BIOGRAPHY:
Farrlo’s story is typical for many Rodians living in a humanocentric dominated galaxy. Farrlo grew up in an impoverished sector of Hutt space, where his community was marginalized and oppressed. A covert Republic weapons for drugs operation sprang up in the area in an attempt to disrupt Hutt rule, but only ended up causing the Hutts to backlash harder in the region, devastating the Rodian community.
Adolescent Farrlo, neither particularly interested in sports or ‘real’ careers found an outlet for his creative mind in Rodian Theater. He played a role in many of the dramas which, though decried as mindless displays of gratuitous violence, served to highlight the struggle of life in the community. One play went a bridge too far and an informant to the Hutts reported that the dramatists were trying to foment a rebellion.
Several days later the playwright “disappeared,” crushing the Rodian Theater in the area. Farrlo still tried to make a pittance off of his work but found it increasingly difficult. By this point he was in his twenties. He needed a way to support his family - his father had left several years ago - but didn’t want to join any of the local gangs that he thought were just causing internal conflict in his community. He turned his sights elsewhere and begrudgingly signed up for the Hutt’s mercenary army.
Five years in and he had established some connections and served in a few disgusting campaigns, but at least they hadn’t been oppressing his own community. One of the Nikto lieutenants hated Farrlo’s advancement through the ranks. He learned about Farrlo’s history in Rodian Theater and used it as a way to undermine Farrlo’s rapport with the Hutts and foment the opinion that the Rodian was a radical promoting extremist views of independence. Luckily, Farrlo learned in time and managed to escape.
In the seven years since then he’s managed to smooth things over with the Hutts, with the price that he can never return to his family. He currently works as a bounty hunter under the Guild’s protection. He sends eighty percent of his earnings back home. The Hutts take another ten percent as a fee for his family surviving.
