SPECIAL FEATURES
- Modularity: Yes, there are a handful of parts that can be changed, these are however limited to what is inside the hilt or for an example an emitter.
- Material:
- Songsteel
- Electrum-lining
- Diatium power cell
- Damping emitter (Songsteel) (second link)
- Adegan lens
- One crystal:
- Other standard lightsaber components (including a manual adjuster for switching emitter lenses)
SPECIAL FEATURES
- The lightsaber does not feature an activation button and is like older lightsabers: force-activated. All to prevent non-force users from taking control of her weapon. Due to the Solari crystal within the hilt, only the force-users within proximity (~2 metres) and pure of heart, are able to unlock it for her.
- The weapon features two settings for the emitter lens: A standard one and a stunning one.
- The standard features the full strength of the solari crystal and the Adegan lens. Making the blade hazardous and strong enough to cut through objects.
- The stunning option features a lower power version of the crystal through a dampening lens. This allows the blade to only stun and not seriously harm (except in rare cases)
- These lenses can be switched through a small shielded switch near the emitter, which swaps out the Adegan lens for the dampening lens and vice versa.
- Songsteel hilt: Due to the properties of Songsteel, it is highly resistant against lightsaber attacks. Though not invulnerable.
- Adegan lens: When the stun setting is not enabled, the Adegan lens works as an emitter and cause the blade to work at full power.
- Makashi: Curved-hilt lightsabers are much easier to use for duelling and Makashi. Its lightweight makes it easier to move around and carefully block and counteract your foe.
- Solari Crystal:
- Due to the kybercrystal, the lightsaber produces a wider and more powerful blade than average. Allowing for slightly more efficient defending against blasterfire and more.
- Furthermore is it completely attuned with the light side, so Malora must be pure of heart and one with the light side for it to work. When she is, using the lightsaber becomes easier for her to wield. This manifests through being able to more easily defend against her opponent.
- Switching emitter settings: Due to the nature of the damping emitter, it can turn into a stun variant that is less dangerous. Yet switching between the damping (emitter) lens and the regular (Adegan) lens requires a prolonged deactivation period to allow the mechanism inside the lightsaber to switch the two emitter lenses safely. (i.e. 10-15 seconds)
- As mentioned before this is done through a switch near the emitter itself. The switch itself is manually shielded and locked through a small switch guard.
- Not waterproof: Lacking the components required to make it work in water, the lightsaber will be useless in such scenarios.
- Cortosis: Furthermore, Cortosis will cause the blade to short out as well.
- Inner conflict:The Solari crystal requires constant alignment with the light side and can be demanding on its user. Should they be tempted by the dark side or aspects of it, the crystal will not work as well as it should.
- The crystal could also cause the lightsaber to turn off in its entirety(1), through desires for vengeance, hatred or unjustified violence.
- Soresu: Despite the Solari crystal making the lightsaber's blade wider, being able to block blasterfire is still a lot more challenging with a curved-hilt lightsaber. Requiring a higher concentration and greater risk of injury.
History:
The first version of Malora's lightsaber was forged during her years as a Jedi Padawan. Driven by youthful ambition and an interest in duellists, she sought a weapon that mirrored those aspects. In her search, she swiftly found the blueprints for a curved-hilt design and chose to forge one herself. It was simple yet refined, crafted entirely from Songsteel, a strong material her noble Pantoran family (traders and nobility) could provide with ease. The hilt held a single Solari crystal of golden hue, one that resonated deeply with her, and beyond that only the standard components required.
As her rank and experience grew, so too did her weapon. She replaced key parts with superior ones: an advanced lens to enhance the crystal's function, a better power cell that required less maintenance. Upon attaining the title of Jedi Master, Malora further adorned the weapon, commissioning electrum to line the hilt. More as a mark of her status and prestige. She also engraved moons into its design, a nod to the Moon Goddess worshipped on Pantora.
Only in recent years did Malora take a more cautious approach. Two or three years ago, she exchanged the standard emitter for a damping emitter. Out of fear that her weapon may be used to harm and kill, rather than protect.
