Phrik for a King!

[member="Caius Flavian"] [member="Utena Calvarona"]

Alva sighed as she stood to the side of the ring that had been setup in one of the Palace's courtyards overlooking the valley of the mountain the grand center of Crina's Monarchy was situated in just behind the capital city of Stefania. The sounds of singing, or perhaps screeching, energy as Crinan Energy Blades clashed against one another was beginning to get to the young Princess. However, it wasn't often that her father, the King, asked for her of her sisters to be an audience for his sparring sessions. Utena and their mother Emilia would likely be along soon to join her an the choice Nobility, officers, and Royal Guardsmen who were gathered to spectate.

In fact Alva felt certain the Queen Emilia would join in the session as well, since this whole thing was the King's way of testing out the new armor he was sporting courtesy of the Imperial Remnant's connections. He had also commissioned a similar combat armor for the Queen as well, hence Alva's belief she would join in the session. For now though, the ring only contained Oliver Calvarona, Crina's King, as he sparred against several members of the Royal Guard. It wasn't anything new, by this point after all the man's training he was often considered the most skilled swordsman on Crina.

He had made Alva and her sisters train in similar fashions as well, but not as often seeing as they had all received training and education at Cosmina, something he himself had missed out on. Right now though just watching it seemed so incredibly unfair. Alva already knew that the Crinan Energy Blade was no threat to lightsaber resistant materials like phrik, and since the King's armor sported an energy shield like regular Crinan Combat Armor the Guardsmen were wearing, it was incredibly unfair. He didn't even have to defend himself against them if he wanted to, but of course that was no fun. So he was swinging his sword about, twisting it about himself, sliding it between his hands and swinging around as he challenged three newer members of the Royal Guard.

Alva continued sighing waiting for something different. She knew a few other people had been invited she hoped they would arrive soon.

I had spent the better part of an hour going through multiple security check points along the road to the capital. The Initial part of the journey was easy as it was predominantly ISB and Military check points. A wave of my ID or entering my intelligence clearance was all that was needed. However the actual path to the Crinan palace was extremely tedious. Multiple times I had to wait for the royal guard to check and ensure that I had in fact been invited by Princess Alva Calvarona. Today I had happened to enlist the help of Ensign Runo to aide me in ensuring I had all the proper materials. It had been a good minute since she had worked with me. Out of respect I was constantly saluting the various Royal Guard members as we passed through the check points. ‘Thank the celestial’s I had brought my specially insulated travel mug, don’t know where I would be without caffeinated teaKara would have to drag me to this meeting

I looked down at my data pad though and frowned. I had overnight memorized every detail of the Imperial legionnaire armor and the work that had been done on it. Unfortunately it had been shelved as the military prioritized the production of easily mass produced weapons and armor over specialized suits. However the Crinan Royal Family, especially the princess had made a recent interest in incorporating the concept into their own armor. The princess had returned from her victories in the Tournament of Gods. Fresh ideas certainly were going to be abound on the further improvement and design of new weaponry perhaps sometime down the line.

The Ensign looked wearied, having spent the better part of the last few weeks training and improving the techniques of future Crinan Pilots at the Tiberius academy. The palace was what palaces were. Beautiful architect, I loved the way the Crinan’s had developed as civilization. A truly remarkable example of the human species and the civilizations that have rose over time. We made a few stops along the way to admire some of art work featured throughout the halls.

We arrived finally to one of the Palace’s court yards. The sunlight bathed the area, basking the sight I was greeted of the King resplendent in the armored prototype of Regent’s latest endeavor to aid the Crina Royals. I chuckled as the sparring match was easily well in the favor of the King himself. A dossier the ISB had on Oliver Dorian Calvarona was fairly detailed about his prowess in the art of swordsmanship. “Princess Alva, lovely to see you again, thank you for the invitation” I spoke sincerely and gave a slight bow. I beckoned Runo to do the same. We approached the edge of the ring to where the young royal was standing. I took a sip and enjoyed the hum and clash of the energy blades.

