- Appearance -

When compared to an average human, Pharazon is a towering and imposing figure. Standing at a little over two metres tall Pharazon is substantially taller than most other humanoid beings and maintains exceptional body posture, maintaining at all times a powerful and disciplined bearing. He possesses narrow hips and slightly broader than average though not excessively wide shoulders for his size. Additionally, his body boasts substantial amounts of lean, proportionate, and defined muscle mass.

His chiselled, angular and symmetrical facial features and strong jawline betray and emphasise both his Hapan heritage and the facial structures common to his father’s family. This potentially attractive quality is potentially further amplified by his blemish free skin, immaculately cut void black hair, clean shaven face and shining emerald eyes. His pale skin shows no sign of tanning given his noble upbringing requiring little manual labour or time in the sun. Additionally, he possesses a genetic abnormality that severely reduces his body's ability to produce skin tanning agents, potentially a result of the ‘insular’ and ‘selective’ Hapan breeding practises of his ancestors. Consequently, his skin is abnormally pale unless he gets regular sun exposure, in which case he is just normally pale.

As a result of his injuries sustained in heavy combat during the fighting on Kaeshana within the ruins of the capital Santassia, Pharazon now bears a great scar upon his once unblemished face from below his right eye to just below his mouth. Additionally, numerous blaster and blade scars now mark his body on his chest, lower abdomen, right thigh, and both arms, however, these are hidden by his clothing. His little and rings fingers on his left hands which were lost during the fighting were also replaced by cybernetics.

As a result of his injuries sustained in heavy combat during the fighting on Mustafar upon the ashlands near the Mensix Mining Facility as part of his efforts to secure the safety of a certain Grand Moff, Pharazon's right leg was amputated above the knee and has been replaced with a cybernetic prosthetic.

- Personality -

  • Patient
  • Ambitious
  • Perfectionist
  • Methodical and orderly
  • Determined
  • Prone to great internal passion and emotions but outwardly austere
  • Substantial internal emotional conflict
  • Cultured and refined
Pharazon desires to better himself in every way, so that he may aid himself and others in anyway he can and remove the shackles of arbitrary social station and disorder from his and others lives. He outwardly aspires to the highest moral principles and character, to be selfless, gentle, kind, respectful, and treat all those around him no matter class or social station with the same respect he has for himself. However, this is merely a facade. While he does not wish arbitrary harm on others, neither does he truly believe in these principles and only really embodies them around his sister Elenthyia and closest friends. Around most others the front is merely a means to an end and hides his contempt for most other Hapans.

While genuinely pleasant company when engaged in kind, his mirth can be great, he does not seek social engagements and frequently keeps to himself, especially during his gigantic melancholies of introspection and deep thought.

Pharazon is also highly inquisitive and contemplative, always asking how or why things worked the way they did or why they did not. As he grew older this changed from childlike fascination into a growing obsession with assimilating knowledge on all subjects to utterly eclipse his supposed betters. He will attempt to learn everything and anything he can, and will not allow knowledge to be withheld from him resulting in him being willing to lie, steal, deceive, an manipulate anything or anyone to claim what he desires.

In response to constant declarations of his primitive, bestial, or inferior nature, Pharazon also possesses an obsessive desire for physical and mental improvement and perfection. He diligently applies himself to all tasks set before him, willing himself to rising above all challenges and transcend his weaknesses. Some may describe this as edging toward arrogance, even if well founded on his abilities in some areas in his own mind.

However, there lurks a darkness inside Pharazon, behind his compassion, his empathy, his desire to help others, a specter of hate and of fear. Behind his compassion, hatred. Behind his empathy, a willingness to lie, manipulate and dominate. But most frightening of all to Pharazon is the deepest, darkest recesses of his mind, is the reasoning behind his desire for perfection that emerges during his darker periods of thought. There lies an obsession to defy all expectations, an all consuming desire to become so capable and powerful so as to crush all those who have stood before him, to hear their lamentations, apologies and pleas for mercy. His desire has grown to such levels of suppressed hubris that even though he hates himself for it, he aims to become the most perfect lifeform to have ever existed. Consequently, he has contempt for the weak but mainly just pities them, he reserves his true contempt for those that could change themselves or circumstances but lack the will to do so. Which, in turn, makes him hate himself even more as he does not desire to conflicted this way.

