Profit and Lace

CORELLIA DIGITAL STORE

He spent so much time schmoozing the major galactic powers, that Sor-Jan forgot how nice it was to deal with a single planetary economy.

Denon was one such pocket of sanity within the network of Corellia Digital Stores. A welcome respite from taxation and tariff disputes that surrounded the dealings with the likes of the Republic or the Confederacy. And the so-called Outer Rim Coalition was a headache for the lack of enforced regulation. One did not trade with the Coalition as much as they did barter with it.

And bartering made it difficult to measure profitability, especially when the First Order blockade and the persistent problem of piracy in the Outer Rim driving shipping costs exponentially skyward.

It was the anniversary of the release of Endormon Go, so the company had decided to spend the months of the year by highlighting various locations through the corporate enterprise. This month's was Denon, which is what had brought the deceptively young CEO to the planet.

Part publicity stunt, part him wanting to also be able to take part in the holo-game that he made.

After all, part of what made Corellia Digital interesting for him was the fact that Sor-Jan was his own best customer.

But, it was also nice to drop in and just see how the local store operated. Understand its issues and frustrations. So far, Sor-Jan had spent the morning talking with his employees there at the store front.

And he wasn't above pitching in either. As it happened, at present he was setting out a few comlinks as part of a display.

Animus moved quietly through the crowds on Denon, the grey robe he wore lightly trailing along the ground as he stepped around a young couple looking through the window at some furniture. He keeps his hands folded behind his back, his fingers idly running across each other as he glances around the crowded landscape. For once, he was largely unarmed, and it did not sit well with him. He felt vulnerable, exposed, and entirely unprepared to combat any threat that might come his way.

However, on this one occasion, he was not looking to get into a fight. He had come to secure new equipment for the Reminiscent waiting for his return several systems away. Hopefully, he would be able to tie the ship into the galactic net, and keep appraised of the comings and goings of the entire galaxy at all times. Such information could not be taken for granted.

He came to a halt in front of the Corellia Digital Store, his eyes taking in the entirety of the store before walking forward and entering. He paused just inside the threshold, glancing around at the few strange glances he got before beginning to walk around the perimeter of the store, seeing what they had for sale.

The Corellian boy finished setting out the comlinks, then took a step back to admire his handiwork.

Not a bad display, if he said so himself...

It was then that the announcer on the door gave a chime that signaled the arrival of a potential customer. Turning his head, the small youth looked over and up at the man as he seemed to linger in the doorway for a moment, then began strolling along the perimeter, where they had a variety of datacrons, data crystals, data disks, and just about every other storage medium imaginable.

They were having a sale on the datacrons, actually. Huge storage capacity, but no one ever seemed to use them anymore. Were crystal drives really starting to take over the market? He hoped not. There were some definite limitations with data crystals. Datacrons were basically holocrons for the lazy. How cool was that?

"Welcome!"

Customer service 101: Establish a connection with the customer.

With a cheery salutations, the tow-headed youth walked over toward where the man seemed to be examining one of the sale racks, as he asked, "Can I help you find anything today?"