I seriously was about two breathes away at this point from decking Caius. How he roped me into this I don’t even know. I had a back pack on with several data pads and various notes stuffed inside. ‘How this man came to his rank and authority when his organization skills are just horrendous... I’ll never know, ugh…’ It was again some important task and it happened to involve the royal family. I had to let things slide once we had made into the palace. It was amazing to walk the halls, the regal attire was something else. Plying the old routes in the mid rim when I was young I had never seen this sort of thing. Caius had some feth eating grin on as he kept examining art and other objects along the way. I shook my head the man had grown up in the core he was looking at this stuff as if it were something in a museum.

We had finally arrived a courtyard. I let out a sigh as I was greeted by the sight of several men fighting. I took notice that Princess Alva was here as well. ‘Thank the Celestials if he had dragged me out here to just watch a bunch of men fight each other I would have slapped him. Bad enough he was gambling on those fights from the Hutt Pay Per View networks…’ My thoughts had wandered for a moment of me using some large blunt object and hitting him upside the head, ‘why does he make me so violent?’ His arm gesture and bow snapped me out of my trance. I broke a smile of relief and spoke kindly to the princess “Hello Mi’lady!” Then made a similar bow suddenly feeling somewhat out of place.

[member="Caius Flavian"] [member="Utena Calvarona"]

Finally was what Alva was thinking when she heard the Lieutenant Commander's approach and returned his bow with a similar one of her own in greeting. His pilot attendant was along again with him today it seemed. She wondered how it would seem to them, a few people standing on a courtyard overlooking a valley filled with life, a city just in the distance, all to watch a simple sparring match between some men for fun. It probably appeared rather frivolous and overly peaceful considering how not too long ago there was a civil war on hand, but at the same time such things had occurred every now and again even back then surprisingly enough. There were always moments when people had to step back and remember there were still other things to life than strife, this just happened to be a particular way Crina's King enjoyed spending those moments, and it didn't hurt it helped keep him in practice, well when his opponents were up to match at least.

The second daughter of Oliver Calvarona wondered as well if her more boyish style of sporting clothes would appear odd as well. It was still rather noble in fashion, but not exactly her usual feminine wear or uniform, but in cases like these she was just making plenty sure she was ready to join in the sparring herself since the like sometimes happened and it was much harder to change out of a dress. "Its lovely to see the two of you as well. I hope you have both been enjoying yourselves and staying well? I'm sorry if the invitation came to you at a busy time or seems unnecessary, but I feel as though your being here will make it easier on myself, especially seeing as how Utena and the Queen appear to be running behind schedule."

Behind them they could likely see Crina's King fling himself backwards from an opponent coming in from his side, another of the newer Royal Guard recruits behind him bracing to take advantage of his enemy coming right to him only to lightly touch his right foot down to toss himself just out of the way of the lunge the young man threw his way. Continuing his backward movement he raised his arm and slammed his armored elbow in the younger man's helmet and knocked him off his feet, raising his blade in his left hand to catch the third foe's weapon as he rushed to his comrades defense. Struggling for a moment with the weight on his one arm, Crina's King would reach out with his free right hand and throw his weight forward as he gripped his opponent's neck and swung them to the ground, slamming his enemy against it with rough force. A quick turnabout was his last initiation as he stared down the third recruit. He spared only a moment before stepping forward with a powerful downward strike that feinted to the side and came back up beneath their defense, pausing as the energy blade held at their throat. "Did I end it already? You didn't even get a touch in. . . . . am I too good or is the standard slacking. . . "

An audible sigh could be heard as Oliver Dorian Clavarona stood up and back, rolling his shoulders before spotting his daughter and the Imperial guest beside her. A grin that he would forget would go unseen behind his helm, was plastered on the King's face as he approached them with a wave and a call. "Ho Alva, I recall you saying you would have an interesting guest appear, but I thought it would be another one of the noble daughters from your Academy days you met at Cosmina. Don't tell you called in the Imperial I have to thank specifically for arranging the new armor sets. I haven't even properly broke it yet to tell them how much use we're getting from it."