Rage, bitterness, jealousy, and arrogance also dwell within every thought, threatening to overwhelm his every action.

Fear, however, is the paramount of his darkest emotions. Afraid of his actions and afraid of himself. This fear would consume him if not for his constant, endless, drive for perfection. However, this has also created a fear of failure. These fears drive all of his actions, in particular his current state of mind as previously he could control his ‘darker’ emotions, but recent events have shattered his mental stability and resilience. He also feels intense feelings of guilt over his actions, further disrupting his previously resolute moral compass and making actions and behaviours previously unthinkable a distinct possibility in his mind. it is the fear and guilt of what he has done that haunts him. The fear of what he is capable of with the force, of how his darkest thoughts, feelings and desires are taking control. The fear that drives him ever onwards and down the yawning abyss of the dark side even if he does not yet know it.

The circumstances of his departure from Hapes, however, opened the door to personality volatility and change. Pharazon will doing anything necessary to survive and address the chaos he perceives polluting the galaxy. He is a man of great passions, great conflict, and at times great contradictions.

His time in First Order Stormtrooper Corps training and indoctrination has steeled Pharazon to some extent and enhanced his inherent discipline and orderly characteristics, however he remains deeply emotionally unstable beneath the surface. Whether the order and structure of the First Order will significantly alleviate this only time will tell.

- Strengths and Weaknesses -

Strengths:

  • Powerful Physique:
Due to rigorous training since the age it was safe to begin, Pharazon has cultivated and perfected an exquisitely powerful physique. This strength and endurance allows Pharazon to excel at many physical tasks and exertions.
  • Additionally, as a result of his finely honed muscles and exercise regime, Pharazon is also more agile and flexible than average, though not to any noteworthy degree.

[*]Intelligent:
  • Pharazon was born with what some have described as a towering intellect and quick wit. He has an exceptional capacity for learning and logical thought.
  • Consequentially, he is able to quickly critically analyse situations and people’s actions in order to formulate a response or strategy.

[*]Cunning:
  • Years of being exposed to and maneuvering through the plots of his own family and rival nobles has given Pharazon a certain talent for discretion, observation, and manipulation.

[*]Attractive:
  • Pharazon’s predominantly Hapan genes grace his features with a potentially distinctly attractive quality, from a certain point of view.
  • Needless to say this is subjective and not an objective strength.

Weaknesses:
  • Obvious:
Due to his large statute, Pharazon is an obvious, striking, and memorable figure which makes sneaking or hiding difficult, complicating anything involving stealth or espionage. Additionally, given his height he is also memorable for a human, which when combined with his Hapan appearance makes him easy to remember and isolate in one's memory.

[*]Large target:
  • Another unhappy side effect of his size, is that there is more of him to shoot, cut off, stab, or harm in various other unpleasant ways. This in turn means he must devote more energy to defence or to finding cover in some circumstances to avoid dying embarrassingly.

[*]Effective night blindness:
  • Pharazon has fully inherited the Hapan trait of night blindness despite his non-Hapan father. In levels of low light not a problem to many, Pharazon’s vision can barely see and in average darkness he is effectively blind.

