Descended from Project Exarch, the ancient supersoldier initiative of Zakuul, it once transformed the most zealous Knights of Zakuul into post-organic war-champions, wielding terrifying power in the service of the Eternal Emperor. That sacred initiative fell into obscurity after the fall of Zakuul - but its principles survived.

In the waning days of the Empire's collapse, a shadow initiative known as Project Genesis emerged, fielding a new breed of artificially grown warriors: the Homo Aurum Clones. Bred for loyalty and endurance, they formed the Eternal Legion - prototypes in a living war game. Their performance paved the way for something far more ambitious.

Project Gothic is that culmination.

Where Genesis engineered life, Gothic reforges it. The procedure, named after Castle Gotha where it was envisioned, - also called the Indomitus Anointment - is a single, comprehensive operation that remakes the subject's body and mind into a perfected engine of martial supremacy. No longer confined to vat-grown clones, it can be applied to any sentient with compatible near-humanoid biology, though optimal results are achieved between the ages of 15 and 35. Gender, heritage, or prior allegiance are irrelevant. All that matters is the will to endure.

Candidates - referred to as the Unanointed - undergo this brutal transformation within specially sanctified crucibles deep beneath in the Castles of the Indomitus Legion. The operation itself fuses ancient Zakuulan gene-scripture with forbidden cybernetic biotechnologies, creating warriors known as Indomitus Squires - the living embodiment of martial excellency, armored in resolve and remade in the image of dominion.
