Operation: Hydro (Invite)

skin, bone, and arrogance
The B-7 light freighter Cranberry Cocktail zipped into hyperspace and its pilot, Evelin Redstar, took a moment to relax in the seat. This was going to be a long night. She watched the hypnotic mottle of hyperspace for several long moments, going over the plan in her head. The risk was worth the reward, if they came away with even half the swag she knew was there. After a few minutes, she stood and strode from the bridge into the crew lounge, using the intercom to summon [member="Nyx"], [member="Nara Basaar"], [member="Ash Verd"], and [member="Zamza Ra'Kira"]. When the group was assembled, she sat at he video entertainment table and activated the holo.

"Sorry," she said with an apologetic smile. "I'm still trying to get a handle on the whole briefing people thing, so I hope you don't mind if I practice on you lot." Without further discussion, she activated the entertainment table. A large, slowly-rotating image of Herevan Hold appeared over the table.

"This is Herevan Hold, the ancestral home of the Fortan family, and if that name sounds familiar, it's because that's the name of the First Order's highest ranking government official after the Supreme Commander himself -- Natasi Fortan." She paused for a moment and studied the image. "The castle is built over a waterfall, with large intake tunnels underneath, feeding water into the hydroelectric plant, here." She indicated on the image where the central tunnel was. "There's access to the castle there, and we have the codes." She held up a slip of paper with the digits written.

It was best, for the moment, to gloss over how she knew the codes, or the following information: "We know Governor Fortan is in the capital, and the lord of the estate is serving active duty. We have reason to believe the staff -- servants, and all but a token security team -- are away from the estate at a festival. So, what are we going for?" Evelin lofted her eyebrows. "We're going to rob the joint. Not only does it present intelligence opportunities, but there's a lot there to steal and fence to fund Resistance efforts. Art, jewelry, silverware, clothes, et cetera."

"So," the Princess continued. "I'll drop you here." She indicated the small ledge under the central tunnel. "Land the freighter here," she indicated a large central courtyard on the schematics. "You'll make your way up to the entry doors here, in the main hall, and let me in, and we'll get a repulsorcart each, grab what we can, and get out before sunrise. Any questions?"

Nyx

Insert Hilarious Title Here
Unlike her boss, Nyx was not having any trouble relaxing. The teenager was fast asleep underneath a mountain of empty cans and various junk food containers. Her terminal was still bright as it displayed data from her multiple worms across the galaxy, feeding her information twenty four hours a day, even when she was loudly snoring like she was at that moment.
Then the intercom was screeching in her ear, and Nyx shot up with a panicked yelp, cans and containers tumbling to the ground as she fell out of the bed, hitting the floor with a dull thud. She rubbed at her bottom as she glared at the intercom, muttering to herself.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm coming, I'm coming." The teenager mumbled expletives under her breath as she searched for a semi-clean jacket to wear. She picked one up, holding it to her nose and sniffing. Hmm. It only slightly smelled like hormones and horrible greasy food. It would do.

Nyx pulled her hood down over her head as she left her quarters, squinting her eyes as she was exposed to the light of the hallway. Ugh. She cursed her circumstances as she stumbled down to the briefing room.

As she watched their esteemed leader [member="Evelin Redstar"] give a rather lackluster briefing, Nyx couldn't help but narrow her eyes. Codes like that were hard to get one's hands on. She knew, because she was usually the one getting them. Either the Resistance had another genius slicer hidden up their ass, or Evelin was hiding something. But the teenager stayed silent. She knew when to question her betters and when not to.
After the little conference, Nyx raised her hand.
"Yeah, I got one. What happens if we trip alarms, and we got an army comin' down on us?"
Nyx was many things, and a coward was number one on that list.

The faint sound of unzipping bags could be heard from the room Nara claimed as her workstation. The medic had some free time before the mission was going to commence so why not do some inventorying? Nara stared at the stock list on her data pad, her eyebrows dropped down into a frown. "I swear someone must think my painkillers are snacks" she uttered to herself annoyed by the ever constant disappearance of painkillers from her medical packs. With a deep sigh the medic sat down at her work station, eyes still fixated on her datapad she took a small sip of her tea. Nara's work was soon interrupted by a summon from [member="Evelin Redstar"] on the intercom "I will be there in a moment" Nara said as she rose and left the room.

Walking up the corridor Nara noticed a few empty cans lying on the floor and her eyes rolled in response, she was not a fan of mess. Nara entered the room and shot Evelin the welcoming smile she usually did. "The Hervan hold..." Nara mumbled to herself as she stood next to the Princess, Nara did not know much at all about it as Evelin had only briefly mentioned it before. Nara was oblivious to the truth, but she was not one to delve into things deeply so she said to Evelin "I can't even imagine what you had to do to get this information" A smile then beamed over her face and she jokingly said "However, you did promise me you will find me a pretty necklace so i will just go with it!"

Nara's joking mood was cut off by [member="Nyx"]'s question. Nara turned to Evelin and tilted her head "She does have a point there".

