The quirky droid has its memory intact, making it quirky, brave and intelligent as usual. Intelligence is its greatest strength and he can use his surroundings to beat larger foes if necessary. Examples of his feats include ejecting out its own oil and combusting it to destroy enemy droids in the past.

R2-D2. He was often referred to as Artoo by his original master, Luke Skywalker. Arguably the most famous astromech droid in the whole galaxy, R2-D2 never had a full memory wipe despite its age. Unlike his other counterpart, C3-PO, R2-D2 was courageous, independent and loyal to the causes he believed in. He served Anakin Skywalker when the chosen One was still a boy, accompanying Anakin to help him destroy the Droid Control Ship, liberating Naboo. Later on, he continued to serve the Rebellion by carrying Princess Leia's message and the Death Star plans to Obi Wan Kenobi, one of the last few Jedi in the galaxy at that time. The droid successfully brought the Death Star plans to the Rebellion, allowing his new master Luke Skywalker to destroy the superweapon.
His other adventures included accompanying Luke Skywalker to meet Master Yoda, rescuing Han Solo keeping Luke's lightsaber hidden in his compartment and giving it to Luke during the rescue and participating in the battle of Endor. He also saw the building and destruction of Luke Skywalker's new Jedi academy and kept the map to Luke's hidden location. He later revealed it when BB-8, a Resistance droid bumped upon him and asked him about the map.
As the years passed, the story of heroes and legends were lost in time. Somehow, the spunky droid remained with the Rebellion or the Resistance as a symbol of help throughout the years before finally found himself being trapped in an unknown outpost in the reformed Alderaan. He powered down in low power mode again to conserve his power as centuries passed, possessing enough power to somehow reveal himself to Mariya when she stumbled upon the base. No doubt it was a calculated act that he had planned long ago to be discovered by someone.