"Well Princess I've certainly made several calls upon you to aid me, it would be rude not to repay the favor," I spoke genuinely sincere. Considering the thus far close working relationship between us two I had a very deep respect and admiration for the young lady. A friendship was slowly budding between the two of us. "Besides the safety and welfare of our friends is paramount to making success happen. Your father seems to be quite the swordsman..." my voice trailed off as I turned back to watching the spectacle of the King trouncing the Royal Guardsmen.

I had to admire the man, his sword skills were extraordinary. I gave a wry grin to the King and gave him a formal short bow “Sire, it is a pleasure to meet you again. Lt. Commander Caius Flavian of his Imperial Majesty’s Military and her Imperial Majesty’s Intelligence Services. I believe we met at the celebration of the day of liberation. I have to say your skills with the sword are far superior to my own at the present moment. I have grown very rustic in my wrist work and foot play.

Before their murder at the hands of republic zealots my parents had spent a considerable amount of money on not just my education but also on tutors in various extracurricular fields of study. Now most of that knowledge had been put to great use over the years. However the one practice and skill I had up until recently always maintained was that of swordsmanship. I shook the thoughts of the loved ones lost. I turned to the young princess and waved a hand out to Ensign Runo. I took a sip of tea “We brought along a set for you Princess Alva to be fitted if you would like. I also brought along the original armor that Regent Industries based this new design upon!”

"Thank you Mi'lady for the invitation! It has been very nice to enjoy the palace's design and regal display" I struggled to find the appropriate words. Having been only in the military environment for the last year or so and before that living a life essentially as a gypsy smuggler I had never been in a royal court. I felt nervous but seeing Princess Alva again was a relief considering she held rank in the Imperial Military. My attention also turned to the fight at hand and was surprised to see how much of a mismatch it was. After it ended the king began to speak and Caius replied in kind.

Caius made an introduction then he gave me a prompt so I pulled up a datapad and keyed a few buttons. Two repulsor mules floated in from the entry way that the Imperials had arrived from guided by an astromech droid. Like Caius I had spent a considerable amount of time dealing with different Royal Guard captains and people to get the clearance for this. I had spent almost the entire night awake as well and I imagined the exhaustion from also having to study the same crap Caius was reading to be prepared for this presentation. Caius had encouraged me to speak earlier on our trip to the Palace. My gaze was brought on to the beautiful landscape, I had pledged my life to protecting worlds such as this one from ever again experiencing chaos and strife. I knew that in order to do that I had to be assertive with my actions. I took note of the princess’s attire. Having encounter her several times before the noblewoman always seemed to fit the clothes she wore just perfectly. I drew a lot of inspiration from her in the encounters I had with her and just hearing of her prowess and strength. I took a deep breath and began into detail as the original armor set along with the princesses suit.

Sire, Ensign Kara Runo also of his Imperial Majesty’s Military and her Imperial Majesty’s intelligence services. I’ll be aiding the Lt. Commander today with the presentation of Regent Industry’s latest products,” I paused for a moment to take another breath, this is why Caius drinks so much dam caff... "The resources we have used to generate this armor were limited In fact the original Legionnaire armor has been slow in production due to a limited supply of Phrik, the mineral material forged into the metals. Our Inquisitorial unit has been fitted with these. With the left over ore we were still able to refine enough for your royal highness's. I have begun also making the effort with the Lt. Commander here to find a steady supplier to aid in the outfitting of your royal guards of a new set of armor that I believe the Princess Alva had a hand in proposing. We actually managed to get at least three sets of that armor configuration produced also to showcase for your royal guards to use in trial” I stopped for a moment and made an inward sigh of relief. ‘Well that was easier than I imagined it would be.'

