Kaila Irons
Gen nodded to Kaila's asked for forgiveness and explanation.
"Most Mandalorians I know are traditionalists. It's nothing to apologize for and even still most don't know their history before the Resol'nare so it is understandable." Had Gen grown up normal she probably wouldn't have even known what she did of it now. Granted had she had a normal life she wouldn't be here right now; her and Kaila would probably be walking on a beach of Dathomir somewhere talking about their day.
That image alone, the thought of it was heart breaking to her because nether of them ever had chance at normal life no matter the choice she had made back then. It was hard to imagine what normal was, she had only heard about it in stories and in the people, she saw on the streets.
"It was me or separating a child from their mother. Easy choice."
As she listened to Kaila speak with apathy and indifference or at least that was how she took it. It broke her a little inside, and then came the gut punch at why she was chosen. Gen's teeth clinched tightly and her right hand balled up into a fist as she tried to hold back the intense rage and regret, she was feeling. She could feel herself breaking, she never wanted any of this.
She wanted to imagine her daughter had grown up into a Mandalorian warrior one who was proud and honorable. She wanted to imagine her daughter had a family somewhere on a Mandalorian world. She never wanted this, this was the farthest thing from what she wanted when she walked away. She thought her daughter had been protected but instead she was sold to the damn sith so some mandalorians could save their own.
If Clan Solus wasn't dead, she vowed they soon would be to herself. She was seeing red but not an ounce of that anger was aimed at the woman in front of her. Her daughter nor those who had done this to her little girl knew just how much carnage Gen was willing to cause knowing this information. She had given up her daughter thinking she would be protected and not sold to end some purge of a people she really did not care about.
"Then I killed someone I wasn't supposed to. The former emperor took notice, decided I had potential."
Gen's eyes closed for a second as she took a deep breath of the crappy Korriban night air. It really wasn't but in this moment she hated everything sith and Mandalorian, this place smelled of their defiled filth of a faith. Gen didn't want to think of her daughter having killed someone, though she wasn't naïve enough to believe it would never had happened even if life had been better.
Gen could control aspects of her emotions by tightening up her body and hold her jaw clinched. Her fist pumping to relieve tension but one thing she could not hide was her eyes. There was a deep emptiness there but those blue contacts that hid her eyes could not contain the fury, the
orange became more pronounced and started to spill out the sides giving her eyes a strange glow.
She had buried so much so deep for so long but it was bubbling to the surface, none of it aimed at Kaila but she wouldn't know that. No Gen was pissed at herself regret fueling her rage for people she had trusted for the only thing she had ever cared for so deeply she was willing to let it go to save them and give them a better future.
"How do you know Clan Solus?"
She looked at Kaila plainly in the face her jaw clinched tight.
"People I trusted brought me to them." Did it matter she had to wonder, they were dead or all about to be all dead.
"I have friends in Clan Awaud and Clan Balor traveled in the same mercenary circles." She was referring to
Dar'yaim Balor
an old family friend and
Kytana Horizonis
who used to be apart of Clan Awaud.
"They use to line me up with jobs from time to time and a few of them I had interactions with Clan Solus." She spoke but her voice went monotone as she was trying to hide her rage.
She wasn't sure if she wanted to know more or if more would just cause her to explode.
"Also my homeworld has had many run ins with Mandalorians, so I know a few people from various different clans." She admitted though not giving away her place of birth.
"So Solus sold you to the sith and an Emperor took notice…" She stopped herself from finishing her question, she wanted to know the Emperor's name but she knew damn well she should not know that name. Part of her was relieved in a way though that the dark figure that had taken notice of her daughter was this emperor and not the one who shall not be named.
"What was your training like? I am not that familiar with sith ways." A lie but a nice way to get information she wanted but truthfully didn't want to know because it would only cause her to go on the war path.
