Akio Diachi

Manriki-Chrome.jpg

Intent: A personal Weapon for Akio Diachi
Development Thread: Recovering the Armory, Part 4
Manufacturer: Akio Diachi imbued it, the manriki itself was crafted by an unnamed NPC
Model: None
Affiliation: Personal
Modularity: None, just appearance when appropriate
Production: unique
Material: Force Imbued Quadranium steel
Classification: Chain whip/Manriki Gusari
Size: One and a half hands
Length: 1.8288 meters
Weight: 4.6 kg (See Special features)
Special Features:
--Force Imbued: This weapon is Force imbued and as such, it has a few special qualties:
++Lightsaber proof
++Blaster proof
++Attuned to Akio: Akio Diachi attuned this weapon to himself so that it is more receptive to his touch and command. You could say he gets a "bonus" when wielding this weapon in his hands. It feels lighter to him, but still feeling just as heavy as normal for others. Though it weighs 4.6kg, to Akio it feels as if it weighed half of that when using it or carrying it.
++Stun: While this weapon specifically does not stun anyone, when the user channels the Force through it to stun a person, it is more reactive to this. This weapon does not automatically stun anyone, it only amplifies the user's ability to do so on contact.
++Combustion: much like the stun quality above, when the Force is channeled through it with the intent to cause combustion, it aids in causing spontaneous combustion to its target per the Force power. Just like the stun quality above, this does not automatically cause combustion it only amplifies the user's capacity to do so on contact. More over, this ability is ineffective against living targets.

Strengths:
++Attuned to Akio: The Chiss finds an easier time wielding this weapon than an average fighting chain
++Force Imbued: The Force powers flowing through it cause this weapon to amplify the user's powers. While this primarily applies to Force Stun and Force Combustion, this has a slight affect on other Force-related skills.
++Easy to conceal/carry: This weapon is visually easy to conceal and carry. This was one of the early bonuses of this weapon in Japanese history. Carrying it is as simple as wrapping it around your waist and tucking it under your shirt.
++Grapple bonus: This weapon was designed to be great at grappling and disarming opponents, ending fights with a less than lethal result.
++Non-lethal damage: Its easy to use this weapon on someone without marring them for life or removing limbs.
+/-Specificity: The Quinmalae is unable to amplify both "stun" and "combustion" at the same time. The user must specifically designate which one they are channeling through the chain otherwise the energy is canceled out and the action is pointless.
Weaknesses:
--Force Aura: this weapon's force aura is loud and therefore difficult to conceal towards those who are sensitive.
--Attuned to Akio: If the Chiss needs to hand this weapon off to someone else or gifts it for their aid, they will not be able to utilize its Force Abilities
--Gangly: Being as long as it is, even with its bonus, this weapon can be rather cumbersome.
--Training: Using this weapon requires extensive training due to its exotic nature.

Description:

The Manriki is an ancient weapon that few remember or use. Only the most dedicated in training and the most gifted in coordination, stamina, and skill may use. Its benefits were many, its ease of concealment and ability to grapple effectively being two primary ones. However, as the galaxy evolved, the manriki found itself on the outskirts, only used by those of exotic determinism with the highest of dedication to their arts. Assassin cults, covens, and eccentric force users managed to keep the art alive in the shadows as they practiced the use of this rare weapon.

Amid his childhood, raised with the other initiates in the assassins, Akio learned to use this rare weapon. In due time through his wanderings through the Galaxy, the Blue Pilgrim found himself crashed on a strange, savage planet. Here he was confronted with a massive rancor the locals only called 'Darvog' their term for devourer. This monster prowled the jungle, savagely consuming and ruling its lands. Akio needed the local's help to find some of his compatriots who had been lost in the jungle, so he struck a bargain--in return for slaying Darvog, the local tribe would help him find his own.

The former assassin convinced one of the locals to sell him the manriki, which he in turn imbued with the training that Matsu Ike had given him. With the aid of this weapon, the Chiss slew the monsterous Rancor in a deadly battle of the ages. When it was completed, he named the weapon Qoinmalae, the Minnisiat term for "Slayer."

Sorry for the delay. Couple points for clarity:

All his powers, or just the stun and combustion things?

Good, but if you're basing this off a Force-imbued blade, others will find it difficult or impossible to use the weapon's special Force nature. Thoughts?

Though this isn't alchemy, it's comparable, and alchemy generally makes things quite a bit heavier. A sense of lightness isn't an effect I've seen, at least not off the top of my head. I'd consider this a special attribute to the same degree as the stun thing or the combustion thing, so maybe cut it from 1/4 to 1/2.

I like this.

Can you specify that this can't enhance both powers at the same time?

No worries, I know y'all got a lot of subs right now. :)

Edited those things. I changed the weight modification to half, specified both cannot be used at once (stun and combustion), changed attuned to Akio to only Akio for the Force Abilities, and said the Force Imbuedment effects are "mainly Combustion and Stun" but nominally for others.
