Perfection - The Game

Geneviève was still in the process of getting situated with this office. She had been somewhat of a political voice on occasion--and quite the political theorist, having penned a thesis on a new form of government under a pseudonym--but had never acquainted herself with the chair of a true politician until now. There had been no easing into this job. She had gone for gold, and gold was what she had to maintain now.

That being said, she was well-accustomed to order and hierarchies, what with being a bit of a militant activist and all. In any organization, there were always people there whose purposes were to make this machine work. Lasedri could not do this alone, naturally. Which was why she had summoned for the current Head of Internal Relations, [member="Alyesa Organa"]. The woman had been her most favored competitor in the race for this office, and had lost by only the smallest of margins to the Chandrilan shocker. Oddly, Geneviève had been a supporter of Senator Organa prior to the election, mostly for her consistent action and emphasis on providing for the Republic's military.

Sitting at her desk and absorbed in the accounts flowing from the battlefront, Chief Lasedri awaited the arrival of Senator Organa.

Alyesa was late - sorely late.

She rushed past delegates of different species and beings of various sizes with her datapad in hand. She would apologize furiously as she made her way to the Chief of Senate's office - after being summoned politely of course. She wasn't sure why she was called, but the rumor in the inner circles was something about reorganization of the Council heads and the general need to consolidate some Council's for the betterment of the Republic itself. Of course, that was only rumors, but she wouldn't put it past this Chandrilian. If her homework was correct, the woman who narrowly defeated her in the elections was the type to shake things up and a hardliner when it came to duties and the responsibilities of the respective Councils as well as their members.

She would only be able to tell in time and during each encounter with the woman - beyond that, she was going in completely blind to who this woman was or what exactly she was about.

Alyesa would approach the door quickly and hit the buzzer, pulling her datapad close to her chest - with a deep breath, she would compose herself. She was an expert at this stuff, not some two-bit fresh Senator from an Outer Rim System. Greeting a new Chief wouldn't be that bad, would it? Maybe it was more the fact that somewhere in her mind, a sense of discomfort of being defeated by someone completely new to the field was offsetting her game.

Yeah, that had to be it.
