Duel Practice makes perfect

High Commander of the Lilaste Order
Laphisto had invited Diarch Reign Diarch Reign to the training grounds on bastion. An invite of mandalorian honor and homage, while he had only heard rumors of the diarchs grace and skill in combat laphisto wanted to see it for himself, and with his current position in the diarchy seeing him in more naval combat than ground conditions - save for the few bar fights the two had gotten into together - he didn't see much of an opertunity rising any time soon to truly see the diarch in action.

And so he stood waiting at the end of the arena, an arena he had constructed just moments prior in the gardens nearest to the military barracks, he thought it a suitable position as both Lilaste order and Diarchy troops could barely witness to the duel. And perhaps even serve as a boost to moral to the men to see just what sort of power was on Thier side of this ever growing conflict in the galaxy

He couldn't say the request was unexpected. The High Commander was a Mandalorian after all, and that meant combat was among the highest forms.

He had accepted of course, it was a chance for Reign to learn the power behind the being. Someone around for as long as Laphisto surely had some tricks up his sleeve that the Diarch could learn.

He was also curious to see how he stacked up, power for power. Reign was no slouch, being able to go toe to toe with some of the greats in the Universe, but there was more strength to gain, more to learn.

The military personnel had all been abuzz with the news and as Reign entered the makeshift arena, he could see the crowd gathering. He would need to be careful not to harm anyone.

Laphisto gave a small bow towards Diarch Reign Diarch Reign as he entered the arena, a closed fist slamming into his armor as he dipped low.
Diarch Reign, glad to see you made it in a timely manner.” his words were more formal than usual, perhaps out of respect for the man to address him properly Infront of his soldiers

Rising from the bow, he reached down and unholstered the LO-22S sidearm from his thigh, handing it off to his commander. Tarian took the weapon without a word, stepping back from the arena’s edge.

With a small nod toward the man, Laphisto turned back to the Diarch, grabbing the Broad Saber from his waist. The mag-lock disengaged with a sharp metallic thrum as the weapon snapped into his palm under the guidance of the Force.

With a snap-hiss, the saber ignited, casting a soft glow as he rolled the setting into stun mode to ensure no lasting harm would come to his opponent.

Breathing in, he centered himself, sliding one leg back behind him while keeping the other forward, settling into a strong tail guard position.

Drawing a deeper breath, he allowed the Force to flood his senses, washing over his sight. The world dimmed, colors fading as Reign’s crimson-orange Force signature - compaired with the fient signatures of the soldiers around them- burned into view, vivid and sharp a deep crimson orange that rolled like a moving thunderstorm.

Reign had a faint smile on his face at the formality of Laphisto's greeting. The two had fought side by side for years now, yet it seemed the rules of a duel were to be observed. To return the sentiment, Reign bowed low and said

"Greetings High Commander, thank you for giving me this opportunity"

As he rose, he unclasped his cape and gave it to one of the Myrmidons standing nearby. With a solemn movement he unclipped his lightsaber hilt from his blade, igniting the blood-orange blade and giving a brief salute to his opponent.

"May our blades meet with honor, my friend"

That out of the way, he assumed his Form V ready stance, Lightsaber blade angled behind and above his body in a typical High Guard, waiting for his opponent to make the first move.

Laphisto recognized the form of Djem-so almost immediately. His lone ear perked upright while his force sight continued to highlight the crimson orange glow of the Diarch before him. "And may our blades clash and sing of the warriors oath" laphisto gave a small nod towards the Diarch before letting his gaze settle on any possible weak points. He stood there for a moment half hoping the diarch would initiate an attack first and allow him to work off the momentum but he soon found out that wasn't going to happen.

And so he took the first strike stepping forwards and dragging his blade upwards in a diagonal slash from his left hip up to his right shoulder the attack had some power behind it but not any more than your average swing.givong himself enough flexibility that - should his intended goal fail- he still had some wiggle room to counter. His goal was not to commit fully to this attack but instead to trigger the Diarchs forwards strike and to catch Thier blades together, and once the blades met with a sizzling crash he pushed towards his right using Reigns downwards momentum to try and redirect the blade to the side . Allowing him to slip his blade away and then twist it back using the directional momentum to then slash down towards his right shoulder.
