Materials:
  • Crystaline cube matrix
  • Electronics
  • Ersteel SCLA outer shell around the brains electronics minus the connecting ports.
  • Quick attachment points & interfaces.

SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Solid state droid brain
  • Variable size, ranging from a small 10.16cm cube, up to a meter cube.
  • Is in a self contained unit. Allowing easy installation, and recovery from the field.
STRENGTHS
  • Crystalline Nature: Made from a crystal matrix the droid brain is quite robust. The matrix is made to store light data along with its magnetic spin. So two bits per photon.
  • Data Safety: The data being light means empty & Ion doesn't destroy the data. Just disables or destroys the interfacing components.
WEAKNESSES
  • Power Based: Without power the brain can't process the light data points nor read & write new data.
  • Harmonics: Everything can be vibrated apart, the QDBM is no exception. Its range is just smaller than not.
DESCRIPTION

Tel'Alith labs had learned a lot in the art of precision force machinery being used to create other machines. With the creation of the QDBM the engineers behind it began to wonder if they could create a droid brain that used light to read and write with photon polarity as a second bit per photon. So before the force droid brain was even done the tram used the same force imbued machines to create a crystal lattice that could hold light & do computations. The first four years of test were fraught with hurdles & snafus. Leading to at one point a set back of a third of their project.

But the team persisted in their quest. Working via trial and error the team pressed on. Using an early droid brain of the QDBM to help process problems lead to a slight shift in the project. The designing of an outer shell that would allow the brain to be recovered in the field after a battle. This brought forth the worry that the droid brain could be captured and then reverse engineered. The team leads mulled over the options and came to the conclusion that the droid brain if captured would hack the captors, linking up with other droid brains to do the task. Finally after almost a decade in the R&D labs the droid brain that ran off of light was finished. With is durable shell complete, the task of finishing the light based droid brain OS.