[*]Illegitimate, Obsessive and Suspicious:
  • As a result of the illegitimate nature and upbringing on Hapes, Pharazon may come into contention with any nobles or others who put stock into ideas of noble birth. If discovered, this could also be used to taunt him given his feelings concerning his upbringing and family.
  • Furthermore, it has had a substantial effect on his self esteem and sense of self and has contributed to his perfection complex and deep suspicion of most other people

- Biography - Will undergo significant re-writes soon

Pre-Birth

If not for the identity of his father, Pharazon’s birth would have been welcomed and heralded even amongst the matriarchal society of the Hapes Consortium. He would have been born a son of nobility, born within the very halls of the Fountain Palace itself and even with a very limited connection to the Royal family. Not directly related to the Queen Mother of course; but linked close enough to her by a great sea of dubiously related cousins vying for position and status to be a member of a of wealthy and powerful noble house within the Consortium. He would have had limited influence given his birth as a male, but he would have possessed neither wants nor cares given the wealth of his mother, and have been linked to the eventual power of his sisters. He would likely have been married off to some noble heiress of an influential house or foreign dignitary to secure new alliances or business contracts for his family. Likely, he would have lived and died happily, extravagantly, and with nothing to claim as his own, secluded within the Hapes Consortium and Transitory Mists as had his ancestors on his mother's side had for thousands of years.

If not for his father.

If not for the circumstances of his conception and birth.

If not for what his family did to him.

Pharazon was born to Lady Beothyia Xienar of Hapes, a member of the royal family and distant branched off cousin of the Queen Mother, and Pharazoth Draken. His father was an Cronese noble and wealthy industrialist. Lady Beothyia was very social prior to Pharazon’s birth and took great delight in meeting the differing peoples and cultures of the galaxy in a variety of events and benefits she would run for businesses and charities. It was during one of these she and her husband Isalver met their soon to be close friend Pharazoth, who was conducting business in the Hapes Consortium.

The pair met Pharazoth and quickly became fast friends. Given the long term nature of his business interests in the Consortium, Pharazoth was able to spend long periods of time at the fountain palace’s various functions spending many pleasurable hours with Beothyia and Isalder. Furthermore, he became a semi-permanent fixture in their family estate, even being granted his own rooms in the estate.

Pharazon, however, would not have been if not for the death of Beothyia’s first husband, Isalvar, in a rather unfortunate boating accident on one of the many beautiful lakes of Hapes. Beothyia had loved Isalver dearly, having been one of the lucky few who find love with their arranged partners. His death shattered Beothyia to her very core, she refused to leave her quarters, even going so far as to distance herself from her young twin daughters. Into her grief came her long term friend and confidant Pharazoth. Both mourning the loss of Isalder, they found each others arms for a single night of ill advised, grief fuelled passion. Pharazoth would then shortly after be forced to return to Alsakan, given the death of his father and his inheritance of his title. Beothyia was further distraught by this and swore never to speak or contact him again. They parted ways sourly, both with regret in their hearts.

Birth

As these things tend happen, nine months later Pharazon was born. His mother had been considering giving him away in order to avert the inevitable shame that it would bring to her family and to herself. However, just when she thought she had decided to have him given to some commoner family with a large credit transfer and an oath of silence, she looked at the new-born Pharazon in his crib, and could not look away. She had effectively kept the pregnancy and birth secret and had no reason to keep him. He was illegitimate, male, and a tool for her enemies to use against herself and her family. However, she could not bring herself to abandon her own child, not when he reminded her so much of her and Isalver’s young twin daughters, and more troubling given her continuing grief over Isalver, Pharazoth. He smiled at her, and at that, his fate was sealed.

So it was that Pharazon remained in the royal palace, though of course he could not be legitimized, that would be excessively scandalous, more so than his very existence. His birth was quietly announced to the court with no fanfare, this alone brought great shame upon Beothyia and the entire house but if he was to live with them he would not disgrace them by being hidden and later exposed. She did not inform Pharazoth of his son’s birth or even that she was pregnant.

Childhood

Pharazon’s early childhood was lonely. He was kept secluded in the Royal Palace and various family estates out of the eyes of the public the prying eyes of the court. He was predominantly raised by his uncle Lithaldor and various nannies and servants, rarely seeing his mother, and even less frequently being acknowledged by her.

While young Pharazon wanted desperately to be close to his sister Bethelthyia, she had little time for her ‘half-breed’ brother even at a young age. His sister Elenthyia and he, however, bonded almost immediately. They would play and run through the halls of the palace none the wiser of the forces that would attempt to destroy their relationship.