Utena had been contacted, well she had been but missed it as she was passed out in the squad barracks as she laid there getting nudged to wake up by one of the valktrie and she snorted a little before waking herself up with the sound. "I'm up ... I am up." Utena moved grabbing some of her clothing and putting it on as she moved to go to a communicator shaking her head to get the cobwebs out. "Alva you wanted me... I am coming. ah somewhere I'll let them show me." She scratched her head moving around getting dressed while walking out to go and meet her sister.

True enough, the Lieutenant Commander had been imposing on her rather frequently lately. What with all the meetings regarding the amount of work put into the recent development of their new warships, Avla felt herself running ragged trying to keep up with all the necessary arrangements to keep up with the Remnant's need for new and more advanced technology. More and more Crina's second princess found herself feeling as though she were doing so much work and she was no longer certain just how much of it was really going to help her further Crina's cause than it was just making the Remnant stronger. . . .though that wasn't a bad thing really as their ideals shared many goals, but at the same time, Alva wished for Crina to be the higher authority.

She would have given him a response to his remarking on her father's swordsmanship, but it was likely unnecessary as the King came over them anyway and began to start up a conversation. Alva didn't have to see her father's face to know that he was grinning like a madman as Caius greeted him and brought up mention of swordplay himself. Thankfully though it appeared as if he was behaving himself for the time being as he merely extended a hand to both Kara and Caius with informal care. "It is my pleasure to receive you both today then. I must apologize for your arrival being so untimely as to catch me in recreation, but then Alva has always loved to surprise others. I would say let us go inside, but my wife the Queen should be joining us out here soon as will my youngest daughter. In the meantime though. . . . .would you like to join me for a bit to chip off some of the rust Commander Flavian? I do remember you from the celebration, though I apologize most of my time was spent mingling with the admiralty and nobility for both our peoples. If you wish we can have a spare combat armor brought up for your protection."

Well perhaps he wasn't behaving himself as much as she hoped if he was asking Caius to spar. "Ah that sounds nice, but about the armor-" A ping at her side from her personal communicator would call Alva's attention aside as she apologized and backed away from the others. "Oh yes. I look forward the rest of the pieces completion for the Royal Guard. Don't let the new recruits from before deter you, their seasoned members are quite a sight, you should see my sparring sessions with their captain when she's free. Alva will most likely agree to be fitted too, though she won't necessarily go for something too flashy for now. . . . . .I mean to get all the girls pieces sometime. Alva may turn down a suit entirely though . . .she has a habit of working for any special she wants for herself. . . .ah but our sparring match Commander I want to see if this armor really does live up to its famous levels of energy resistance."

"Utena! You're late, what's going on? You were supposed to be here already and bring mother? Are you both on your way? Father is getting caught up in the new armor and challenging guests even. Get mother out here so someone can put him in his place at least." Sighing as she closed the channel, Alva hoped they wouldn't take too long as she watched Crina's King already calling for a fresh Energy Blade to be brought to Caius. Thankfully at least Utena would run into their mother the Queen quickly, Emilia Calvarona actually having been looking for Utena to see how the young girl was doing recently.

I smiled at the King’s request and offer and shook his hand. A handshake always went a long way. “Sire I would be most obliged to have a duel with you. I appreciate the offer however I’ll be dawning the Imperial Legionnaire armor that we’ve brought along. I was prepared for this possibility as I've heard you are quite the martial warrior and now that you have demonstrated such I can’t help but be glad I came prepared” I grinned looking over at the predecessor armor. I had made arrangements with the Inquisition to obtain a set of armor for this demonstration. A week prior to this I had personally tested the armor in an interrogation and trial of a rebel crinan practitioner the troops had nicknamed the berserker witch I was not above torture to achieve my means, but I will forever bear the burden of such deeds. I shook my head of those thoughts and spoke again. “If you would allow me a moment to dawn proper gear. I presume we will both be using the energy blade if you want to truly test its resistant properties?"
The Princess appeared to disengage herself from the gathering. I could only imagine why.

