Optimism

A ship was hurtling through hyperspace and was due to arrive at Monastery space within the hour. Kahne knew that there was much pressure and stress that was put on them both within the last several hours in particular due to two different events. With the sudden knowledge that Alexandra was pregnant which was more happy news than the other event that had happened due to the Jedi Masters past.

Kahne himself had much to do and also more to lose, now more than ever. He wasn't sure the depths that the Sith could go but he didn't put it past that she wouldn't try everything to get to him. She was strong in the force, much more than he could've anticipated. And he knew that there was only one way to get rid of her, and that he was going to have to destroy her if she continued to hunt him down like this.

These thoughts swirled through the Jedi Masters mind as he slept however now, his mind was occupied by one person and one person only....

Kahne leaned forward and placed several kisses along Alexandra's shoulder afterwards using the washcloth to move across her back washing her gently and affectionately. The warm was comfortably hot as steam rose up from it.

"Everything is going to be okay, you know that right?"

The warmth of the hot water running down over Alexnadra's body made the brandy-eyed brunette feel better after a bout of morning sickness had seen her praying to the porcelain god, though the loving and caring hands of Russo's fiancé scrubbing her back made the former starfighter pilot feel even better.

The Taanabian tiled her dark head to the side as the Jedi Master's lips left a trail of tender kisses upon her wet shoulder. This was the life, one Alex looked forward to from now on with [member="Kahne Porte"], or at least that was the hope for her, him, and their children they'd raise together. The two would somehow make it all work. The strong love they shared now extended to their offspring-to-be would have to bind them altogether as one.

"Yep, I do," Alex answered in an upbeat tone; the sound sleep doing wonders for the new mother-to-be's frazzled attitude of the hours past. It also helped that the pesky nausea of early pregnancy had abated; well at least for now.

Alexandra turned around in the ship's small shower to face the man of her dreams standing before her in the hot, steaminess with a soft, knowing smile. While the spray of the water washed away the soap off her back, she took the washcloth from the Naboo, lathered it up again, then began to caress it over his muscled chest and broad shoulders in a sensual pattern.

"A new day has risen and I am not dwelling upon the past any longer, but the present and future with you, and the family we are being blessed with. You have given me hope once again, my sweets, and for that I love you so much," she expressed sincerely, leaning into him and placing a tender kiss upon his lips.

Kahne smiled when she answered in such a way. He was very happy that the events hadn't cause to much issued with her during the past hours. Knowing everything that had happened, it was good that they spent as much time together as they were doing. She turned to face him and he showed her a rare smile as his eyes stared deeply into hers for a few precious moments and then his eyes glanced towards her hands as she began to rub across his chest and shoulders.

She leaned in as he did as well and they kissed briefly before they broke apart and Kahne glanced across him to the small suds of soap across his body. The back of Kahne's fingers rested just above her bosom and then began to trace down affectionately, going down just below her belly. Kahne smiled as he thought of his children, he wanted them to be safe and okay. Just as much as he wanted Alexandra to be safe and okay.

"You have me for an eternity, Alexandra Russo." Kahne said with a small smile before he leaned forward and kissed the tip of her nose just lightly.

Of course when the brandy-eyed brunette had leaned into [member="Kahne Porte"] soapy body to kiss him, she had come away with suds clinging to her front side. It had been a suggestive move and it garnered exactly the expected response as the Naboo traced his fingers sensually down her chest to the still flat abdomen that held and nurtured their two children safely within.

The thought of being a mother, not only a wife, still came as a shock, though Alexandra would not trade it for the world. She truly felt it was meant to be even if the timing seems a bit off, but the Force works in mysterious ways... or at least that is what a certain Master Jedi keeps telling her.

Kahne's smile always made the Taanabian feel loved, and she could tell that he was truly happy, well especially right now. Alexandra's hand covered his as the back of his fingers caressed the spot just below her belly button. Brown eyes gazed tenderly into his blue as he pulled away from the pilot's face after kissing the tip of her nose.

"Well, I believe in an afterlife where we see our loved ones in the heavens above so you will have me and my love for an eternity too, Kahne Porte," she smiled softly, then raised her tone arms and wrapped them around his neck; lips finding the Jedi Master's once again this time with more of a hungry passion behind them.

The two still had a bit of time to kill before the Legacy would be ready to come out of hyperspace at their interim destination. Why not enjoy the private time the newly engaged couple had before the bigger picture came into view to guide their next move.

The private time that the two had before landing was something very spectacular. While Kahne was in her presence he was always pleased and had more hope than ever before. His love for her had grown deeply over the time that they had known each other and that was only solidified when he asked her to marry him. The time spent was filled with a deep passion and love that the man displayed as they did their dance in the shower. Kahne gave her a deep measure of love and pleasure as the time passed.

**********

The ship had exited hyperspace and was soon to dock as the Jedi directed the ship into the hangar bay on Monastery. It was early in the morning by the time they arrived and there was a thick fog that hung over the area. Which wasn't unusual for the planet, as most morning tended to be like this. The Jedi was dressed well enough as he had his days to where the regular jedi attire wasn't doing it for him. He was at a point in his life to where he started to drift away from the normal Jedi robes and would choose something more tactical.

