Polydroxol in the Sky with Denantium

The Outer Rim Territories

The being came into existence in the strangest of ways.

It started out as a large pool of molten metal. Intelligent, aware of its own existence, yet devoid of form. And it was not alone. An entire village existed within that pool. Consciousness intertwined as the multitude of independent thoughts coalesced and mingled in the pool they shared as a community. At some point, however, a small eddy began to form on the edge of that lake of mercury. A new thought. A curious thought. A newfound sense of being that was shaping as the eddy swelled and then slipped away from the molten lake.

The puddle was no longer part of the lake, it had now become its own person.

But what was it to be a person? What was this world around it? The little puddle wanted to know!

It came across an object. A rock, resting on the ground. It wasn't liquid. It wasn't metal. The puddle had never seen such a strange thing before!

Flowing over and around the strange, non-metal thing, the puddle shifted about as it studied this discovery it had made. Then, as it flowed around the pebble, the rock suddenly turned over and rolled on its side before settling back down again.

This was amazing!

Slithering along the ground, the puddle flowed up beside the rock. A thin tendril of Denantium formed as it reached out to touch the rock. The pebble lifted up on it's side when it did. A ripple of mirth resonated from within the fickle puddle, and it reached out to tap the pebble harder this time.

Once more, the rock tilted up on it's side. Only, this time, it rocked back the other way, rolling on top of the puddle. The edges of the puddle rippled outward with frustration, before it flowed out and then up over the rock. Then it stretched and fluttered, as though it were yawning.

Sliding down from the rock, the puddle settled back on the ground as it settled down for a nap.

A sudden impact sent a ripple flowing inward.

A series of stubby tendrils appeared, as the puddle rippled and shook as though stretching or yawning as it awoke to a most curious sight. It was this large... this large thing. It was shining lights, like the stars, and there was a series of sound vibrations as compressed gases were released. And it was lot bigger than the rock. Slipping across the hot, molten terrain, the puddle moved closer.

Huddling behind a larger rock, it extended a thin tendril around to gaze out at the strange object which now blotted out the sky. Shifting around to the front of the rock, the silvery puddle was about to creep forward when a vibration prompted it to slide back into hiding.

"I'm telling you, that navi-computer is a piece of chit."

Two large shadows passed over the rock, as a pair of giants moved across the landscape on two... stalks. The puddle had never seen anything like these stalk-walkers before! They were metal, or nearly metal. Except, their metal didn't look quite right. The plates holding a hard, brittle appearance as they caught the light.

"...and I'm sayin', it's working fine. Look, it says we're on Mustafar. Now tell me this doesn't look like Mustafar!"

The puddle slipped out from the rock, staring at the retreating backs of the two iron-clad stalk-walkers, before it started moving toward the large object on the horizon. Arriving at the base of a large pillar, the puddle reached out with a tendril to tap at the object. It rang out as something metal, but it was hard metal. And not communicating at all.

Pushing itself up from the ground, the puddle extended a large globule out from its center, as though to gaze up along the crevices of the pillar. Snaking around the pylon, the puddle pulled itself up in a shimmy to further explore this strange new thing.

"I told you this wasn't Mustafar!"

The sound of the stalk-walkers. Sliding down the pylon, the silvery mass spied the two shadows moving along the ground.

"I can't believe we just had a conversation with a lake..."

There was a strange sound, and some of the light pouring from out of the strange object disappeared as a ramp lifted itself away from the ground. Then there came an odd vibration, which quickly escalated into a loud rumble. Frightened, the silvery mass shot further up the pylon in order to hide within the dark recesses.

Then the pylon moved, as though shrinking as it was no longer connected to the ground and was instead retracting back into the object. As the metal foot of the pylon connected with the ship, the puddle was trapped inside the object. Entombed in darkness.

The darkness was suddenly flooded by light and fire.

Rudely awoken, the silvery mass was bounced around as the compartment it was in unsealed itself. The pylon once again extending as the foot of the landing strut extended out toward the ground. Slipping from out of it's perch, the puddle of denantium bounced from out of the landing gear to splash down on the ground several meters below. With a mucky splat the small puddle now found itself on an entirely different kind of surface -- quite unlike the molten terrain of its native land.

The polydroxol didn't have much time on which to reflect on it's present environment, as the wash from the repulsors swept the silvery mass clean off the ground.

Pitched through the air, the silvery mass arced upward, before coming down to land on the glasteel windshield of a passing air speeder. A creature inside of this strange object seemed as startled by the sudden turn of events as the polydroxol was to be splattered across a smooth metal that was invisible.

A pair of windshield wipers flung the silvery mass from off of the windshield however, chucking it back into the air as it fell back to the ground. This time, it didn't hit the ground. Instead, it hit something... not metal.

Not metal at all.

Coalescing itself together, the silvery puddle slipped down along the leaves and branches of the tree in which it had fallen. Flowing out over a branch, the denantium encountered a mass that suddenly moved. It was a most curious creature. A squirrel of some sort, perched up on the tree and as curious about the silvery mass as the silvery mass was about the squirrel.

