::Keep it quiet, keep it calm.:: Ali reiterated as she slid a fresh magazine into the well of her rifle. It clicked quietly into place as she pressed the locking mechanism forward with her thumb. They were on secured comms, but Ali found herself whispering; they'd just completed a long, arduous slog through a series of engagements deep within the heart of the city and were finally free of the fighting. Ali had been attempting to make contact with local Togorian leadership in the city; CSAF had arranged for an audience with the Margrave to discuss industrial advancements that would allow the Togorians to take advantage of their planet's mineral resources and engage in Galactic markets. The Margrave wanted to draw many of his people out of their lives in the wild, as well as secure the resources and knowledge necessary for treating a variety of pathophysiologies the Togorians had yet to cure.
The entire meet had been scrapped, however, once the Republic had sent word to CSAF that an invasion was looming on the horizon. Ali's mission on Togoria had turned from one of peace to one of war as they'd scrambled to assist with the preparation of the planet's defense. Ali's various Battalions were engaged through the capital in a series of conflicts.
Her current objective was to link up with a Republic scouting unit some miles away; Caross lacked the infrastructure necessary for long range communications, and the region's assigned orbital rely must have been destroyed, as global comms were not functioning either. That meant that unless they located a planetary relay, they'd be unable to call for reinforcements or air support in the event of a Sith attack.

::By last count, we were still roughly ten klicks out from the front lines.:: Ali explained, projecting a map of the city from her wristcomp. The city, despite its relative primitivity, was vast, stretching for miles on end. The dense urban terrain crafted a veritable maze, though Ali and her squad had managed to stay on top of things by jacking into local transmitters. ::There's a river running to our North, it runs East-West and then curves South. We'll hug the river through the market here, then continue South until we reach the Republic forces on the Front.:: Her four Commandos nodded silently, hefting their weapons and checking over each other's gear. The only resistance they'd faced thus far had been One Sith footpatrols, similarly disadvantaged by the lack of modern communication technology. It was a disadvantage Ali and her Commandos had not taken for granted, silencing most patrols before they were able to determine where the shots came from. ::Stick together, if we take fire, bail into one of these buildings.::
Within moments they were moving, crossing the road from beneath the concrete overpass in a diamond formation. The buildings around them were no more than four-levels tall, roughly 15 meters at the most. The structures themselves were bereft of life; the Togorians had enough time to evacuate the females and offspring that lived exclusively within the capital of Caross. The narrow roads were littered with wood-framed merchant stands, boxes of food and crates of product, and small vehicles like utility speeders. Dust drifted through the air, clinging to their armor in minor swirls. Banners and cloth coverings were draped all over to give traders the shade they needed to last the day, turning the walls of the buildings into a wave of shifting colors. Lines of clothes hung between the buildings over the road below, crossing back and forth and drifting in the breeze. The rooftops were similarly cluttered with water tanks and fuel storage units. Many of the ground levels were taken up by small workshops and storage units, filled with vehicles and primitive industrial equipment.

Ali kept her rifle at the ready as the team collapsed against the nearest wall and Geft took a knee to peek around the corner with his rifle, which relayed the optic's feed to his HUD, saving him from having to stick his neck out. The honeycombs placed over their optics would prevent the day's glare from giving them away. Geft drew his weapon back around the corner. ::Looks clear, though I can't be sure. All the shades and banners make it damn near impossible to get a clear look through any of the windows.::
Ali shook her head. ::We'll just have to be careful then, huh? Keep an eye on your scanners, even in all this we should still get a good 40 meter heads up on any enemy patrols.::

