BIOGRAPHY

Born amidst the gleaming spires and whispered intrigues of Kuat, Phylis entered the world as a living secret. Her mother, Elane II of Kuat a formidable noblewoman whose ambition was matched only by her pragmatism, conceived her during a brief, intense liaison with the charismatic Reginald Cadriaan.

Their encounter, a spark struck during a high-stakes tour of the Kuat Drive Yards, resulted in a daughter who embodied both Kuat's aristocratic lineage and Cadriaan's elusive charm a charm Phylis would know only through distant tales and her own reflection.

Officially, Phylis was raised within the gilded cage of Kuati nobility, a youngest daughter afforded luxury but overshadowed by the weight of her mother's rising power and the unspoken truth of her paternity. Elane, fiercely protective yet distant, ensured Phylis received an education befitting her station: finance, diplomacy, galactic history, and the subtle art of political maneuvering.

Yet, beneath the polished surface, Phylis sensed the fracture lines in her identity, the sidelong glances, the quiet speculation about the father she never met.

Her world shattered during the coup of Regent Julius Loghain.

As chaos engulfed Kuat and old families were purged or fell from grace, Elane II, already having served in the Tenth Sith Empire made a ruthless calculation. The secret daughter, a potential vulnerability in the treacherous new order, had to vanish. With cold efficiency born of maternal love twisted by political necessity, Elane arranged Phylis's disappearance. Under cover of night, the young noblewoman was smuggled off-world, her destination not a sanctuary, but a crucible: Nar Shaddaa.

Plunged from sterile opulence into the chaotic, neon-drenched squalor of the Smuggler's Moon, Phylis faced a brutal awakening. Her noble bearing was a liability, her education seemingly useless. Survival meant shedding her Kuati skin and learning the harsh dialects of the underworld. She traded silks for synth-leather, etiquette manuals for vibro-knives, and boardroom strategies for back-alley deals. She learned to read the flicker in a Hutt's eye, to haggle with desperate smugglers, to disappear into crowds, and to trust no one lessons far more visceral than any taught in Kuati academies.

Years in Nar Shaddaa's shadows forged Phylis anew. She retained the sharp intellect and analytical mind honed on Kuat, but it was now tempered in the fires of the gutter. She developed an uncanny knack for assessing value not just credits, but leverage, information, and weakness.

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES

Hybrid Savagery & Subtlety (Force & Street): Phylis wields the Dark Side with the raw, brutal pragmatism of a Nar Shaddaa survivor. Her Force abilities aren't elegant Jedi techniques, but street-fighting tools honed in the gutter. Combined with her Kuati education in strategy and finance, she can shift terrifyingly between overwhelming brute force and calculating manipulation. She reads people and situations with a predator's instinct, blending underworld cunning with noble insight.

Resilient Outsider: Forged in the fires of abandonment and Nar Shaddaa's harsh reality, Phylis possesses immense resilience. Betrayal is expected, hardship is normal. This makes her incredibly difficult to break, manipulate emotionally (outside her specific triggers), or intimidate. She adapts quickly, thrives in chaos, and has a deep, cynical understanding of how the galaxy's underbelly really works. Her exile grants her unique perspective and freedom from conventional loyalties.

Inherited Financial Instincts: Despite her hatred for her mother, Phylis inherited Elane II's sharp mind for value, leverage, and credit flow. She instinctively understands economics, debt, and the power of wealth. This allows her to spot opportunities, assess risks, manipulate transactions, and exploit financial weaknesses in ways few Force-users can, making her a uniquely dangerous asset or adversary in the Sith Empire's financial landscape.

Force Dependency & Vulnerability: Phylis relies heavily on the Dark Side, not just for power, but as a crutch honed in Nar Shaddaa's dangers. It's her shield and weapon. This makes her acutely vulnerable to ysalamiri and voidstone. Encountering them isn't just a loss of power; it's a terrifying plunge into helplessness, stripping away her primary survival tool and leaving her feeling like the abandoned child on Nar Shaddaa all over again. Panic and disorientation can set in quickly.

Consuming Hatred & Abandonment Trauma: Her seething, often drunken hatred for Elane II is her defining emotional wound. It fuels her power but also clouds her judgment and makes her predictable. Anyone connected to her mother, Kuat, or the Banking Clan can become a target of irrational rage. Offers of connection or information about her mother are potent, dangerous bait she might recklessly pursue. This deep-seated trauma is a glaring vulnerability for manipulation.

Self-Destructive Vice (Drunken Rowdiness): Phylis is a functional, but often severe, drunkard. Alcohol numbs her pain and fuels her rage, but it's her primary coping mechanism and a major liability.