The ship gave a small shake just as the ship docked and the Jedi let out a small sigh as he just sat back in his seat for a moment. Kahne closed his eyes for a brief time however that was interrupted when his droid Gala came up right beside him and a series of whistles and beeps emitted from the little droid.

"I told you, I"m fine." The Jedi said as he glanced towards Gala with a small smile and he stood up and before the droid started again Kahne replied before she could even beep again. "Yes! I know your worried about me, but everything is going to be okay. I've got the situation under control. You should shut down for a while." Kahne said a little more forceful thane he had wanted too, as he started to walk away Gala emitted another series of beeps and whistles that Kahne stopped suddenly and let out another sigh before looking back to Gala, noting the tone and such in her beeps as she emitted what she did. The Jedi didn't respond he just took a deep breath and shrugged his shoulders. He wasn't going to respond back but what she had thrown out there did make the Jedi Master think somewhat, however he wasn't going to bring it up, not even too Alexandra.

The Jedi made his way back towards the room to see if his fiancee was ready yet.

A contented sigh left Alexandra's lips as she finished getting dressed before landing on Monastery at the Jedi temple built there by the Order of the Sacred Lotus. She could never get enough of [member="Kahne Porte"], but now everything they did together seemed just that more meaningful. The long-time couple was to become man and wife here soon, and on top of that they were to be parents as well. Their love for each was never stronger nor vividly alive for that matter, if the shower was any indication.

Despite the off and on ill-feeling the pregnancy was causing presently, Alexandra had also noticed her body seemed to be humming or abuzz like a bee hive. Was this normal for a woman to feel when carrying a baby, or in this case babies within her womb? If only her mother was still alive to answer Alex's many questions and concerns...

That wistful musing was cut short as the landing struts on the Legacy touched down with a soft thud in the docking bay of the temple. Alexandra moved over to the edge of the bed and grabbed one of her waiting leather boots. She slipped her socked foot into it, then reached for the other just as Kahne opened the door to their shared cabin on his ship. Brandy brown eyes surveyed her fiancé in his non-Jedi styled outfit. He sure made the clothes wear nicely. The Taanabian also picked up on the fact that something was bothering him or maybe the Master Jedi was just annoyed at his astromech droid. Gala could certainly get under one's skin at times.

Nevertheless, Alexandra flashed the Naboo a bright smile, then rose from the bed; slipping on her jacket to complete her own outfit as she walked over to greet him. "Nice landing, sweetheart," she smiled, then leaned in to place a kiss upon his oh so desirable lips.

"Though, I'm still a better pilot than you so don't get too comfy in the captain's chair just because I'm carrying your children," Alex quipped lightly with a wink, then quickly ushered them out of the cabin and towards the boarding ramp.

The former Rogue knew now her days of flying a starfighter were over while pregnant, but she could still pilot a transport, and that Alleycat intended to do for as long as she could sit behind the control yoke and still reach the levers and toggle the switches. Alex was just stubborn that way. It was hard to give up her independence or control for that matter.

Kahne leaned against the door as he watched Alexandra finish getting dressed and he just smiled as she looked up to him. The kiss was much needed as they crossed the plane and started down the landing ramp and touched down on solid ground. The Jedi chuckled lightly at he comment and it just made him shake his head and he winked at her.

"Perhaps so, however I'm the captain of this ship sweetheart." Kahne teased slightly as he looked ahead as he reached for her hand giving it a small squeeze.

"They should be expecting us soon." Kahne whispered to her as the thick fog still hung around in the air and probably wouldn't go away for at least another hour or so based on his experiences. There were a few healers planet side that Kahne had known not on a personal level however just through his occasional visits across the planet and they had opted to look into what was going on with Alexandra.

"How are you feeling?" Kahne inquired as he looked over to her.

The misty morning fog greeting Alex and [member="Kahne Porte"] was both beautiful and eerie, though the pilot had always felt at peace on Monastery while visiting previously. There was something about the rain-forested Mid Rim planet that called to her. Russo couldn't explain it, but it seemed like she belonged there.

"I'm okay," Alexandra answered with a small smile as the brunette walked hand-in-hand with her fiancé towards the Jedi temple called Sanctuary. "Well, maybe a little nervous. My whole body seems to be tingling with anticipation I guess of hearing the confirmation of parenthood for us .... Not that I'm dishing your keen Jedi sensing ability, Master Porte," she teased with a playful wink.

"I just need to see the proof with my own eyes so to speak. Who.knows, I could just have a bad stomach bug, right... though it wouldn't explain why I'm so late, would it?"

Okay, now she was rambling. It wasn't that Alex didn't want to be pregnant, quite the opposite actually. It was more the former Rogue Leader was scared with anxieties if she would be a good mother, having only limited experience with children especially babies. And with no maternal mentor to help guide her, the Taanabian felt alone in the deep end without knowing how to swim except dog paddling. Did Kahne have his own concerns about being a father? Lots to think about as they made their way inside.