The Post

The Margrave’s Royal Pride rode through the plains outside of Caross.
War had come to the Star Cloud above and it was his right to respond to any invader who would set foot on Togoria.
Normally most male Togorians traversed the world in their traditional nomadic lifestyle which befit the region. However the Margrave was different, special, the monarch and chief of the prides.
His wife had acquired the metal war beasts which his pride of kin now rode upon.
The Margrave roared from atop the battle tank as its engines belched in return.
The Togorian chief-king raised his scimitar and stabbed toward the city.
If an outsider had come to Togoria with hostile intent then he would show them the strength of his legs and claws before ripping their throats out with fangs and muscle.
The young paws who rode with the Margrave mewled a response, nothing more than young males who had yet to wet their paws with the life of an enemy.
Today though was their chance to become his Blood Claws and join their more experienced brethren.
Margrave looked back and gazed upon the host, the formation, the pack, his Pride!
Many tanks and APCs followed along with some artillery pieces and other assorted vehicles.
Some could hover, others were wheels and tracked.
The Margrave’s Royal Pride though used a variety and only the best.
Atop every vehicle the nomadic life of the male Togorians could be observed. All their equipment, regalia, and storage containers of various sizes were strapped down.
Along those assortment of goodies, many of the pride rode atop or held onto the sides of the vehicles.
Yellow eyes darted at each of the brave warriors clad in an assortment of different weapons from traditional scimitars to high end weaponry from the republic’s arms suppliers.
Margrave himself was adorned with the space Republic’s best armor underneath his traditional leather regalia.
Pupils sharpened as he focused on an oddity.

A shell back accompanied the Margrave’s Royal Pride, an outsider who was here to show his kin how to use the different weapons and vehicles.
A human male whose appearance was that of the Imperial storm troopers of a dozen score moons ago.
He called himself Ral of the Sanaka pride and he had been left to wander the plains with the Margrave by one of the space Republic’s Senators named Caius of the Flavian Pride.
Ral called himself a Colonel, which to Margrave mean’t he was a lesser chief.
He had been striving to teach how to utilize the republic’s communication equipment while also maintaining the traditional ways of the Togoria.
The skull face of the white shell back stared back at the Margrave, the human raised his blaster in the sky, the Pride’s symbols painted onto the white armor of the human shell back.
The Togorian king roared approval before looking to the southeast at the distant capital of Caross.

They thought the One Sith broken. Shattered under the weight of the petty quarrels of the Sith. They believed the mighty beast was de-fanged. They were wrong. United under adversary, the One Sith had been reborn. A council, comprised of the most powerful members of the One Sith, had risen to power. This group of Sith were united under one vision: A powerful One Sith empire, that would crush all who opposed it. To that end, the Sith returned to scarred planet of Togoria, to the scene of a genocide, with one goal in mind: To cleave the Republic in two.

As the battle for the capitol raged on, One Sith scanners detected a Togorian army attempting to reinforce the besieged Republic forces. A small force led by the Military Executor, Isamu Baelor, broke off from the bulk of the army, and moved to intercept the Togorian reinforcements. The mighty AT-AW’s rode out in front, while the sluggish artillery walkers lagged in the rear. The remainder of Isamu’s forces supported the behemoth AT-AW’s.

The potent Artillery Walker’s drew first blood. The Tannhauser, and Lohengrinn, took advantage of their incredible range, and fired on the enemy Siege Tanks. Swathes of explosive shells rained down on the Republic vehicles. The Hellfire Lohengrinn’s rained fiery death on the troopers, as their thermobaric shells brought brim fire and hell to the troopers.

Summary of Actions:
  • One Sith force, led by Isamu Baelor, broke off to intercept the Togorian reinforcements.
  • Tannhauser, and Lohengrinn, artillery walkers fired on enemy siege cannons.
  • Hellfire Lohengrinn’s fired on groups of soldiers.
Forces:
3x Squadron of AT-AW’s

[*]1x Squadron of Lohengrins

[*]1x Squadron of Hellfire Lohengrins
[*]170 x OS Troopers with weapons ranging from

Colonel Ral Sanaka stood atop one of the Myrimdions. Loosely hanging onto a large bundle of tens and other various equipment that sat upon the nomad warrior’s vehicle. Caius had left him here as a military attache and liaison with familiarizing the Togorians elite with the republic’s weaponry recently imported on to this world thanks to the Military expansion act.