I accepted the Kings handshake. ‘I had exchanged pleasantries with a monarch! I need to write a bucket list now’ I had a grin the size of a wamp rat. Caius began to talk about the armor and wanting to know if he could take a moment to put it on. ‘Oh no, fething kark I don’t want to do this again’ I mean we sure we spent a considerable amount of time practicing to make this speedy. Caius even pulled a drill instructor in the room to yell and scream at us until we changed him in and out of the armor. It was that damned Sergeant Elyas… 'Ugh that man could be overboard with how serious he took things' I let loose a sigh and moved to begin the initial preparations. I had every intention of requesting a promotion in the near future. I watched as the Princess seemed to walk away in what some people would describe as a huff, ‘whatever that mean’t I guess it applies to the princess

The aforementioned Queen would run into Utena in short order, resplendent in royal attire seeing as how her armor was already prepared at the courtyard waiting for her with everyone else. Servants had caught her as she had been heading to her daughter's room to have a brief visit with the girl when they had told her that the King and Alva were waiting for them on the balcony courtyard where a sparring session was being held to showcase the new armor being developed for Oliver and herself. It made Emilia sigh hearing that Utena hadn't properly gotten up and let her know about these things like she had apparently been supposed to. The young Queen smiled pleasantly after running into her daughter as she caught up to the girl and began walking with her to the courtyard where everyone awaited. "Utena dear, I was just looking for you. You look a tad sleepy darling, are you alright? I heard your father was looking to have sparring matches, if you don't wake up he might just include you in the exercise." Laughing playfully next to her daughter, Emilia wondered how excited her husband had already gotten with his new toys.

Back at the Courtyard in question though Alva was sigh heavily as she returned to her place only to see Caius and his attendant wander off after mentioning something about getting into armor. Her father looked like he was beaming, and he was inside his armor already so actually noticing that without seeing his face had to give away how pleased the older man had to be. "That's fine! That's fine by me. After all this is where the material will be coming from right? Heck maybe one your Imperial Knights should have come out here. We've already tested it clearly that our Energy blade can't penetrate phrik and beskar and cortozone. Would love to see one of those Lightsabers in action though. . . . .ah my apologies go ahead go ahead. I'll just be waiting here."

Oh yes, the second princess was definitely sighing as she endured this spectacle.

Hold still you dolt, I can’t fit the armor properly around your torso if you keep moving! If I had a credit for every time you make a sigh or hell even when you make me sigh I swear I would have outfitted the Cradle with special torpedo tube to launch you into the frakking sun!” I let loose another barrage of expletives as I put the final touches and finished getting the armor online and fitted. I could still hear Sergeant Elyas yelling in my ear to work faster or else I was going to have to do a hundred pushups for every extra second it took… He would have been proud it took us eight minutes flat to get Caius undressed and into the armor and properly fitted. “Alright Sir, looks like you are good to go, I’ll assist you with the helmet in a moment once you have moved around

I weathered the storm of insults and expletives. She was venting and that was fine with me. The stress of numerous duties I had asked of her obliged me at this point as a person to simply listen and wait it out. She would run out of steam eventually. Thankfully Runo had the military bearing to not physically abuse me like Rae’rwna would… I stood up as she finished and began to flex and stretch in the armor. It was cumbersome. My thoughts drifted to the first and thus far only time I used this piece of armor. I had taken a personal interest in the Crinan Practitioner we had apprehended after the bombing. We needed intelligence on certain aspects of the rebels and find out if they had any contacts that could be leaked to for the arbitrator. It was sadly a fruitless venture and the hours of torture revealed nothing. The witch still had her uses though…

I raised my fists in a boxing manner and gave a few jabs. The king had mentioned wanting to see a lightsaber in action. I had approached the Empress if any of her knights or her husband’s knights would be available but they seemed to be busy with different assignments. In fact our Imperial Knights were few in number. In comparison to the Crina Royal Guard the Imperial Crown had a smaller security detail. I glanced at the astromech which carried a gift from the Empress inside. I had garnered her attention after undertaking Kalee as my mission and for my services gave me much sway. This interest led to an audience and discussion on the future of the Imperial Remnant that I felt unusually privy too. The Empress had also lent me her own personal light saber as she mentioned that her friend the Crinan Queen has spoken of the King's excitement over the potential of the armor. I would reveal that little secret later perhaps. I"m sure the king would be delighted to see the full potential of the armor. For now though the first few duels would be to get to know the man.

