Intent: A flight-capable exosuit for Paladin troops
Development Thread: N/A
Manufacturer: The Paladin Consortium
Model: PC-185
Affiliation: The Paladin Consortium
Modularity: Cosmetics customization
Production: Limited
Material: Condensed armorweave, anti-ionization duraplast, combined jetpack/jumpack, various electrical systems, dual Rylith power cells, thermal gel
Classification: Aerial Combat Armor (Shock)
Weight: 11 kg
Quality:
8 vs. ion
6.5 vs blaster
6 vs lightsaber
5.5 vs ballistics
5 vs kinetic

Special Features:
  • Thermal Gel interior lining
  • Life Support systems
  • Jetpack/Jumpack
  • Advanced HUD and sensors
  • Foam Sealant (hermetically sealed)
  • Verpine shattergun (right wrist)
  • Energy sinks
  • Magnetic lock boots
  • Temperature regulator
  • Adjustable power outputs
  • Integrated reconnaissance mapping system
  • Stim pack and medpack injectors (1 each)
  • Built-in comlink
Strengths:
  • Extremely resistant to ion weapons due to duraplast reinforcement
  • Jetpack/jumpack allows for quick and deadly strikes and disappearing before the enemy has a chance to respond
Weaknesses:
  • Quite expensive to make, so the Consortium cannot afford to send vast numbers of these into battle at once
  • The jetpack/jumpack is the suit's Achilles heel. Though it is heavily armored, if it gets shot enough in the right place it can cause the entire suit to blow
  • There are armor chinks between the duraplast plates and in areas where the plates do not cover
Description:

As the Paladin Consortium expanded, it became obvious that the company would need an upgrade from its usual light combat armor. Lots of time and money was invested. Research was done. Eventually the collective came up with the Specialized Personal Aerial Combat Exosuit (SPACE) armor.

The armor's innermost layer consists of a body glove coated in thermal gel. This helps insulate the armor and provide a defense against kinetic damage. On top of that is a layer of condensed armorweave. The final layer is interconnected duraplast plates treated for ion defense with foam sealant dispersion units attached to the backs. That way, if the armor tears, the sealant will quickly deploy to plug the gap until the armor can be repaired.

Of course, the suit's main attraction is its built-in jetpack/jumpack system. The large heavily-armored pack resembles a pair of wings and can provide for up to 60 minutes of flight time on a full charge. A small tracking missile is imbedded it the top of the pack Boba-Fett style. Of course, this whole thing is a huge danger to the wearer. A few shots in the right places and BOOM! No more Paladin and no more suit. Combining the pack with the suit's life support systems can grant the user up to 30 minutes of space flight.

The suit's advanced HUD can perform a variety of roles. Some of its combat features include sight augmentations, target tracking, a pineal eye, and aim augmentations. Some non-combat features include x-ray and thermal vision, holonet access, a comlink, electrobinoculars, and advanced scanners.

Some other features integrated into the suit include energy sinks to lower the effect of energy weapons, built-in stimpack and medpack injectors, magnetic clamp boots and a small verpine shattergun installed on the right wrist. A recon mapping system allows Consortium leaders to upload maps developed by suit scanners to get a virtual map of the battlefield. The power cell is also unique in that it can change its power output and absorb additional energy through solar panels on the suit.

It should be noted that this suit is rather expensive to manufacture, making it impossible for the Consortium to send large groups of these into battle at once. Instead, it is more used as a shock troop armor to quickly hit an enemy and gain the upper hand. If used without strategic thinking, it could result in a massive loss of profit to the Consortium.

There are also areas between plates where only the armorweave protects the user. The weave is much easier to penetrate than the duraplast plates, making it a vulnerable point for enemies to exploit. The same applies for the armpits, the backs of the knees, and the elbow joints where no plates are located for mobility reasons.