As the squirrel's reflection was captured in the mass, the puddle seemed to bloom upward, reshaping itself so to mimic the creatures form. It was a close approximation, save for that the polydroxol was silvery metallic. The bushy tail of squirrel instead a jagged piece of metal waving in the air. As the two small creatures danced and darted around each other, the polydroxol soon found itself propelled along four stubby stalks. Bounding in pursuit of the squirrel, who -- by this time -- had to be the most confused squirrel in all of Voss.

Darting from out of the trees, the squirrel and its metal companion were soon bolting up and along walking trails that were arrayed around an ancient dwelling at the top of a mountain that was alive with lush, jungle flora. Skidding to a halt, the polydroxol squirrel found itself presented with any number of strange sights to behold.

More stalk-walker giants! Only, these didn't look metal.

Creeping forward, the polydroxol moved to investigate this new place some more.

Her reflection looked back up at her in the puddle of water gathered on the ground from the gently misty rain. It is a face, a little older some lines across her brow had formed, around her mouth the markings of a smile etched there over the years, created as a gift from her family. And she would never loose that gift for anything ..
Other furrows on her face, the writings of life experience and each one told of a tale of happiness or sadness, these lines are to be treasured not seen as growing older or wanting them removed out of vanity, no they are beautiful.

Coci stood up underneath the veil of the weeping willow. Her most favourite tree in this life and beyond it, it is cool here, but the rain finds her wetting her black hair to damp, it is the best day on Voss. Nothing beats a walk in the rain ... for everything lives again.

Her arm reaches out and pulls back the curtain of fine tendrils of leafy green, she will remain there for a moment longer taking shelter and enjoying the fresh smell as it rises up from the moist grass. And yet, there is someone present, an unknown value within the gardens that sings to her through the force. It's location uncertain, which intrigues and puzzles her. This is unique .. it is close, and watching. Curiosity? intrigue? what could it be...

The polydroxol squirrel rippled as something nearby caught its attention.

What, the anthropomorphic denantium wasn't sure yet. There were stalk-walkers all around. And more of the non-metal poles that had the green hanging off them. Following the example of the creature that had led it here, the silvery squirrel was a flurry of motion as it darted in a zig-zag pattern across the courtyard of the Silver Temple, innately curious about everything and anything it could see.

A giant stalk-walker was stood underneath one of the non-metal poles.

Something about this giant was strange to the metallic being. Hopping on its stubby 'legs', the rodent-like puddle went bounding through the grass as it approached this stalk-walker with curiosity that was utterly devoid of fear. After all, it was a metal that lived on a volcanic planet. The polydroxol had no idea what there was in this universe to fear.

She stepped out from under the canopy of the willow and into the drizzling rain. Allowing her face to be bathed in the gently falling moisture, Coci closed her eyes to relish the feeling. The sound of distant avian cried out and found her ears in a low mornfull song, there is much sense of the force here on Voss today, more so then usual and it was delightful. And yet that strange presence remains, which caused her eyes to open to seek it.

Coci looked across the grounds to see what appeared to be a creature, small coming toward her. A small rodent like thing with a bit bushy tail, but as it approached she looked curious upon it as it appear for all the world to be metal. Silver in fact, it was simply beautiful.

Her interested in the creature became even more heightened when she realised it was coming to see her. There was no sense of fear in the creature, nothing but curiosity that only matched her own and so as it came to her, Coci crouched down and watch to see what would happen next.

The stalk giant shrank!

The tail of the metal squirrel shot straight up into the air, even as its head ducked low to the ground as the creature watched in fascination as the two-legged behemoth folded itself. Then, the most curious thing happened.

The squirrel melted.

Freely flowing, the soft metal dissolved back into a puddle for a moment. Then it blossomed outward, expanding as tendrils appeared to shoot upward. These tendrils took a rough approximation of arms and legs, with a boxy, squared torso as the silvery being seemed to be trying to duplicate or replicate the position or form that the giant had assumed.

One thing that it couldn't understand were the strands hanging down from the top of the giant. A series of spikes and tendrils emerged from out of the 'head' of the figure, as it cycled through several attempts at understanding or assuming the shape of her hair. It was all very rudimentary. Though the arms and body were starting the smooth out. Details like the folds in her clothes starting to appear. The limbs becoming more rounded, then more detailed with muscle definition.

The head and face still eluded the creature though. That was an oblong mass of whippets and spikes that kept altering themselves. Her reflection was mirrored in the creature's skin, as it continued to try and re-create her form in miniature.

"I am dreaming", she said out loud. And yet before her eyes the squirrel melted and formed a puddle, but the it moved again toward her. She shook her head trying to clear her mind, is this some trick? but the force told her not, and even more so that the puddle was attuned to it. "This .. this is a being?", she spoke aloud once more as if asking the force to verbally answer her.

