DESCRIPTION

During the Clone Wars, the sight of a Protodeka hovering over the battlefield was a truly horrifying sight. Even then the metallic behemoths carved huge swaths of destruction through the battlefield, tearing enemy armor to shreds with its repeating cannons and relentlessly bombarding anything else with flurries of concussion missiles. Thankfully they never reached large scale production, and only three were ever known to have been fielded. The droids were so frighteningly powerful that the Confederacy imprisoned the very scientist that had designed it for them. With his death and the destruction of the original models and schematics, Protodeka would never again intimidate militaries of the galaxy.

Up until now, obviously.

Working in conjunction with an unimportant Sithling no one had ever heard of, Hegemonic Automaton acquired the blueprints to the original Protodeka. Lead designer Hannibal Oryen, however, saw there were improvements to be made. Improvements that ultimately made Protodeka impossible to manufacture on anything other than a per-customer basis and cripplingly expensive- to the point where anyone less than a prosperous planetary government could ever hope to afford one.

The outer shell of the new Protodeka, now known as the Padomay-1 Destroyer Droid, is made up of reinforced Dura-Armor. This and the thickness of the armor afford it a great deal of protection from most conventional weapons, as does the reinforced titanium skeleton underneath the shell. In this day and age, strong armor is hardly enough to get the job done. This was why the Padomay-1 was also built with a powerful shield generator.

Compared to other shield generators, the one attached to the Padomay-1 is little to no big deal. It will deflect most small arms fire, mitigate heavier blaster cannons, but is utterly useless against projectiles. The shield generator is also only forward-facing, meaning the rear of the Padomay-1 is completely unshielded and vulnerable to flanking maneuvers by enemy fighter craft or similarly mobile vehicles. The shield generator must also be deactivated before the Padomay-1 can make use of its seismic wave generator.

In terms of armaments, the Padomay-1 is mostly concurrent with its predecessor. Two heavy repeating cannons, two missile launchers, and a seismic wave generator mounted underneath. The missile launchers are configured to be modular, capable of wielding three different variants of missiles in its two different wings, up to fifty missiles each. These missiles will either be standard concussion missiles, defoliation missiles, or surface-to-air missiles designed to intercept incoming enemy aircraft. The repeating cannons are capable of tearing through unshielded vehicles with little hindrance and can overcome smaller shield generators after a few shots.

The seismic wave generator is a devastating weapon and certainly not one you would wish to be caught under. Infantry caught under the seismic wave will have bones broken from the initial burst and sent flying. Vehicles will be damaged severely and, likewise, sent flying. Buildings and fortifications not built to last will crumble effortlessly under it. Fortunately, the Padomay-1 is unable to simply go about using it seismic wave generator. To make use of it, its shields must be deactivated. Additionally, too much use of the seismic wave generator will result in damage to the Padomay-1’s repulsorlift, which could potentially result in the most expensive droid on the market crashing unceremoniously to the ground.

As with many Hegemonic products, the Padomay-1 comes adorned with much in the way of miscellaneous equipment. A droid sensorscope ensures that nothing escapes its horrifying visage, and a state of the art Neuro-Saav targeting system will see to it that all enemy combatants it finds are inevitably reduced to little more than ash and memories. Because Hannibal believes in going the extra mile, the Padomay-1 is also home to a vocabulator and megaphone. This enables it to taunt and demoralize the enemy relentlessly as it cuts its swath of destruction. Finally, an enlarged J2 Droid Brain enables the Padomay-1 to think more critically and more tactically than its predecessor ever could.

All potential customers are encouraged to include in their order a list of taunts they would like programmed into the droid. The Padomay-1 must be memory-wiped after every large scale engagement. Hegemonic Automaton is not responsible for the actions of Padomay-1 Destroyer Droids that achieve sapience due to customer negligence.
