Intent: Personal Heavy Armor for Braith Ma'at Achlys to replace her archaic armor
Development Thread: If Necessary
Manufacturer: Braith Achlys
Model: N/A
Affiliation: Braith Achlys
Modularity: Cloak can be removed.
Production: Unique
Material:
  • Phrik
  • Armorweave Underlay
  • Simmersilk
  • Jakobeast Trim
Classification: Multi-Purpose
Weight: 16 KG
Quality: 9
  • Phrik Armor: 10 (Lightsabers), 4 (Kinetic Trauma), 9 (Anything else)
  • Simmersilk Fabric: 8 (Blasters), 2 (Anything else)
  • Armorweave Underlay: 3 (Lightsabers), 5 (Blasters), 2 (Anything else)
Special Features:
  • Lightsaber Resistant: The entirety of the armor, aside from the cloak, is made of Phrik with an armorweave underlay. The exterior of this armor is highly resistant to strikes from a lightsaber, capable of withstanding sustained blows from such weapons far longer than normal armor. While heat transfer is still a possibility, there is an armorweave underlay to both act as an insulator from the elements as well as to provide secondary protection when the phrik fails to do so.
  • Blaster Begone: Whereas the plates of this armor resist lightsabers, and potentially can withstand a large amount of blaster fire, the Simmersilk which has been woven into a fabric as a cloak is incapable of offering protection from lightsabers. This cloak, however, does provide ample protection from blaster weaponry, as the simmersilk utilized for it reflects a decent percentage of blaster-fire that strikes it.
Strengths:
  • Strong lightsaber resistance in the phrik armor.
  • Strong blaster resistance in the simmersilk fabric.
Weaknesses:
  • Even though the armor is made of phrik, it is still relatively heavy, particularly for the material it is created with.
  • Wearing this cloak would give an opponent the ability to use the length of the cloak as a way to hamper the wearer's movements, such as stepping on the cape or pulling on it.
  • Behind the knee and armpit joints can be exploited to inflict damage to the wearer, as it offers less protection than the rest of the armor.
Description:
Following Braith's departure from the Aing-Tii, and her subsequent re-emergence in the known galaxy, the witch elder found it prudent to create an armor that would replace her plates of scorn in the instance that she would find herself in combat again. Although her original armor offered far more incredible and superior protection, this new set was designed only to offer the minimal protection necessary to ensure her survival. No processes of alchemy were taken on the phrik itself, meaning no special abilities or reflecting of blasters as her last offered. The only presence of alchemy in the armor is with the cloak, which is constructed out of simmersilk fabric, something which Braith herself designed several years ago.

All in all, the armor itself offers large protection from lightsabers and blasters, good protection from physical weapons, but suffers - as do most armors - with a lack of protection from physical trauma. This means that while a slug fired from a slugthrower might not immediately pierce the phrik armor, it will transfer its kinetic energy through the metallic armor and create harsh bruises and potentially broken bones and bruised, or even ruptured, organs if struck in vital areas. The cloak offers good protection from blasters, and protects the Alua'an's skin from the harsh ultraviolet rays from the sun, but not much else.

The armor is significantly heavier than most phrik armor, which generally range in 8 to 12 kg, and the back of the knees and the armpit regions of the armor can be exploited as they are weaker than the rest of the armor.