And then something extraordinary happened. The puddle created a new form, she watch in amazement as it grew and shaped itself. Coci was looking at this being with a child-like gaze, a sense of wonderment in her mind. It took all her strength not to reach out to touch it. Her eyes widen more, as the form it tried to take was a mirror image of herself. Not complete but it was recognisable as her own features formed before her.

Something insider her made her reach out to it, although she has no knowledge of this being, there is absolutely no malice dwelling within it. "Who.. who are you?".

This was a most complex shape.

As her hand reached out toward it, the silvery creature stretched out it's hand toward hers. The fingers stretched outward, as though the being were trying to perfect their form. The topography was most interesting. Bumps and ridges, lines and textures. Alternating lengths. And a sudden, strange difference at the ends. A top piece that was quite different in form and texture from the rest. Like a lip or ledge. Smoother, seemingly a different material than the rest of the finger.

As fascinating as fingernails were, the polydroxol's attention was soon shifted as the giant stalker opened her mouth. A ripple resonated through the liquid, as a sound vibration emitted from the stalk walker. It was an amazing thing, the sounds this stalk-walker was producing. The hand and arms melted away, as the silvery blob focused on the face.

An opening appeared at the front. Ridges, like lips, moving apart as the creature tried to duplicate the movements of the jaw. The shape of the mouth. How the face elongated and changed slightly with the movement.

But the sound? How did it make the sound?

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

It was the strangest feeling. The touch of his .. hand on hers cold and metallic but from it radiated a warmth from within that told her this is indeed a being. Her look, her eyes sat in wonder looking back at her in the face of this being, he is mimicking her, trying to work her out just as much as she is, him. or her .. ??

The lips changed slightly and opened as if to speak, but no words come, nothing. This was truly unique. A being born of the stars ..

How did it get here on Voss, is it lost or abandoned? Coci knew that she simply could not walk away, and her brow knitted as her mind raced with what to do. She stood up slowly not wishing to frighten the being, and took a few steps toward the Temple. She turned to see if the being would move or follow or simply vanish into the ground ...

She hoped not.

The stalk giant expanded.

The creature watched as the gargantuan figure rose, until it was looming like the god of some Charlton Heston film high above where the silvery form was sparkling and shimmering as its malleable form continually shifted with the effort to assume a shape as complex as that of the giant.

The giant moved away, locomotion supplied by the motion of the two stalks it was perched upon. Drawing itself up, the polydroxol tried to emulate the motion with a step forward.

The puddle promptly face-planted into the dirt. Rippling outward in mild frustration, the silvery being pulled itself together in the form of the ground squirrel it had first appeared as. Hopping across the ground, the polydroxol approached the giant once more, following curiously to see what other motions and movements it might make.

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

She stopped and watched as the silvery being attempted to follow her, only to see it fall. Coci made a move to go and assisted but hesitated as the being righted itself and reformed into the small rodent creature once more. She doubted that this 'appearance' was it's true form, considering how it dissolves into a puddle, that was more likely the case.

The creature came toward her once more, curiosity easy to see in it as well as a sense of frustration, but this feeling stemmed from the fact that it was trying just as hard as she to understand, to understand the nature of each other.

As it came to her, Coci lowered once more, this time holding out both her arms to invite the creature into them, and in so doing she hoped the creature would sense her concern and astonishment, her curiosity and caring for it's well being. She wanted to take the creature home, to the Temple and ensure that no harm comes to it, to learn and have it learn from her, if ... if that is what this truly remarkable being wanted.

The ground squirrel bounded forward.

There was a structure behind the stalk walker. The closer the polydroxol got to it, the larger that the strange mountain seemed. And the giant shrank again, folding down lower to the ground. This time, it extended it's hands out toward the denantium rodent. Curious, and eager for another opportunity to inspect the structure and form of the hands up close, the polydroxol wandered into her arms.

The weight of the squirrel would likely be surprising. The denantium was compressed into the shape and size of a ground squirrel, yet weighed thirty kilos. It was quite interested in the topography of the five digit appendage which terminated the stalk. Deep ridges and grooves. Patterns swirled along the surface of the exterior. Which was not metal, but some other substance. It was also partially translucent, allowing the polydroxol to see there were structures -- like tubes -- beneath the surface.

A fascinating and complex shape, indeed!

[member="Coci Heavenshield"]

The Polydroxol would not be the only one fascinated by this experience. Coci felt like a child seeing a wonder for the first, her mind trying to understand the nature of it. But, her senses allowed her to see, allow her to realise that this was special. Unexpected, surprising was the weigh of the small creature as it entered her arms, it almost knocked her over, she could feeling it, perplexed and she looked closer to the layer on the Polydroxol shifting before her eyes, small skin patterns formed and she realised it was from her touch, it was exploring her as much as she it.

Well the tests would come, one after the other, each passing moment would see a new thing or feeling or experience for them both. She stood up slowly not wishing the scare the Polydroxol with her sudden movement, and she began to walk carrying the creature up the steps of the Silver Temple. If she felt any fear or confusion from the creature she would stop and release it, if that is what it wished.

This is a sentient being, no animal.