Ash, previous mercenary, found herself amongst the ranks of the resistance. The mandalore was no longer a safehaven for her, and it's order had been of question lately. She'd, instead, learn to fight for a new cause. What that was? She'd hope to learn as she went. Ash, cocked back in a chair in her own cell room, blew inside her helmet, toying with it and ensuring it was in tip top shape. It was dated, certainly, but it got the job done. It wasn't until the summoning call rang in her ear that she unexpectedly pushed her foot against the table, reeling further back in her chair until she fell on the ground with legs dangling and a heap of curses shot out.

"karkin-" She calmed herself, picking herself up along with the chair. With a smug look on her face, she entered the meeting room, more than likely the last to arrive. The woman didn't bother to sit, she merely stood there, hip leaning to the side with her arms crossed whilst the resistance leader, [member="Evelin Redstar"], spoke. Admittedly, all the woman heard was "Land here." -- "Steal this.." -- "Get out safely." She was never too fond of speeches, or whatever you'd consider this to be. As mentioned before, she was relatively new, simply nodding with her mouth shut whilst the others spoke.

<< "What the hell am I getting myself into?" >> She wondered.

Zamza had been in his own private room of the ship holding a one armed handstand as he practiced focusing the force into his body to hold it still. Beads of sweat began to bead on his forehead. He had been holding the position since he had been showed where he would be spending his time. The muscles in his core quivered from exhaustion, and even the muscles in his arm began to involuntarily flex urging Zamza to rest. Right before the arm gave out Zamza attempted a shift to his other arm, but the sudden activation of the intercom sent the man off balance and tumbling to the floor. With what could be considered a frown on his face Zamza rose to get dressed so he could be at least somewhat presentable to those gathered.

Zamza had volunteered for the operation just in case [member="Evelin Redstar"] needed more muscle on her side. If things went sideways they'd need someone to buy them some time. So as he finally strode into the crew lounge Zamza realized he had been the last to show up. Probably wasn't to good of a look on his part since he had come from a military upbringing. At least he had been raised by the military his entire life. Though over time as he had grown accustom to the known parts of the galaxy Zamza had also become much more lax and free.

Examining the hologram closely Zamza looked up at those that had been gathered for the mission. "If an army does happen to drop in on us I'll hold them long enough to buy you all time to get off the planet." Zamza said. Not really focused on being brave or seeming like some grand hero, he was just one that had spent much time in hiding. With his special forces training he'd easily be able to go to ground and make his escape later. So raising his hand before any could object Zamza spoke again. "I will not fight off a whole army, just cause a large enough distraction to buy you time to escape. Easier for one person to go into hiding than five... Though I am curious are there going to be any ships stored here? If so maybe we steal those as well. Of course they wouldn't fit into this ship. Instead we hide them and at a later date come back to pick them up. Though if there are ships we could pilot them out of here, or in a worst case scenario slave rig them all together."

skin, bone, and arrogance
Evelin nodded at Nyx, her eyes flickering to her orange-colored fingertips briefly before inclining her head. "We have no reason to think the Fortan clan has an army to deploy against us, but on the off chance that we have an army thrown at us, well, that's why we have weapons. And, of course, Ra'Kira," Evelin said, nodding appreciatively at [member="Zamza Ra'Kira"]. "We expect limited security forces on premises, since the house is unoccupied. Set blasters for stun in case any staff are still in the house, but if there are First Order army or Fortan armed forces, by all means, open up."

She looked over at [member="Zamza Ra'Kira"]. "We want to avoid bloodshed if possible, but this is a legitimate target, so if we have to -- what's the phrase? -- bust some heads? -- then we will." The Princess looked discomfited for a moment before shaking her head as if to clear away any doubts. She indicated the console. "Once you've let me in and we have a repulsorsled, Verd, if you would please escort [member="Nyx"] to the study to crack the vault there, Nara and I will proceed to the second floor to clear out the valuables up there. Ra'Kira, if you would be so kind as to keep an eye on the entrance and give us a heads up if anything goes amiss."

Nyx

Nyx nodded to herself in satisfaction at their esteemed leader's response. It was certainly easier to work a place over if the mark wasn't home, especially when it was the home of a rather powerful nobleman. The teenager was still convinced [member="Evelin Redstar"] was hiding something, but nothing but a disapproving glance and the crossing of her arms indicated such. She may not be a big fan of anyone higher up than her in the command chain, but right now the Resistance was her best ticket at inconveniencing the First Order. And there was nothing she wanted more in life at that moment than to inconvenience the First Order.
So she nodded along, pulling her hood lower over her face to conceal her doubting eyes. The slicer glanced at her fellow rebels, her face neutral. She honestly couldn't care less whether these people lived or died, but if she wanted to avoid getting shot, she needed them. After all, there was no way she was ever touching a blaster. Doing so would hamper her ability to hide and run from the enemy.
"I can take on that security, no problem. Just gotta have time and a direct link to the network. Get me that, and I can get you your vault."
Nyx was already pawing at the glowing collar on her neck, her tools inside. Her mind began racing with the thoughts of what this security could be like, and how to bypass it.
