Prowling (Aeon Caedus)

I had stalked the boy for several blocks now. Coruscant's Lower City was secluded at this time of night, which made it a perfect hunting ground. This particular prey had a strong scent. Finally, he turned down an alleyway. It appeared that he lived in the bottom apartment of this building and was unlocking the door. He looked up to see me at the end of the alley. "Um,can I help you ma'am?" He asked me. In the next moment, I had him pinned to the wall. He was stunned beyond words. I covered his mouth for good measure. Leaning into him, I could smell his blood so strongly that I could barely think. "I'm sorry. But... I need this," I whispered to him. Then, I sank my teeth into his neck.

He felt a presence within the Force, and it wasn't the Bogan Aura that was usually given to Dark Siders, no. It was something else, and he moved towards it. Through the Force he could sense the anxiety and fear of someone just as he turned the corner and looked down the alleyway.

Only to see a woman kissing a man, and he almost wondered why he was scared, when he saw her move away from his lips and insert them into his neck. It was quick and clean, and the boy had no chance to stop her, so Aeon Caedus walked down the alleyway towards the woman.

"Enjoying yourself?" He asked with an amused look upon his face. He had already determined it was too late to save the poor fellow.

I looked up to see the stranger, surprised. I wiped the tendrils of blood from my mouth and looked down at the boy. So young. Why did he have to be so young? My expression was pained as I gently laid him on the ground. "I really am so sorry," I said to him, closing his now hollow eyes. I turned to the stranger. "I realize what you have seen must be very upsetting. But you must understand that it was necessary. I needed his life in order to sustain my own," She explained.

He nodded his head and when he stopped he tilted it to the side. He had stopped approaching her once he was a little less than ten feet away, and he placed his hands upon his hips when he looked her up and down. "I'm not upset that you killed him, I'm curious as to why you would need to drain the whole body of life?" He asked, and then he started to approach her again.

"What are you?" He asked when he was a little bit closer.

I began backing away from him, knowing that he might be here to slay me. As I did so, a shaft of light from a nearby sign illuminated my rustic gold eyes. they appeared to glow as I spoke. "I am a monster," I said quietly.

"You're hardly a monster." He said and he shook his head when she started to back away from him. "Stop moving, I'm not here to harm you." He bit out with an irritated sound to his voice. It was like one of those scenes out of the holofilms, except this time, he was in one of them. Unfortunately, it wasn't an action film, it was more like drama.

He snorted at his own joke.

"I can help you."

Definitely drama.

I crossed my arms. I'd heard that so many times before. "I'll help you", or, "There's no need to be afraid". In the end, they'd either tried to curb her appetite or kill her. "As convincing as that sounds sir, I believe that I will be fine. But thank you nonetheless." I said, attempting to pass him.

He let her pass him until he grasped her arm and spun her around to face him. "When I say things to people, I don't mean my words lightly." He said with a tired sound to his voice but his eyes were hard.

"I will teach you to have restraint, to consume enough to live, rather than all of the source."

He never let go of her arm.

I stared at this man, this stranger. His grip on my arm was iron. My eyes grew cold. "Sir. Please remove your hand from my arm," I asked flatly through my teeth. I didn't care much for fighting, but if I was forced to, I would.

"Repeat what I said to you previously." He bit out. He was getting tired of this woman already, the grip on her arm was with his left, his cybernetic arm, and he loosened his hold upon her arm ever so slightly, but still tight to be insistent.

"And then accept."

I glared at the man. "You will teach me to have restraint, to consume enough to live, rather than all of the source," I hissed. "I accept, as it appears my other option would result in a very ugly mess."

"Good." He said and he let go of her arm, and he stared straight into her face. "What's your name?" He was actually curious if he was going to have a...Apprentice so to speak now.

"The new government of the One Sith would have me known as Darth Phobos, you may call me Aeon, if you'd like."

I rubbed my arm a bit once he released me. "You may call me Mivala, Aeon." I said to him. I didn't care for titles, nor did I ever use them. They were just fancy names used for publicity.

"Are you fine, Mivala?" He asked while he looked her up and down, from the bottom to the top with quick glances and then letting his own frosty gaze rest upon her own orbs.

He extended his hand out for her to take, the arm that was real.

I raised my eyebrows, my eyes looking tired. "Yes," I said. Cautiously, I took his hand. Whatever game he was playing, I couldn't let my guard down.

His thumb brushed over her hand gently as she took his hand. He inclined his head politely with an amused smirk and he said, "how long have you been doing that?"

I sighed. "In general, over 200 years. Here? Only every once in a while. I feed every few weeks, and move on afterwards."
[member="Aeon Caedus"]

"You do not enjoy doing it?" He questioned as they walked through the streets, his gaze was upon her face to try and gauge a reaction to the question.

I looked sad for a moment. "No. I do not relish in the thought that I must kill to live. Especially when my victims are as young as my last," I said, referring to the boy whose body still resided in the alley behind them. A victim so fresh, so new to life. It was a horrible thing to take him from it.

"Then I'll let you practice upon me." He said softly. "You will be my Apprentice, and I will teach you restraint." He finished and stopped to look at her.

"This isn't a negotiation."