One of Pharazon’s fondest childhood memories was how Elenthyia would read to him, from bedtime stories and fables to novels, she read to him from the time she could read and he a baby, to the time he was reading on his own and even then she kept up the habit much to his childhood chagrin. Another of his dearest memories were the times he spent with his uncle that inspired his initial love of learning and fostered a much needed sense of belonging and stability. His uncle also helped shield Pharazon from the worst abuses and harsh truths of the Consortium and his low status in it during his childhood, but it was still at times lonely and confusing for Pharazon whenever he interacted with his other family or other non-servants.

He also did not understand his mother’s seeming lack of all affection for him but he was able to partially bury it by befriending various servant children as well as becoming close friends with his open minded and innocent noble cousins, Norathyia and Wilver Satinar.

Early Adolescence

However, as he reached puberty, the cracks in the marble and gold mask of the Consortium became more evident to Pharazon, and the blood, suffering and oppression holding up the facade began to surface. It was at around the time of his early adolescence when his treatment at the hands of other nobles and assorted ‘well to do’ people changed drastically. Previously, they had kept their comments concerning his birth and bloodline to themselves, though he had always been taunted and the subject of incredibly disparaging and hurtful remarks from the ladies of court He was frequently reminded of his status as a ‘half-breed’ illegitimate, hit by nobles if he strayed too close to them, ignored, or simply ejected from rooms if the people inside could not tolerate his ‘filthy’ ‘degenerating’ presence.

During this time Pharazon’s mood lowered drastically as the stark reality of his place in society was made brutally clear to him. Servants, even their young children whom Pharazon had played and made friends with began to avoid him to escape the ire of Pharazon’s mother, other nobles, and their own patrons for associating with him. His mother ignored it all and his uncle could no longer protect him as he was subject to the same treatment himself despite his high status as his mothers closest advisor and former naval officer. Lithaldor would protect him when he could, deftly talking nobles down from their more excessive cruelties or quietly arranging accidents or schedule changes to harm or keep away the worst nobles. However, from his own experience even as a legitimately born male, he knew this would not solve the problem. Withdrawing in on himself, Pharazon became even more isolated, refusing even to interact with the servant children who still saw him as one of them. Fear ruled Pharazon’s mind and it permeated into every one of his actions. He refused to talk at all to most people, only speaking to his father, sister Elenthyia, and close friends Norathyia and Wilver, and Louis, a servant boy a few years older than Pharazon, on the rare occasions he talked to anyone.

The plight of the servants and male underclass was made abundantly apparent to Pharazon. In the few outings his uncle would take him on, with or without his mother’s permission, showed him all he needed to know. Servants openly beaten and persecuted on the streets, males beaten in clear view by guards or members of the police for “disrespecting” their womanly betters or for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Even when he was confined to the palace he could see it, servants treated even worse than in public, imprisoned or “disappeared” for even minor infractions. Rather than galvanise him to fight for justice and equality, or encourage empathy for other males in his situation, it filled him hate for the Hapan government and contempt for those who were not strong enough or lacked the will to resist. He witnessed and was forced to witness atrocities, swearing to himself as a result that he would never be subjected to the will of another or weak enough to be used.

All the while he was forced to maneuver, escape, or even form his own plots within the great game of intrigue played by the nobles in the court simply to stay ahead of assassination, humiliation, or kidnapping. It made him fearful, paranoid, furious and more cunning than most.

Early Adulthood

As he grew older, however, Pharazon resolved to no longer be a pawn to be used by his mother to insult guests or by anyone else for any other reason because of his gender and social status. Neither would be continue to be used against his mother and hide when their was even a whisper of a threat against him. Nor would he engage in the great game. He decided he would no longer be used by the nobles games, it was time to leave the court, it was time to find some escape from his existence of fear, self-loathing, hate, and envy. With his academic results he applied to the most prestigious university in the Consortium, and with a recommendation from his uncle, managed to secure a military scholarship and assured commission in the Hapan Royal Navy once he completed his academic and military studies and other required training. He would study at university, while also completing basic Naval training and attending a Royal Navy officer’s academy. Needless to say, Pharazon was glad that it would take years to do, years away from the worst of noble squabbling, and years completely away from the Court and his mother.

