Project Vanguard (Lucerne Labs Tier V project)

Premise: Bio-ships are an established concept in Star Wars and in Star Wars Chaos, but they many don't seem to be well-accepted in the mainstream because they are too foreign that they don't fit, or they tend to lean towards by so unconventional and unusual that they draw complaints of being over-powered or abused (like some Vong ships).

Project Vanguard will my attempt to then to make a cyborg ship lie that uses many standard pieces of ship techology, but combines it with some organic technology (in part because of my profession) to make something that'll fit in more easily with conventional starships yet still offer some unique advantages from bio technology.

From an in-universe perspective, some of this will be roughly based on Sekot Personal Starship and other obscure biotech technologies such as the Duros Bio-Comp 1000. Entirely from an OOC perspective, this will be more in the vein of the Cylon basestars and raiders from the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series.

Planned components:

Ship Armor Underlay: limpet teeth matrix with shear-hardening fluid flowing within the free space. High tensile strength of teeth & shear-hardening fluid help protect against kinetic penetration. Fluid may be used to distribute heat over a wider area to help protect against thermal/energy weapons. Manufactured in panels.

Ship armor: Naturally manufactured sheets of something like Crystadurium plating using genetically modified Andoan Mineral-fish.

neat, is there a way I can intigrate this into my terraformer
use some dev on this for my terraformer project. Organic tech might go good in with the whole terraforming idea.

[member="Reshmar"], there's likely be some similarities in some of the technology. Thinking back to the terraformer project that we did at TRF with Smarts, I think we used certain plants and enzymes for things like producing oxygen.

Both starships and newly terraformed worlds are going to need a breathable atmosphere. I'll keep that thought in mind while I'm thinking of stuff.
