OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION
PHYSICAL INFORMATION

  • Age: 36

  • Force Sensitivity: Knight

  • Species: Mon Calamari

  • Appearance: Perit appears to be a compact short male Mon Calamari, with splotchy, salmon-colored skin and large, yellowish eyes. He is known for wearing practical utility clothing when on his own, especially when exploring the wilds of space. This is typically a jumpsuit paired with a cargo vest to carry different tools to keep his ship operational. When on duty as a Directorate officer, he wears a species-tailored version of “Directorate Blacks”.

SOCIAL INFORMATION

  • Name: Perit (Directorate Codename: “Dasher”)

  • Loyalties: Gir Quee, Directorate, Hast

  • Wealth: Middle Class – As working professional, Perit has managed to accrue enough wealth to live comfortably with occasional splurges on luxuries.

  • Notable Possessions: Simiyiar light freighter Blue Drifter, LE-series Repair droid LE-8M12, LPD-11 Heavy Blaster Pistol, Carabello armored clothes, various mechanic and electronic tools

  • Skills:

Instinctive Astrogation: Perit started using instinctive astrogation before he was aware that he was force-sensitive. After learning of his ability, he has managed to hone this ability through some instruction from jedi of the old Galactic Republic and from holo-crons, but a good deal amount of this skill is also due to trial and error along with simple luck.

  • Precognition: Largely due to his foolhardy method of learning, Perit has developed a fine gut feeling of danger. While this rarely tells him what exactly that danger is, those around him have learned to rely on it.

  • Shift Sense: Perit's life among the stars has led him to develop the ability to shift his senses through the force to better know and understand his surroundings in the void.

[*]
Personality: Perit is known for being unusually self-confident and even aggressive by mon calamari standards, though in the context of the galaxy at large, he seems to be a straight-talking and protective individual who is little rough around the edges. Perit is known to occasionally start arguments, just to try and draw out people's true motivations when he feels like they're not being up front and honest with him. He has a tendency to champion different people and outside political causes within Directorate High Command, earning him a reputation as being one of the interventionalist's foremost leaders within that organization.

COMBAT INFORMATION

  • Weapon of Choice: LPD-11 Heavy Blaster Pistol, starships

  • Combat Function: As a naval officer, Perit is known a decisive commander known for following his gut and instinct. He frequently finds himself acting as the chief navigator and helmsman in larger Directorate fleets that he does not out right command.

Helmsman: Perit is an exceptional helmsman in starship engagements, not only because of his natural skill refined over decades spent in the fringes of known space, but because of his ability with the Force. While he does not possess traditional fighting force-powers, his ability to use sense-type force powers can augment a ship or fleet's combat potential.

  • Tranquil Mind: Like many Mon Calamari, Perit has a natural calm and demeanor even in the face of overwhelming adversity or while under psychic attacks. This natural calmness is bolstered by mental training from his Jedi instructors on how to better resist mental manipulations.

  • Limited Combatant: Perit is fairly limited as a conventional combat being capable of wielding a blaster pistol with a moderate amount of skill, and has just enough tactical understanding and physical fitness to be able to hold his own (but not decisively beat) the average soldier in a fight.

  • Emotionally Unconnected: The same calmness that allows Perit to successfully act in even poor situations also makes him relatively unemotional. He's not a very inspiring leader to follow into battle, nor he is capable of intimidating opponents through his personality or reputation.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Perit was born to a pair of shipyard workers on a small coastal village on Hast. The young Perit showed a passion for traveling from an early age, driven by a sense of wanderlust and curiosity that was tempered by the cautiousness of his parents. In his adolescence, his parents gifted him with a partially-working inspection pod recently decommissioned from Hast's famed shipyards. Perit promptly began repairing it, but even used in its broken state to travel to various islands in the local archipelago. When he graduated secondary school, he used it as a down-payment along with his friend to buy an almost derelict Starlight-class Freighter, the Starshoal Bay. While they made a few unprofitable voyages with it, the freighter was eventually repossessed because of unpaid repair bills. The experience cemented Perit's love of space-travel. Not wanting to concentrate of the mercantile side of things, he became a corporate scout, which managed to sate his wanderlust for some time, but he eventually chaffed at his inability to choose his own equipment and vessel. He became an independent hyperspace scout, using a restored Star Cab for a while. The rickety ship was at least several hundred years older than the Perit himself with dated and unreliable equipment, which slowly forced the mon calamari to develop his latent force abilities. Over the next few years, he became known as “the luckiest scout” based on Hast, which led to Gir Quee meeting and recruiting him when the Directorate formed.

Perit originally saw the Directorate as a means to obtain better equipment and financial support for his adventures. But contact brought a new change,as the Directorate discovered his force-sensitivity and informed him of the true nature of his abilities. Admiral Quee connected him with some jedi that he had known from his time in service with the Galactic Republic. This led to a metamorphosis in the mon calamari, not only in honing and refining his force abilities, but also in the mon calamari's own motivations. His time training with the jedi led him to be develop a certain gravitas and appreciation of the more metaphysical things in life. He returned to the Directorate with a new drive to change the galaxy and protect its inhabitants. This led him from not being only a mere scout, but a military commander as well. He started by beginning to command recon lines during probes and raids into enemy territory, before rising up the chain of command to lead his own lines. Perit has since spent much of his time leading elements on scout missions to either establish new Directorate bases and resources or to find those of the enemy. In larger engagements, he frequently acts as the chief helmsman and navigator for Directorate forces and their allies. His almost unique abilities within the Directorate have given him a large amount of political clout, which he has used to advocate for the Directorate to focus on protecting non-aligned worlds and harassing so-called “forces of evil”, which has firmly placed him in the “Interventionalist” camp within the Directorate.