I was a bit sluggish at first in my steps as I moved around. The Legionnaire armor was of thicker ilk than the Crinan successor. It was designed to mitigate the harsh and brutal slash or cuts of the lightsaber.
Well now I think we have kept them waiting long enough. Shall we?” I beckoned for her to follow and we returned to the court yard a moment later.

Sire, I believe I am ready for this first round of dueling. Perhaps Princess Alva would you care to join in the second round? We could perhaps do a free for all melee. If I recall from watching on the holo pay per view you are quite the swordswoman yourself? I'm sure Ensign Runo could assist you with the armor?” I broke an inviting smile climbed up into the ring with some assistance from the King.

While everyone in the courtyard awaited the return of the Lieutenant Commander and his aide, it appeard as though Utena and the Queen finally arrived to join in on the spectacle, much to Alva's delight and dismay. At least if the face their mother had on her face meant anything, Alva guessed she was a little disappointed she hadn't been contacted when she was supposed to make an appearance. "You're late Emilia is everything alright? I thought you were missing or ill when you didn't appear." The King stood at the ready waiting to see Commander Flavian return in his return, not even really sparing his attention elsewhere as he waited eagerly. "Ah! I'm sorry Oliver, but I happened to take a stroll and poor Utena here had to run ragged looking for me." Sure she did, Alva knew Utena had slept in. She really hoped father would coerce her into sparring too as punishment. The thought made Alva grin, though she hid it when the Queen looked her way and smiled in greeting.

More perhaps would have been said in exchange between the members of the Royal Family were it not for the timely appearance of Caius resplendent in the Legionnaire armor that the Imperial Remnant had developed. It was. . .truly intimidating armor. The bulky frame of the massive suit enough to instill fear and give off imposing strength, but the energy wings extending from its back cemented the feeling of greater power that rose off the protective suit. Crina's Queen blinked in surprise as she was not fully caught up yet on the ongoings of the balcony courtyard's sparring scenario just yet. Meanwhile the King could be seen loosening up in shock at the build of the armor before him, but it quickly turned into a challenging stance as a laugh erupted from beneath his helm as he aided the Lieutenant Commander in reaching the ring.

"I might very well do so Commander Flavian, though my sister should as the one out of practice. I admit wanting to test the armor myself a little still. . . ." There was no time to talk though as Oliver Calvarona backed away from Caius to the other edge of the ring they were atop. "Now now let's settle who goes next after we see how this goes first!

"Only one blade dear Oliver? Have you gotten stiff in old age or are you giving the young guest a handicap?"

"You know I prefer one, and guest or no he seemed more than prepared for this. If you're ready then Commander."

Testing his footing the King of Crina would await for Caius' all clear, before lunging forward, his armor fitted to him allowing his movements to range much more freely as came straight at his foe quickly, just before touching off his right foot and turning his sword backwards and giving a mighty swing. Thus he intended to sidestep a quick counter swipe and if he got the blow in, meaning if his step barely got him out of the way of his opponent's own counter and surprised him,he would press off his enemy's armor to continue to get behind him. He would see just how skilled Caius was and how protective the armor was.

If you’re ready then Commander” I gave a nod that I was ready after Kara fitted the helmet on my head. She leapt off and stood by the princess. I activated the sword and held it in my left hand. I was very much a gambler and decided to hedge my luck on the armor. The king had made quite the bold move. The King’s form looked to anticipate a counter to the broad swing. ‘Well now I was not expecting such a headlong charge’ I remained grounded with my body perpendicular to King Oliver. I kept my right foot behind so that I may pivot if necessary. With each bounding step I took a breath. The seconds pounded away as I struggled to keep my heart rate down. My plan was to rely on the armor as if I would use a metal shield.

