Solar Panels

Maneuverability Rating: 3
Speed Rating: 2
Hyperdrive Class: None

Strengths:
Numbers - This starfighter excells in combat when it is in large groups. More, accurate, weapons fire means less fighting time.
Possible Disorientation - When grouped together, the Cloud-class can possibly disorientate enemy fighter pilots or even reduce their vision by mass laser fire
Weaknesses:
Light Armor - The metal used for the ship has decent defense, but it is thinly used. Any more and the fighter may not even take off
Power Consumption - The ship only has Power Packs to allow it to take off and land. Without the Solar Panels supplying power to weapons and thrusters, the fighter has extremely limited flight time, especially in Atmosphere. The Solar Panels can charge faster than power can be consumed, unless engaged in a rapid firefight
Weapon Overheat - The Ls-1 was very prone to overheating. This can occasionally help power balance, or leave the fighter open for attack.

Description: The purpose of the Cloud-class Swarm-type was solely out of preference. The Swarm-types model was out of a likeness for the original prototype designs of the original TIE Fighters. It is very combat-limited, its strength mostly centered around being grouped together with other fighters and swarming en masse on the enemy target. Otherwise, they are extremely weak to enemy fire, especially to small bumps to the hull. If one is damaged, it is unlikely to return to its hangar. It's lucky if it lands with the pilot alive. The design of the fighter is extremely fragile; within gravity locations, it takes a significant amount of fuel and power to take off and land, and puts an incredible amount of strain on the few and small thrusters it has.

A under-armed, somewhat weak interceptor with a number of clear weaknesses, that fits in at two-to-one with limited replacements. I see no real issues here, and I love the concept.