So it was that without telling any of his family save his uncle and his sister Elenthyia of his intentions, he left his family and the court behind. Pharazon believed and hoped to be finally rid of his mother and other sister and to never again be embroiled in the petty intrigues of the nobility. Pharazon hoped to finally to create his own place in Hapes, and escape the confines of his family where he never truly felt he belonged.

Reconciliation

After long years of study at university and the Royal Naval Academy, and some time of active duty, Pharazon returned to Hapes a new man and a Lieutenant in the Hapan Royal Navy. His years away and education had made him realise the value of his family, and to recognise the pain and awkward situation his birth had caused his mother given what was occurring in her life. The military had given him purpose and a sense of belonging he had never had while in the Fountain Palace, he was still treated as a male, but the military did not deny his talent and rewarded him for it. While he could not completely accept everything his mother had done to him, with the help of his uncle he learned to forgive her and his conniving and unpleasant sister. Connecting with his uncle, who he had never stopped communicating with even while at university and purposely cutting himself off from his friends and siblings, Pharazon set in motion his return.

Pharazon’s return was supposed to be a joyous homecoming. It was supposed to be an opportunity for Pharazon to show his noble mother, his beloved sister Elenthyia and not so beloved sister Bethelthyia as well as all those of his house that he wanted to make amends. He was going to say all the things he should have said, all the apologies, acknowledgements and expressions of emotions he should have done before storming off without a word to his family after his rejection of the great game and court life.

After arriving back at his family’s estates in the country things appeared to go exactly as Pharazon had dreamed. There were tearful reunions with his both of his sisters, even Bethelthyia. Even his mother, who had decided in his absence to formally declare him her legitimate son, was overcome with emotion. For the first time in his life on the day of his return to Hapes, he embraced, and was embraced by, his mother; he was her son at last. She had finally overcome her conflicted feelings, they could finally be a family regardless of gender or social standing. That night, Pharazon went to sleep as happy as he ever had, he had a family, a purpose, and something to fight for and protect from the at the time considered inevitable Sith Invasion after the effective collapse of the Republic in the Core regions.

Departure From Hapes (Occurred prior to Hapes occupation by One Sith)

However, as with Pharazon’s entire life, good things are as transitory as the mists surrounding Hapes. He awoke to fire, smoke, and death. An explosion had rocked his family's country estate at which they were staying, dozens of servants many of which were Pharazon’s friends were dead, his sister Elenthyia was gravely injured and was on the verge of death before being urgently hospitalised and lapsing into a coma. Louis was dead, Pharazon's closest friend and companion outside his beloved sister, snuff out in a horrific manner, with the manner in which his body was unceremoniously disposed of, in spite of Pharazon's objections, feeding the hate in Pharazon's heart once again. In the following weeks, Pharazon and his uncle devoted every waking hour to finding those responsible. Pharazon took leave from the military and devoted all of his abilities and his old spy network and collected data to find those responsible. However, they were unsuccessful and Pharazon was compelled to return to active duty with the Navy.

Just his uncle had informed him over holocom that he thought they were getting close to identifying the offending house, the matriarch of House Satinar, the house of Pharazon’s closest friends, announced in front of the entire court that they had evidence identifying the attacker. Evidence that directly implicated Pharazon as the sole mastermind and participant in the attack. His mother as a result of her grief was taken in by this evidence and completely disowned Pharazon, declaring him no son of hers, effectively rendering him as a non-person in Hapan society. That was not all, as a result of this ‘evidence’ his arrest and execution were ordered and distributed to the ship he was serving on.