After briefly making eye connection with the king or Margrave there was a distant series of booms which Ral recognized instinctively to be the sound of artillery fire.
He hollered through the comms to disperse the formation.
The Royal Pride of warriors had developed a solid sense of cohesion in communication.
Driving these vehicles though they still had a lot to learn but evasion was something that came naturally to the Togorians.
We continued to roll forward as the enemy fire blew craters in and around the formation of vehicles.
An artillery round landed right in front of a Z-50T forcing the driver to lose control from the blast wave and slamming over into a BAAWS.
The two vehicles collided but recovered after a brief moment of spinning out. The BAAWS continued but the Z-50T’s crew was stunned. The Togorian warriors who were riding atop the Z-50T were dying or dead from
Ral shouted a set of orders to them to run diagnostic and move forward and return to the pack.
He then gave another holler to the Balder’s to return fire. By now they were receiving the the targeting information being fed from his helmet. He ordred them to fire in in a volley with a tight enough spread to arleast pound the enemy position.
Moving and firing was still something the Royal Pride were getting ahold of but they were still able to load and make ready and launch their volley of 150mm

The Margrave spoke directly to Ral asking him to stay in charge of his warriors and to lead the fight against the intruders.
Ral was bemused that the Togorian would ask thi but the tone seemed dire.
Untying a 74-Z from the roof of the lead Myridion the Margrave leapt off the APC and kicked on the repusolerlift system and hurtled off in a bee line for the city of Caross.

A few more rounds of artillery fire erupted behind the formation as the Royal Pride picked up the pace.
The Balders were ordere to return fire.
The Baldrs were simple machines and required manual training on ascertaining the targeting solution, but once determined it would be a cinch to fire while on the move. That was atleast the idea behind the design.
Ral gazed through a pair of magnoculars and estimated that the enemy were firing from around 18 to 21 kilometers away. That was a fairly decent distance but the Republic’s vehicles would be right on them in then next fifteen to twenty minutes. Hell the APC’s alone would easily make it there in no time but Ral wanted to keep the formation together, very loosely but together.
The LC-HATs were well in front with the Z-50Ts (minus one) rolling right behind them.
Three of Myrimidions were all over one up front with the medium tanks and another rolling in the center with the BAAWS. Another held on to the right flank while the Baldrs held the fourth layer.
The BAAWS (minus one) kept near the center of the roving square while the massive Z-10Ts trundled behind the whole formation with one squadron of Myrimidions bringing up the rear.

Royal Pride of Margrave

(Consider this formation of C quality banking on some cat like reflexes and shenagins)

Summary of Actions
  • Pace now at full combat speed
  • Margrave left formation to go confront [member="Soeht"] here
  • A Z-50T has been stunned and a BAAWS is also temporarily immobilized.
  • Formation in a wide pattern to maximize evasive space
  • Balders are firing a concentrated volley of fire at where the enemy had fired from

The Margrave’s Betrayal

[member="Ral Sanaka"], just noticed how much I derped up. I thought I had made a post tying your story with mine and even remember formatting it, but I guess I messed up and just never pressed the reply button. I’ve rewritten as much as I remember from it for you.

The Proposal - from Ral Sanaka’s side
Alongside Colonel [member="Ral Sanaka"]’s Myrimidion, the Togorian Kra’eka rode atop a mosgoth. The memory of Margrave Ortromo leaving the Pride was still fresh on his mind.

Back when the Royal Pride was looking at Caross from the northeast, the Margrave received a holomessage. He broke off from the group to listen to Soeht’s proposal - which [member="Ral Sanaka"] could have easily overheard.

Once the call was over, the Margrave returned to the group. His heart was torn as his second, Kra’eka, approached him and asked, “What troubles you, my lord?

After a few seconds delay, the Margrave told Kra’eka, “Fetch me my mosgoth. I… they took Mrrova.