The couple's journey through the temple didn't take long for them to arrive at the infirmary where they were welcomed by Master Mig Rema, the Jedi healer on duty, who suggested Kahne make himself comfortable in the waiting area while she took Alex back for her prenatal exam as this one would be more poking and prodding than enjoyable to attend. Oh yippie, not?!

"Why don't you catch up on galaxy news and I'll see you in a little bit," Alexandra smiled giving the tall, dark, and handsome Master Jedi's hand a reassuring squeeze before releasing it to follow the female humanoid doctor down a short hallway to a room at the end.

Master Rema took a complete history, then did a thorough physical exam of the Taanabian. She also drew some blood to be tested as well. When the results of those came back, the Jedi healer asked Kahne to join them.

"Congratulations to both of you," the yellow-skinned Jedi doctor with golden eyes offered with a respectful cant of her head. "Alexandra is indeed pregnant with two fetuses, fraternal twins, who are healthy and right where they need to be for ten weeks." A data pad was handed over so the new parents could see an ultrasound image loop of their children to be for the first time in utero.

Alex bite her lip and tears of joy filled her brandy brown orbs. She looked over to Kahne and smiled brightly, "Oh my gods, they are so precious," the brunette exclaimed softly as her throat tightened with emotion.

"Also from the symptoms you reported to me about feeling suddenly enlightened by every thing around you, Alexandra, I took the liberty and ran a special test, one not normally done on the mother but rather babies after they are born... You are Force Sensitive with a midichorian count that well meets the standard to be trained as a Jedi Knight, should that be something you want to do in the future. I take it you did not know from the look on your face?"

"No, I didn't. I'm not sure I was ever tested, or if so never told the results," Alex shook her head slowly wrapping her mind around this new reality " ...but, it would explain some things that happened over the years especially when I was flying. I got strong hunches which way an enemy fighter would turn or bad feelings about situations before they happened," she replied thinking to herself, like with my parents and brothers when they were killed. I just knew... then the brunette turned her dark head towards her husband to be with a quizzical brown gaze.

"Did you know, Kahne? Could you sense it... I mean, you were mucking around in my head when teaching me how to shield myself from dark siders trying to mind trick me in battle, and that other thing you did while we were... well you know," Alex asked curiously with a bit of a blush warming her cheeks.

"Well, perhaps I've been a bit sidetracked lately. I have been distracted by someone lately." Kahne winked at her as he gave her hand a small squeeze as they made their way towards the Jedi Temple. Kahne could sense the nervousness about her, and while he was indeed a tad bit nervous as well. She seemed to be more for both of them perhaps. The Jedi Master was always usually able to keep his calm and cool most of the time. His patience only went so far though, however he hadn't met anyone that had tampered with that yet. "Just relax, breath sweetheart." Kahne voiced showing her an encouraging smile.

They were greeted by Master Rema whom Kahne thanked for seeing Alexandra, he took her recommendation and he sat in the waiting room for a while until they test were done on Alexandra. Kahne knew what he felt, they were there and there presence was strong.

By the time Kahne got called back he met up with Alexandra and then they were showed the datapad and their children could be seen, and how small they were. A big smile came across the face of the Jedi Master, he didn't tear up, however you could tell that he was moved. The Jedi leaned in and kissed his wife, giving her a passionate kiss.

And then the next wave of news came, which Kahne was very intrigued with and yet was slightly concerned with. When he was helping her shield her mind against force attacks he didn't sense anything during that time, and now that this has come up, he wondered if the children had awakened something inside of her. Throughout all of his training and the knowledge he hadn't ever heard of the force being dormant in someone.

"That is very curious indeed. No, very strange that I did not." Kahne said with a small smile, however a small note of concern on his face.

Alex's brandy brown gaze went from the datapad screen to [member="Kahne Porte"]'s face as he looked upon the images of their unborn children for the first time. The Jedi Master's big smile definitely reached his blue eyes, and the joy... It was expressed in the passionate kiss they shared.

After the Jedi Healer had told them the surprising finding in her blood work, Alex had posed a question to her fiancé. The answer and the small note of concern that followed suddenly made her feel uneasy, though knew the Master Jedi beside her would help the newly 'diagnosed' Force user to understand what it all meant going forward as Kahne was an excellent teacher as previously observed with a padawan he'd had mentored.

"Well you've always said the Force works in mysterious ways... I take this as a good sign, hmm? It brought us together, and now we are to be a Jedi family too," the brunette smiled, giving Kahne's hand a reassuring squeeze before turning her attention back to Master Rema.

A bottle of pills and a holobook were collected, then held on her lap.

"So I will make sure to take the prenatal vitamins as instructed, try the tea for the nausea, and get regular exams as you advised... Oh and thank you for the book, 'What to expect when you are expecting twins'. I'm sure it will be a fun read and very helpful as time moves forward," Alexandra nodded appreciatively to the doctor though all the while thinking to herself amusingly, ...probably more terrifying than not as the time to parenthood grows closer!

Was Alex ready for this? Was Kahne? Could they do this? So much had happened so quickly, but as long as the two had hope, love and each other... They could get through anything together.
