Intent: To create a suit of armour with an interesting camouflage system

Development Thread: If required.

Manufacturer: Ahren Panteer assisted by Iron Crown Enterprises's resources

Model: N/A

Affiliation: Ahren Panteer

Modularity: The contents of the gas spray and the poison coating for the Vibro Blades can be filled with different gasses or liquids. Other than that, no.

Production: Unique

Material: Hydrophobic Flex-armour, very thin Duraplast plates, electronic components, crystals, various metals

Classification: Stealth/Camouflage

Weight: 4 kg

Quality: 3

Special Features:

Helmet:

General:

Weaponry:

Strengths:
+ High-Tech Camouflage System: The camouflage system that coats the entirety of the suit allows the wearer to blend into almost any environment, making it hard to spot them at various distances, depending on the amount of cover.
+ Utility: The suit has various utility and protective gadgets that allow it to be useful in many situations, though the main focus was on anonymity and stealth tech.
+ Mobility: The low weight and small number of protective plates allow for an almost unaltered degree of mobility

Weaknesses:
- Camouflage Delay: Due to the still imperfect camouflage system, there is a slight delay when the camouflage system changes colours on the move, making it fairly easy to spot the wearer's movement.
- Fragile Camouflage System: Any significant kinetic hit can leave the impact zone permanently blue-coloured and any hit from a blaster or lightsaber will destroy the camouflage system in the impact zone.
- Little Protection: To keep the suit low-weight only thin plates of duraplast were used, offering little protection.

Description:
The suit was designed to be as stealthy as possible, coating the entirety of it in a high-tech camouflage system and employing various other measures and gadgets to ensure anonymity, discretion and utility in a multitude of circumstances. The suit favours mobility over protection, only employing thin Flex-armour and very thin duraplast plates coated with the camouflage system, effectively only capable of partially stopping even a glancing hit.

The main feature of the suit is a high-tech camouflage system that is made out of microscopic pockets filled with tiny crystals that are needed for the colour change. The camouflage allows the user to blend in with their surroundings, as if they were wearing camouflage paint, the main difference, however, is that the colouration and pattern can be changed on the go to adapt to new environments. The inspiration for this system came from the chameleon and its colour-changing skin. The system uses the same basic principle to create various colours, it exploits the interference pattern created by the nanometre-wide gaps between the crystals, the distances between them being regulated by a membrane that can expand or contract, thereby changing the interference, making the crystals reflect a different wavelength, thus changing the colour; And thanks to the ability to finely control the membranes, it is possible to create very detailed and complex patterns or moving images on the surface of the suit, allowing the user to blend in almost perfectly with their surroundings, at least when not moving.

The camouflage system is not completely perfect yet, thus it has a slight input-lag when changing patterns or colours whilst moving, still able to conceal the user decently from inattentive observers, but allowing intent ones to spot the movement fairly easily. Another side effect of the system is that applying pressure to the surface of the camouflage system will momentarily leave it with a blue discolouration before the pockets regain their original form. In addition, a very hard kinetic impact could permanently damage the system, leaving a blue imprint, while a hit from a blaster or lightsaber would permanently destroy the system at the impact zone, leaving a black scorch mark. A Nightshadow coating also prevents scanners to detect anything underneath the cloak, allowing the wearer to wrap themselves in the cloak to prevent the detection of weapons and other electronic components the wearer may carry.

The suits other features include gadgets that keep the wearer's identity anonymous or enhance stealth, such as a removable mask, a DimSim to obscure the face or mask, a retinal disguiser to fool retinal scan systems, a sonic dampener belt to keep the noise low, fingerprint masques to ensure no evidence is left at a crime scene, an integrated holographic doubler suit that allows for a distraction, and a voxscrambler to keep the wearer's voice disguised. Then there are those gadgets that keep the wearer protected, like the Radiation Deflection Badge, the Sonic Nullifier, as well as the Enviro Filter and Rebreather-combo; And to offer even more utility, the suit includes a wrist-mounted gas dispenser, just underneath the hand's palm as well as two knuckle plate vibro blade that coat their blades in a pre-filled liquid, giving the user the ability to employ multiple poisons during one mission without having to carry multiple vials with them. Then there is the grappling spike launcher that gives the wearer an easier time reaching high places and Magno-grip boots to allow walking in zero-g starships or on metallic surfaces.

During development the armour was given the nickname of "Invisi-Lizard", after on the Invisible-Lizard of Tatooine.

Should be fixed now. There was apparently an error that caused the link to have an additional "http://" in it.
