Strengths:
Superior Defense - The Tri-scythe-class utilize the Delphus 4 shield system giving it a quad layer of overlapping shield generators and multiple defensive weapons systems to both defend itself and other escorting vessels.
Hard Hitting Forward Armament - While not as powerful as her sister the Scythe-class the Tri-scythe-class loads out ninety percent of its offensive armament to the forward firing arc.

Weaknesses:
Virtual no Broadside - The Tri-scythe-class like its predecessors has most of its armament deducted to the forward arc of fire. The ORC has further stripped the broadside weapons to increase hanger capacity and make then true carriers.
Poor Maneuvering - The Tri-scythe-class is designed as a stand off and defense vessel and maintains a forward arc on its target and has limited maneuvering thrust systems to make up for other more design useful systems.

Description:
The Tri-scythe breaks from its predecessors history of being smaller than its sister the Scythe. Built on the same hull as the new class the Tri-scythe retains most of the systems and design characteristics of the Scythe while being adapted to provide attack craft support to its accompanying escorts. The primary role of the Tri-scythe is that of support. The Tri-scythe provides both long range fire support and attack craft support to battlegroups.

The Tri-scythe-class retains its central prow spire and its weapons complement as well as the hull mounted offensive and defensive weaponry from the Scythe class. It however has had its plasma torpedo launchers removed to make room for the hanger and storage equipment needed for housing repairing and servicing its attack craft complement. This severely lessens its offensive power and retains its weakness on the broadside arcs. Two additional prow spire have been installed each containing three hangers for attack craft and one hanger for support craft.

Like her sister class, the Tri-scythe-class has quad redundancy systems, advanced layered shielding, ablative armor and an advanced hull and frame which make the vessel very difficult to engage and knock out of battle. These defensive systems work in concert with the various defensive weapon systems loaded out on the vessel. Heavy defensive batteries can engage smaller capital vessels and attack craft with equal ease while smaller laser defense batteries aid with point defense and close in interception of attack craft and projectile weapons. finally the defensive capabilities are increased by the advanced multi-warhead defensive systems which can aid in point defense long range defense, interception and electronic warfare defense.

An advanced suite of sensors and targeting systems aid the vessel in battle. Laser communications and targeting help the Scythe keep fighting in heavy electronic warfare situations. Multi frequencies light emitting lidar arrays help the Scythe target enemy vessels at long ranges with precise solution computing.

The main weapon system of the Tri-scythe-class are the Large batteries with four long range turbolasers and two long range ion cannons each line the port and starboard frame of the large prow structure.smaller turbolaser batteries line the vessels dorsal and ventral hull giving the vessel limited broadside weapon fire arcs. Three large warhead launchers are equipped on each port and starboard midships hull. these launchers can fire very large payload and special warhead equipped torpedoes.

The ORC, in need of hardy, well armored ships turned to the Mon Cal tough ships of the MCS / Directorate. With losses in the west from the Sharukans assaults larger capital ships were in short supply and the governments able to build them were hoarding many of their newer commissioned vessels to defend their own borders, orders from outside suppliers became a necessity.

To fill the roll of an escort to the ORC’s remaining super-carriers twelve Tri-Scyths were purchased and delivered to the ORC through Kal-Shebbal. Once in ORC possession they were modified to fit the needs of the Coalition. The weaker broadside weapons were stripped off and used to increase space to add to the hangers in the main ship body making the Tri-Scythes true carriers. Hardier power generators were added to increase ships already impressive toughness. Along with anti-boarding measures and increased defensive measures.

Finally to help with escort services a great river tractor system has been added to them to enable them to pull along damaged friendly ships, or push away hostile ships in order to defend their charges.
