Special Features: The lightsaber hilt has been colored black. This has been done both for symbolic purpose as he is a Jedi Shadow, and to aid in hiding the weapon when Kian is using stealth. There has been a backup powercell added to the pommel cap. The blade is silver, and powered by a Solari Crystal which produces a thicker blade and can only be wielded by a lightsider.
Description: Growing up on the Kel Dor homeworld of Dorin, Kian Karr idolized Jedi Master Plo Koon, the famed Kel Dor Jedi Council Member. Following the loss of his family, Kian decided to leave Dorin and it was partly because of his respect for Master Koon that Kian decided upon joining the Jedi Order.
Several years later, after Kian had made Knighthood and befriended fellow Jedi Corvus Raaf and Kana Truden, the three Jedi made their way to Dorin on a small vacation to get away from the fighting. While there, Kian revealed the loss of his wife and child to his two friends and the significance of Plo Koon in the Kel Dor's life. Kian's son, who was born early and lived for only three days, was named Plo Karr after the famed Jedi. Visiting the Baran Do Archives, the three unearthed coordinates that pointed to a place on Cato Neimoidia where the Kel Dor's interceptor crashed.
The three then made a trip to Cato Neimoidia and paved the way for an archaeological dig. Soli Baris and Jedi Archaeologist Pra'ct conducted a dig at the site for several weeks unearthing a number of artifacts related to the crash. It wasn't until the damaged antiox mask of Plo Koon was discovered that they call Kian back to the planet. While he was there they unearthed the damaged lightsaber. Upon finding the damaged remains of the lightsaber, Kian went to Dorin where he repaired the damage lightsaber and installed his Solari crystal.
Kian made several changes to the lightsaber hilt as he repaired it but stayed true to the original design and used as many of the original components as possible. The lightsaber design was similar to many of the Jedi of the late Republic. It was long enough to accommodate the taloned hands of the Kel Dor, with a rounded grooved emitter and a triangular pommel cap. Unlike the original design, however, the originally silver hilt has been colored black. The black coloring denotes Kian's involvement with the Jedi Shadows and also aids in keeping the lightsaber hilt hidden when operating in stealth. The blue crystal originally housed in Plo Koon's lightsaber was splintered into multiple shards and unusuable. The Solari crystal that Kian installed emits a wide, silver blade.
