Description: The QH1 Holographic disguise matrix is designed as a lightweight, portable disguise that can alter the user’s appearance. The QH1 is a small box, seven centimetres in length, but the internal wiring and devices can be fitted to a range of shell casings and is generally placed within a heavy necklace, though it can also run within the collar of a shirt.

When activated the QH1 projects a hologram around the user’s head, projecting a new appearance. The facial expressions of the hologram will match the user and is remarkably lifelike. The unit has enough battery for six hours of continued operation, and can store up to three different faces.

There are several weaknesses to the QH1, and it is not intended as a long term disguise. Errant stands of hair can emerge from the hologram and if very different in colour can appear out of place. The unit normally compensates, but it is not perfect. Obviously if the user’s face is touch, someone will notice their hand passing a few mm to cm (depending on disguise and user’s facial shape) through the hologram.

As the hologram only covers a user’s face, it cannot disguise an individual as a species with a vastly different body shape, and hands must be covered if changing skin tone. Overall, this unit is useful in a pinch and has saved the lives of many agents, however a more conventional approach to disguise may be more effective and agents in deep cover may be better served by appearance altering surgery.
