  • Layered - "Onions have layers." The Onion Shield boasts a whopping nine layers of shielding, making it a formidable defensive emplacement against any enemy artillery or weaponry. Once the first layer is gone, the generator will try to reestablish the outermost shield layer. If this is not power, it will put in more effort to keeping the current active layers alive by using up the power that would've been used for the outermost layer, and distributing it to the remaining active layers.

  • Absorbs both Energy and Kinetic Damage

  • Range - The Superfortress can approximately cover a maximum land area of 508.6 mi2, this allows the SF to cover most large cities with relative ease along with any standard ground fortress

  • Nigh Impenetrable - The Onion Shield is nearly impenetrable. The Superfortress shield should, in most accounts, be able to disable most forms of electrical equipment, including vehicles and aircraft, that enter into it. At least, that is the theory that should, hopefully, work for most forms of electrical equipment. Their are, of course, some vehicles that can get through, whether it be through luck or, more likely, advanced ioo-resistant technology to allows vehicles to pass through it. After all, that is what the Galactic Empire does to allows vehicles and electrical equiptment to go in and out of the Onion Shield when it is turned on.

  • Size - If you were trying to hide a Superfortress Shield Generator in a haystack, you would need a lot of hay. The Superfortress generator is a rough equivalent, in size, to a standard transport shuttle from the imperial era. Which makes it relatively easy to find given its large size.

  • Power Usage - The Superfortress generator is, by all means, a power leech. Vast amounts of power are required to both power the startup of the Onion Shield and keep the Shield up. Along with this, the longer the shield is up and the further extended outwards the shield is, the more copious amounts of power it will subsequently consume. If one desires to have an Onion Shield, the area that it is contained in must have the proper amount of power generators to keep the Onion Shield online and fully operational.

  • Not Everything Lasts Forever - The Onion Shield although powerful, will not be able to remain online in instances of a prolonged ground-based or aerial-based siege. With enough given time or just purely through user error of some sort, the lithium-based batteries used in the Onion Shield Generator can overheat. Once this happens, the shield generator could entirely overheat and malfunction, causing it to permantely shutdown, or it will temporarily shutdown when the temperature gets too high as an automatic cooling system will then begin, lasting thirty seconds before the shield generator can be used once more.

  • Kinetics - The Onion, although having an anti-concussion field installed to boost the stability and amount of punishment the shield could take before falling, is still quite vulnerable to kinetic fire from heavy artillery. Enough firepower concentrated in one singular area, even with both the molecular shielding and anti-concussion field technology installed, can rip a hole in the shield. This isn't to say the shield will go down. If one singular part of the shield takes enough punishment, a hole will be ripped in the shield, allowing any enemy combatants or vehicles to get inside. Though to do this, is difficult as one would have to get through nine layers of shielding.

  • The Onion Shield, as it was amply named after the popular holo-movie, "Onions have Layers," is a massive ground-based deflector shield that covers a wide area and can take a mountain of punishment due to the sheer amount of shield layers it has. The Onion excels at helping to defend large cities and military emplacements from enemy harm, disabling any enemy armor that runs off of electrical input to run and function properly due to it's EMP field functionality.

  • The engineers designed the shield with multiple layers, to try and stop any enemies from breaking into the shield. Although, their were a few problems with this. The biggest one, being that solid objects could get inside, specifically enemy armor and airships. To counteract this, the engineers began to delve into new territory with some military scientists who had wanted to test out a new theory of EMP fields. The engineers worked this into the shield, along with numerous other field-based technologies to try and make the shield as impenetrable as they could.

Explain the defensive capability of a single shield in the layer. Are they all about the same or are different shields more/less powerful?

The Onion disables any and all enemy electrical equipment that tries to get inside of it, this includes stopping enemy tanks, droids, and even disabling enemy fighters mid-flight, making them fall towards the ground with the pilot in tow.

As a reminder, subs should not be dictating hits to an opponent. As an alternative, you can suggest ideas of what may happen or what it's designed to do.
