Political Rally on Chazwa!

Tonald Drump

You can't stump the Drump.
[Okay. Political RP is go. Any and all characters are cool to jump in with whatever, but bare in mind this is on the current Republic capital, so if your character's known to be an enemy of the state then this probably isn't the thread for you. :) that said, open rp is open.]

Where Coruscant was once the jewel in the crown of the Republic, now it was Chazwa. An unassuming planet with incredible links to trade, prosperity, and general wealth. And of course, the Republic Senate. It was on the steps of said Senate that a large crowd had gathered, with flags of red white and blue. They had come simply because one of the senators, a man known as Senator Tonald Drump had organised a speech. He. A Senator. Talking directly to the people. Perhaps this was the secret to his success. Maybe it was his hair? Either way, as the Senator approached the podium the crowd whipped into a mild frenzy of cheering, clapping and chanting "you can't stump the Drump!"
It hadn't been long since he started on the campaign trail to encourage the citizens of the Republic to help him make the Republic great again, but already his popularity ratings had hit the roof. The holonews teams buzzed like flies through the event - undoubtedly he would end up saying something controversial, and that was good for ratings.
Nobody really knew what to expect as the crowd began to hush, but one thing was for certain.
This was gonna be good.

As the norm, Alpha was clad in his suit of armor, with all sensors on high alert. Though he himself was not a legal Republic citizen, he was a Jedi first and foremost, so he was here as a guard for peace. Thus, he was ready for anything to commence.

Being a Hound of the Alliance, he too had with him a squadron of men, each stationed throughout the populace. Each was armed with whatever weapons they saw fit, though were dressed in shell silk clothing, with comlinks turned to his frequency. It was not a battle strategy, but as stated, a defensive one. If anyone suspicious was spotted, it would enact quick, decisive strikes to remove them from the area.

"Alpha, in position. Status report." He murmured into the communicator built into his helmet. In quick bursts, replies came, to the affirmative as well - everyone was in place. As such, he turned his sensors to the speaker's podium.

Kay-Larr

Sphaera Tea Company Owner
Kay had returned to the Senate Hall after her short break on Bakura to clear her head and be questioned by some Republic officers as to where her loyalties lay. She had of course voted in the Senate to help give Gen the emergency powers that she needed. But....it wasn't a vote that she had done willingly. Her vote was won through blackmail. And now she had to come back, had to try to make up for that mistake for as long as she was still a Senator. Though how long that would be was still to be decided by those that knew her secrets.

[member="Tonald Drump"] was quite the character and quite the humorous distraction that some of the populace needed. Sure he might whip up support, but what kind? Kay glanced to [member="The Dark Knight"] and the other armoured men keeping watch over the event, before looking up at the podium and waiting for the speech to start. All ears were on Drump now.

Darion leaned over the balcony, his thing fingers clutching the reiling to secure his stance.
Far bellow a crowd was gathering. A senator with, that apparently had risen in popularity judging by recent polls was going to hold a speech.

This would be interesting and even though the speech could just as easily be followed on a cast the aging Darion Blackstaff prefered to see, smell and take in the atmosphere surrounding charismatic men and women.

There was still no announcement regarding what the speech would be about. But Darion suspected that [member="Tonald Drump"] had used hefty sum on PR to get this sort of attention. And so, his speech would most likely hold something of interest.
