Pit fit idea.

So I was thinking we have some much fighting grounded in tradition means of sword, lightsabers, and the armors to compliment them. But why not shake things up a bit. Why not have a fight system where two fighters are thrown into a pit and forced to fight with no traditional weapons and no armor at all, spiked knuckles, lances, kusarigamas, axes, maces, lances, etc. To make things more challenging we have the moderator or judge decide the weapons at random after a match-up. Just an idea.

Course it helps if I can spell the title of the thread right...

I've seen that episode of Spartacus too. However I don't want to leave people barehanded against an armed fighter. Another issue is the obstacle of getting people to fight with the assigned weapons and not just use force powers, while at the same allowing the of use of the force.

You are given one weapon and nothing else. No skin off my back if you don't want to use it, but you wont have anything else ;)

I will be making the pit in it's own forum this weekend. it's a good idea 4realdoe.

Ehh, obstacles are made to be overcome. The force issue can be dealt with fairly easily, me thinks. If people don't want to fight by the system set up for the pit, their is nothing forcing them to do so. Otherwise, if we veer too much away from the idea, it starts to meld into the concept of the GBA in general and doesn't really set itself apart.

Why not put shackles connected to the weapon that electrically fry you if you attempt to remove them? That way the force is still accessible but they can't ignore the weapon because it'll be in the way if they don't use it.

For weapons that require a degree of movement, they could be connected wirelessly, so that if that weapon is out of their reach after a certain distance it fries them. However, that makes a weapon like that dangerous, because who's to stop an opponent from taking that weapon from you and running away, putting you in agony?

So actually, I rescind my suggestion, because the mission statement here is basically to help people learn how to duel, and the best and probably most important rule to learn is the honor system. If the point of a particular fight is to fight with a weapon, it is expected that you use the weapon. I don't think we need any other stipulations than that.
