Description:

Bullets and other sharp objects puncturing your internal organs? Speeding cars running you over? Not anymore they won't with the Particle Shield Grenade or PSG. The simple tool is easy to use, user friendly, durable, and will protect you from the most vile of angry charging animals.

The PSG is a easy to use device that has a three step deployment process. Simply flick the cap and push the button on the top. Once that is done you have about two seconds to place the generator down at about a foot or two away from you, and In approximately two seconds the shield will go off. If the grenade goes off in your hand the shield will take your hand and other extremities off.

Once the generator is deployed and activated the particle shield snaps in front of you in almost a full dome of protection about three meters around that is shown bellow.

This shield will only last three to five seconds giving you time to act in those precious seconds. The particle shield is capable of blocking explosions and kinetic force from thermal detonators, physical attacks, slug thrower fire, and small RPGs. But larger attacks such as missiles will make short work of it, it can not block energy based weaponry such as light sabers or blaster and will not disperse or absorb heat. Furthermore do not try to block ion based attacks as they will shred through the shield and destroy it.

EMPs will render these grenades worthless and cause them to short out their internal wiring. In short keep these grenades away from ion bases weaponry and they will perform for you, and before any operator gets this confused. This is not a personal shielding device, once thrown it will only block or disperse for three to five seconds before vanishing.

I understand this is simply a different version of the previously submitted grenade, but could you change up the description a bit so it doesn't seem too similar?

This is a cool idea and different enough from...well other Sci-Fi things that its fine, however what you're essentially creating is a tiny tiny shield generator and i think something like that would need a lot of work.

As such, please do a 10 post Dev thread for the development of such a small Shield Generator

I do believe that this technology is already canon. Such as the personal energy shield. These grenades are roughly the same size if not a few inches smaller. The only difference between them is that these will not stay active and only block the immediate threat. As for a shield generator canonly speaking would stay active. So development wise all scientists would need to do is take a standard personal energy shield device, gut it, remove most of it's power source so it only works for three to five seconds, then recast it in a grenade form.
