- Description: A secretive organization with largely unknown motives. It seems they have committed themselves to the perfection of cybernetic enhancements, evident in the quality of their work. No individual has ever publicly come forward and claimed to be a member.
- Headquarters: N/A
- Domain: The Slice
- Notable Assets: N/A
- Hierarchy: The hierarchy is decentralized. It seems as though members are on equal standing, all serving some entity that is presently unknown. It is assumed that this entity may be some sort of machine.
- Membership: IC membership would be gained by the secret society reaching out to you. OOC that decision will be at the digression of myself. At present I don't believe I wish for membership to be held by non-NPCs.
- Climate: Secretive. No info in, no info out.
- Reputation: The reputation of Portus Maxima, the slim one that it even has, is typically that of confusion and weariness. A collector may be eager to get their hands on a rare piece of equipment, while others may be concerned at the level of advancement the tech of this secretive organization holds.

- Rules: The only rule is to be unknown. When one departs to join Portus Maxima they must never be seen again.
- Goals: The goal of the organization seems to be the perfection of cybernetic technology. There seems to be almost religious motivation behind this goal.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Portus Maxima is a secret society of cybernetic enhancers which seems to have sprung up in the last hundred years or so. When they originate is unclear. Their equipment began circulating around 800 ABY, though some say that earlier instances have occurred. What cannot be denied is that their cybernetic technology pushes the boundaries of the field, though clearly has no regard for intergalactic regulation. Many will tell you that Portus Maxima simply does not exist, but the equipment they made is out there to find. Why do they build these enhancements? Such a reason is unclear, but it seems as though they may have some religious motivation to perfect the cybernetically enhanced form. as of the present day contact with a member of the secret society has never been officially made.
A young Devaronian woman named Tamami, who would be given the designation Tamami-447, seems to be one of their cybernetic experiments. Upon being released into the galaxy as a cyborg, the Devaronian has been unable to recall any memory of her time in the care of Portus Maxima.