Many of his comrades in the Navy were hesitant to carry out their orders but many were not, in a chaotic night Pharazon’s ship fell into chaos as the crew split over whether to carry out the orders. Tensions about the nobility, the legitimacy of the evidence, loyalty and opinions about Pharazon, males, and those with questionable birth boiled over as comrade fought comrade with blaster, knife, tooth and nail. Many tensions over the alleged allegiance of the involved families, with accusations of being sith or republic supporters were flung at House Xienar, Satinar and individual members of the crew. After a pitched battle and with the blood of many on his former comrades on his hands, Pharazon and the other survivors who had protected him escaped in a squadron of stolen starfighters. The group fled the destruction of the Battle Dragon and went their different ways out into the Transitory Mists, no longer welcome in the Consortium after their act of mutiny and treason.

Fleeing past the Transitory Mists and the only life and culture he had ever known, Pharazon was filled with hate for those that had betrayed him, and fear for what lay ahead. Screaming internally in the shady transport he had hired after ditching the starfighter, Pharazon looked toward the future. Looking upon the mists, he vowed someday he would return, and that he would remake Hapes into something worthy of his sister, and leave none of those that had harmed her, House Satinar and their ilk, alive.

Now, several months later after his flight from Hapes while still on the run from the his enemies in the Consortium, here begins Pharazon’s tale against a backdrop of betrayal, galactic war, and everlasting chaos...

Fugitive - Arc 1

Under construction.

Conscription into the First Order - Interlude

Finally, after many months of running, fighting, smuggling, and pledging future debts Pharazon had finally acquired a ship, the will to do what was necessary, and enough credits to plunge deep into the outer-rim of the galactic south. Navigating his way into the then small, isolated, and relatively unknown fascist First Order, Pharazon attempted to set himself up on the backwater planet of Lipsec under a false identity crafted in the form of the many foppish Hapan nobles Pharazon had known or was related to. However, as was seemingly the central theme of Pharazon’s life, things did not go as planned.

The agents of his family finally caught up to him and forced a confrontation. When he emerged from the confusion and fires of that battle with the aid of an unlikely benefactor with his own sinister motives within the First Order, Pharazon was presented with a choice. Serve, or die. Pharazon chose to kneel.

He knew after losing so many agents his enemies could no longer chase him without Royal backing from the Queen Mother herself after so public a battle between Pharazon and the agents even on a backwater like Lipsec reaching the ears of many within the Royal Court. That backing, given the public embarrassment the deaths of their agents had caused for his sister and House Satinar would not come Pharazon knew.

However, Pharazon also knew that after being effectively captured by the First Order he was now in potentially far more danger, and so he took his saviour’s offer, pledging himself to another man, another cause, knowing full well he knew nothing of their motives. Only that refusal would mean death. A part of him, however, relished this new opportunity, he had seen how brutal and chaotic life was on the rim and in the seedier places of the galaxy and had now come to believe that maybe an iron fist was needed to rule. Not like the gloved, incompetent guiding hand of the Hapan Queen Mother, but a disciplined military society like the First Order.

So it was that Pharazon was conscripted into the Stormtrooper Corps of the tyrannical First Order, passed the long and gruelling indoctrination and training regime, and was commissioned as a Lieutenant likely a result of his benefactor calling in a shadowy favour from someone in the Stormtrooper Corps command structure. His prior experience as a Lieutenant in the Hapan Royal Navy may have played a part, but now Pharazon was a dedicated ground pounder, ready to crush those who opposed the First Order.

Stormtrooper - Arc 2, will be properly fleshed out, until then it will primarily be a summary.

Current arc.

Following heavy combat on the planet Kaeshana, Pharazon was promoted to the rank of Captain for his skill and courage in leading his troopers through the horrors they faced within the ruins of the capital Santassia. It was here that Pharazon's first concrete suspicions of his connection to the force also began to form, shrouded in fear, self-loathing, and dark ambition as he began to contemplate the possible explanations of his experiences from within his mind while he was unconscious and being being operated upon.
