So the First Order in Star Wars Canon (not SWRP) used Quintessence as a planet destroying weapon. How would one balance the use of Quintessence as the main power supply for a ship, or is it even allowed to use it for such?

It can be done, Sasori has streamlined the use of such a power source for their fabrication and self sustaining technologies as well as general power sources. Our Sasori Iso-Didact may be the best example of balancing it. Though keep in mind we also used two other components Kyberite which amplifies energy and Sleg which exponentially increases energy output so a little dark energy becomes a massive power source. Sleg is trademarked by Sasori.

The same way you could create a hypermatter bomb and yet it's (hypermatter) used as the main power source for most Destroyer-sized ships, use it as a power source and don't use it as a planet-destroying superweapon.