The endurance to wear this armor required intensive conditioning. The Imperial Armor was designed for Non Force Users to be able to fight on somewhat more equal terms against a force user. The Inquisitors whom this armor was intended for were utter zealots to the Imperial cause, men and women whom the Emperor himself had chosen. I called them Inquisitors because they were tasked with tracking down and eliminating rogue force users or countering them on the field of war. I was but a shadow of the true bearers of such fortitude and resilience.

I pivoted on my back foot while sliding my left foot 15 degrees to the right. As my lower half moved I switched which hand I held my blade in. I then shifted my weight down and moved my right shoulder up to use the pauldron in absorbing the strike of the King’s blade. Sparks sputtered off the black armor as the blade cut a shallow scar searing into the black pauldron with the blades tip sizzling against the gorget. As his blade struck the armor I brought my arm up allowing the couter to help push the blade up. My hand barely grasping the King’s arm. With my own blade I launched a stab straight for the chest.
The down side to this armor was in comparison to the king’s armor it was a little heavier and not as agile. Eventual improvements on its design would be needed. My movements would be taxing on my own endurance…

"Oh my. . ."

Crina's Queen spoke thoughtfully as the exchange was made between the two men, Alva watching closely as she noticed her father's excitement had turned into an aggressive pattern of attack, which led to quite the unexpected turn of events. It was to be expected that the King would attempt some form of fancy footwork as tended to be his won't during times of intense swordplay, however, it normally wasn't like him to end becoming quite caught off guard by someone clearly slower than himself. Alva could tell that suit the Lieutenant Commander was in was uncomfortably heavy and that the Imperial officer was being weighed down by it. However, for him to disregard the speed difference completely had been something likely no one had thought would happen.

After all, for most people assembled, in fact for most people on the battlefield, it was likely suicide to them to see someone so casually take a blow like that.

Although it was clear as they watched that it was obvious why Caius had left himself so open. Because he had nothing to fear. Crina's King had expected the armor to resist his Energy Blade of course, but he hadn't thought his opponent would let him have the blow freely. It made him leave himself open as he did not closely watch his enemy's arm reach up as the Commander turned with him and grabbed his arm before he could truly disengage as he had intended. His blade had only managed to leave a light scar from the heat of the energy weapon, but no cut, no gouge, nothing of worth. It was truly amazing material and it showed how far behind Crina's vaunted energy blade was behind famed lightsabers if a lightsaber would have more effect on something as incredible as this.

The King would have laughed had the fight permitted, but as it was he was already having to act as his foe stabbed for the center of his chest. Unlike Caius, Oliver Calvarona had no intention of relying solely on his equipment, even if he did want to see how truly effective it was. With a smile on his face reflecting his pleasure and excitement for the fight, even if his opponent had let him hit him to show off his lack of fear of harm, Crina's King King released his two handed hold on his weapon. Allowing it to fall from his trapped hand he flipped the other hand holding it, almost making a casual swatting motion to the side as he knocked the blade to the side where it would skim the very edge of his own armor, though Oliver ignored its effects as he stepped in close and presented his opponent with a headbutt utilizing as much force as his height and forward motion allowed in an attempt to convince Caius to release his arm. "Sly one eh? I may just turn up the heat then if you've got more coming."

"Well I guess its good I did come. . . I'd hate to lose more of the flowers to a misfire. . ."

Utena finally arrived well kind of as she stood there looking around and was straightening her hair. The blonde short cut looked bad compared to some, she had cut it herself because rebelling against her parents was useless when she could do what she wanted so she had tried it to show the squad she knew what she was doing while she moved entering the area and seeing her older sister with a smile on her face and ignoring the others in the room. "Alva." She said it louder then needed but her excitement was there for all to see while she almost bounced up and down.
