History:
Hailing from the far northern tundra and ice fields of Mandalore, the Ori'edee have been periodically hunted by the Mandalorians for fur and tusk since the Taung first settled. Initially believed to be descendants of the Mythosaur beasts, modern science has shown that the Ori'edee existed alongside the Mythosaurs and, in fact, coexisted in some areas.
For the most part, the animals were left to wander the northern tundra as they were never hunted in large numbers and only a small number were needed for furs and ivory. In recent years, however, the beasts have become domesticated in some areas. Often, they're used for hauling great amounts of materials over the frozen terrain. In other areas, they're kept as zoo animals or, occasionally, a pet. However, in all cases of domestication, the Ori'edee have been trained to take riders and, often, a large platform mounted upon their backs for other riders or even small structures.
