PATHS OF THE COVENANT
(CAREER GUIDE)​

The Covenant has a place for Sith of every kind, recognising that there are a variety of personalities, skills, and talents to deploy in the war between Darkness and Light. Many of these Sith, however, will fall into one of the five paths: Warrior, Assassin, Sorcerer, Inquisitor, and Emissary.

Some Sith will wander multiple paths or move from one to another. Others will specialise, becoming masters of their craft, from bladework to sorcery to manipulation. By taking on the paths, all will develop into potent weapons in the war against the Light.

Choosing a path is not about making a permanent choice, but rather seeking alignment between a Sith’s strengths and the goals of the Covenant, allowing them to find allies and rivals to grow stronger, and inform the Triumvirate of how to best utilize their skills.

Note: Treat this thread as a reference sheet to inform your character’s role and identity within the Covenant, rather than as RPG classes, as nothing here is strictly enforced.

GENERAL PATHS

Warriors are masters of combat and battlefield strategy, relying on the practical applications of the Force and deadly discipline with a lightsaber. Many Warriors draw their strength from inner rage, bloodlust, and thrill-seeking, though it is not unheard of for a Warrior to draw from colder emotions.

In the Sith Covenant, Warriors often find themselves on the front lines, annihilating their enemies with raw strength and leading the charge.

Example characters: Darth Vader, Kylo Ren, Darth Malak, Mercy

Assassins are experts in Stealth and the art of the Clean Kill, often using the Force to minimize their presence and outsmart their enemies. Assassins often draw their guile and killer’s instinct from fear and hatred.

In the Sith Covenant, Assassins strike and ploy from behind the battle lines, or travel across the stars to hunt the Covenant's enemies.

Example characters: Asajj Ventress, Darth Maul

Sorcerers are agents of the Dark Side itself, relying almost entirely on the Force, rituals, dark artifacts, and alchemy to amplify their abilities. While Sorcerers often draw their base power from anger and pride, they are also known to extract it from artifacts, creatures, and the universe around them.

In the Sith Covenant, Sorcerers are often the planners and strategists, deploying their power to impact entire fields of battle to the benefit of allies and the detriment of enemies alike.

SPECIAL PATHS

Inquisitors are investigators and seekers, keepers of forbidden knowledge, and exemplars of the Sith Code who challenge their fellow Sith towards that example, while rooting out the weak. Many Inquisitors come from the Sorcerers and Assassins of the Covenant, but really, an Inquisitor is only defined by their absolute resolve towards the Sith ideal and instilling it in others.

Emissaries are manipulators and spies, turning subtlety and charisma into a weapon to shape galactic politics and influence the course of nations. They may act overtly or under the guise of diplomats and civilians. What often defines an Emissary is their patience and willingness to play the long game to the benefit of the Covenant’s cause… as well as their own.
