Private Picking it Clean

Hyperspace
Aboard the Horizon
En Route to Carida

Being with someone in a romantic way longer than a couple weeks to a month was new territory for Junior. He wasn't surprised at the slightest about this owing to the fact his lineage on both sides was filled with false starts and utter disasters in the romantic sense, his own namesake having not had a steady relationship until his early forties.

That thought brought a smirk to his face as he thought at least he had one upped his old man in at least one way, being able to keep a significant other longer than he had at his age. Speaking of significant others he swiveled in the co-pilots chair so he could observe her out of the corner of his eye for a bit.

She was currently busying herself with the intricacies of space travel, something that he'd told her he could help with but had banned him from doing after an incident with the Starchaser a few months back though in his defense that bulk freighter had pulled into the designated lane when they'd been leaving the docking bay.

Turning back towards the viewport he watched the blue streaks of hyperspace slip by as he thought about their current predicament. Their enterprising cargo delivery service together was growing beyond their capability to handle it and it was for that reason they were on their way to Carida, to pick up a military protocol droid…and maybe some extra salvage along the way.

Jahzra Rocvard

Criminal with a Heart of Gold

There wasn’t much to do in hyperspace besides watch the timer scroll down, and the distance to destination shrink in proportion. To that end, Jahzra kept one eye on the readouts while studying the datapad’s screen which rested in her lap

With the collapse of the Galactic Alliance, the region was in continual flux. Perfect for enterprising people to turn a quick credit. But also just as risky. Gangs, pirates, slavers, warlords--All could be found in a power vacuum, until the next national expansion, or some new government formed in the ashes of the GA.

On the screen sprawled a map with scrawling data feeds updating in real time as best the system could work with. Combined with her own nav charts and routes, maybe they’d have a good chance of squeezing through.

Between her navigation skills, pilot skills, and the stealth coating and sensor shrouding systems on the Horizon, it was a good bet. But if the odds were not in their favor, that’s what good engines and good shields were for.

“You do realize this is the boring part, right?”

He let out a small chuckle before leaning back into his chair when she mentioned this leg of the trip being boring and he shrugged. "Like I've told you before, life in the army conditions one towards long stretches of boredom but-" His words were cut off as a crashing noise was heard coming through the hallway that connected the cockpit to the common room. He swiveled in his chair to face said hallway before turning back to face Jazz with a weary expression on his face. "-being an officer gives you a crash course in raising children."

He reached up and rubbed the bridge of his nose. The sound had more than likely came from the six passengers they were currently carrying, all his former squadmates from his time in the GADF Army. Originally the idea for the job had been just the two of them to quietly slip in and take what they needed and maybe some extra but after the intelligence they had gathered it was decided they'd need help. Thankfully Junior knew a group of people who were not only capable but knew the terrain they'd be going to.

Standing from his chair he cracked his back and leaned over to press a kiss against Jazz's cheek before patting her shoulder. "I'll go make sure they didn't break anything. Yell if you need me…love ya." With a last kiss to the cheek he made his way through the hallway and into the common room and groaned when he saw a bottle of whiskey, a bottle of Whyren's Reserved he'd bought for Jazz and his upcoming anniversary to be exact, shattered on the floor.

"What in the nine hells is going on here!?" His voice boomed out and five pairs of eyes snapped onto him as he scanned over each and every one of them. There was Lana Sarad who at one time had been his second in command and was now the group's weapons expert. Next was Ussc Stossus, the team's Trandoshan combat engineering and demolitions expert. Then came Teelea Sar, the team's Twi'lek medic, who at least had the decency to look embarrassed. Onto Manla Carvr, the teams Togruta comma expert who was sitting on one of the couches and uninvolved. Lastly came Gary Sanderson, the only other human on the team and their tech expert who was looking for something to clean up the mess.

He fixed them all with a stare that could've melted durasteel. It was Lana who spoke to him for the group. "Sorry Cap…we were just…looking for something to take the edge off before the op and it just kinda…slipped." He signed as he shook his head and jerked his thumb toward the cargo bay. "Just…go into the cargo bay and get your gear together." They all took the out he gave them and quickly scurried into the cargo bay while he went about trying to clean up the mess they'd made.
