  • Description:

Pa'kana is a highly, devoted religion to those that practice it. Among the religion, their are several Gods and Goddesses attached to an umbrella of fauna and flora. Of the all the deities the Felcatians worship, there are four main deities, each with their own specific sect.

Metsä: She is the Goddess of the Forests and all the forest and woodland creatures. Metsä is also known to be the Mother of birth and female sexuality. She is deemed a peaceful and caring Goddess.

Vettä: The God of the rivers, seas, and oceans, he is the overseer of all water based fauna. Along with this responsibility, he is the God of weather both pleasant and violent.

Tulipalo: He is the God of Fire. Also known as the Light Bringer and the Savior. In the history of Pa'kana, he is the God that first visited the ancient Felacatians brining them fire to push away the dark and showing them the way to cook meat and vegetables, changing their diet from eating raw food.

Kuolema: She is the Goddess of Death, known as The Mother of Worms. Of all the deities in the religion, she is the most vile and evil one. Her wrath is swift and destructive. She has a malicious nature, and possesses a dark cult that worship her. The cult known as The Kult of Yhdeksän harbor sadistic practices such as but not limited to cannibalism, animal and species sacrifices. The most intriguing aspect of those that follower her via The Kult of Yhdeksän is that both genders undergo a process that makes them sterile. Each member has inscribed or tattooed on their inner right wrist a triangle made of thorns.

Each coven of The Kult of Yhdeksän is led either by a Ylipapitar (High Priestess) or a Ylipappi (High Priest). The congregation members are known as Seuraaja. Members of the this sect loosely follow the principles and tenets, each member picking and choosing which to embrace.

SOCIAL INFORMATION
  • Founder: Horin Lyr is the official founder of the religion circa 5,234 BBY.
  • Membership: All Felacatians are born into the religion, but it's up to the individual's own personal choice to pursue the faith. For those opting not to worship, there is no backlash or judgment from those that do.
  • Sacred: There are two beliefs held sacred through this religion. The first is all land, air, and sea creatures are highly sacred. It is forbidden to kill or hunt any animal for sport, except by those that don't practice the religion, and can only do so for the person of sustaining life.

The other is a ruin set on an island. It's believed this ancient ruin, once a flourishing haven, was the birthplace of Pa'kana. It's not only considered sacred and holy, but forbidden to all regardless of one's a practitioner or not. Any violators are fined or jailed for a substantial time.
  • Dogma:

    The Tenets

The most practiced tenet of Pa'kana is that each individual is their own person, responsible for their actions and free to worship spirituality through the divinity of the deities. As an individual, they are free from government or other institutes interference regarding their faith.

Freedom of Choice is the tenet allowing the individual to worship all the deities or a specific one. Those that select one or two, in some instances, conduct a meditational trance allowing the deity to choose them or discovering what a deity means to them. Most worship one or two specifically, devouting their faith to their chosen deities.

Reincarnation is a strong tenant among the religion. The concept of reincarnation is based on the individuals life style before death. In other words, if an individual lived a harmonious life the chance to be reincarnated into something sacred, even as a Felacatian again, is high. If they fell short of harmony prior to death, their reincarnated state is less appealing.

    The Principles

    1. Have respect and pride for one's self while seeking to grow your mind and body into perfection.

    2. Laws and rules set forth by the government should be honored and obeyed within reason, unless it strives to oppress the individual's belief.

    3. One shall not reveal or speak of other's shortcomings that results in another's mental or emotional pain.

    4. Pledge your friendship and aid to those deserving.

    5. Always be conscious of your actions, physical or verbally. Understand the consequences that lead to harm. Never intentionally harm another.

    6. The honor code of chivalry must be adhered at all times.

HISTORICAL INFORMATION

Around 5,234 BBY, Horin Lyr set the groundwork that led to the formation of the Pa'kana religion. Prior to the creation of the religion, the Felacatians were struggling with survival as clans and settlements waged war with one another over resources such as food, landscapes, materials, and water sources. Horin Lyr believed that if a belief system, religion, was implemented that the wars would stop; unifying the Felacatians. His vision was noble, as some settlements flocked to his theory while other settlements and clans viewed it with skepticism.

As more clans and settlements began following his ideals, Horin Lyr unveiled the tenets and principles associated with the religion, though it was the followers that began attaching the notions of deities to Pa'kana. At first Horin Lyr thought this would alienate the followers, thus forming creating the tenet known as Freedom of Choice. Unfortunately for Horin Lyr, he didn't survive long enough to witness the final unification of the Felcatians based from his religion.

As Felacat began to prosper, especially with the creation of Susi City and Kissa City, the religion began to phase out in favor of Capitalism. By the end of the Galactic Empire era, Pa'kana was a dead religion. However, there were some who still followed the religion in secret who believed the cause of the Gulag Plague and the Four Hundred Year Darkness was the direct anger from the deities once worshipped. After the events of the Netherworld, some began to revisit the old religion but their numbers were less than 10% of the planet's population.

Though the religion was being practiced by a select few, a group of religious pilgrims stumbled upon the ancient teachings of The Kult of Yhdeksän. It's unclear what they discovered or corrupted them, but the pilgrims restarted the devotion to Kuolema. Quickly The Felacatian senate sought to quell their growth, but those that practiced the religion in it's positive aspects lobbied on the cults behalf. Sadly, all it did was allow The Kult of Yhdeksän to grow in secrecy, their membership reaching it's tendrils into the Royal Family, prominent business owners, Senators, and other citizens. Today, their exact numbers are unknown but their influence is unchecked.