Reluctantly, Kra’eka got the Margrave’s massive, crimson mosgoth. Attached to the mosgoth’s harness was a bulky, huge vibrosword.

In the presence of [member="Ral Sanaka"], the Margrave said, “My brother, you must lead the Pride in my absence. I shouldn’t be too long…
Your Honor Demands This

I hope Ortromo returns soon,” muttered Kra’eka.

Togorians were beginning to die in the battle between the forces of [member="Ral Sanaka"] and [member="Isamu Baelor"]. The Margrave’s leadership was definitely a necessity here.

Unfortunately, Kra’eka’s wish came true.

Behind the Republic’s forces, the Margrave appeared on his mosgoth. The blood that covered him from the duel was gone. Instead of his left hand, some three-fingered mass of flesh replaced it. His eyes were a corrupted red - tainted by the dark side of the Force.

Hovering in the air, the Margrave was a prime target for Imperial snipers.

Yet just as the Margrave made his reappearance, a holo-message from Soeht was sent to [member="Isamu Baelor"].

The Margrave is acting as my agent. Don’t shoot him down,” the blue hologram told Isamu.

With a powerful, booming voice, the Margrave told his subjects, “Brothers, fellow Togorians! Don’t believe the Republic’s lies!

After saying that, the Margrave swooped down to the ground on his mosgoth and landed near his Pride. Confusion already began to seep into his people’s heads.

They care only about fighting!” continued the Margrave, “Fighting with machines that will burn our world! None of them care about saving the Togorian people.

What?” muttered Kra’eka in disbelief.

My honor… your honor demands that we evict all that threaten our lives!” continued the Margrave.

Stand with me, brothers,” ordered the Margrave as he pointed at [member="Ral Sanaka"], “And we’ll rid ourselves of the Republic menace!

While the Margrave’s sudden turn would surely confuse many Togorians, the Togorians as a whole are still very honor driven. Their noble leader demanded them to resist the Republic. Many would surely follow him on word along.

Isamu Baelor

Protector of The Iron Realm
Main Force:

The AT-AW’s marched at the vanguard of the army; an iron fist to punch through the enemy ranks. The remainder of Isamu Baelor's forces grouped, in loose formations, around the leviathian walkers. Though the enemy artillery had their hands full with the Tannhauser,s, and Lohengrin's, their crosshairs could soon settle on the rest of the one Sith military force. The loose formation would protect them from the shells, as they advanced on the Republic force.

Artillery:

The enemies artillery replied in kind. Shells dropped from the sky, colliding with the ground around the One Sith artillery. Two Lohengrin artillery walkers were hit with glancing blows; their shielding deflecting much of the damage. As the enemy shells fell, the artillery walkers disengaged from firing mode. and moved forward with the army. With the enemy zoned in on their previous firing location, the artillery walkers changed strategy. They would fire on the enemy, before rooting themselves from the ground, and relocating.

The mighty guns of the Tannhausers rocked the battlefield. Their six barrels unloading a seemingly never-ending onslaught of explosive shells, on the enemies artillery. Their smaller cousins, the Lohengrin's, continued to pound the siege tanks. The Hellfire Lohengrin’s lagged far behind the main group. The hulking machines weren’t ones for close-combat. They were designed to fight at the most extreme of ranges. They remained in firing mode; their large mechanical claws dug deep into the scarred ground. They continued to fire their thermobaric shells onto the enemy infantry.

Summary:
Bulk of OS forces continue to push on the enemy.
Tannhauser, and Lohengrin, units advance while firing.
Slight shield damage to two (2) Lohengrin's
Hellfire Lohengrin's continue to fire on enemy infantry.

Location: 4 kilometers from Opposing Forces; 7 Kilometers from Caross City; Travelling South by South East; Approaching From North West Expanse

Ral had assumed command.
The last few weeks had earned him the rights to be considered an honorary kin to the Margrave.
He watched as the speeder bike swirled away into the distance before returning to the matter at hand.

The enemy had replied in kind with the artillery and so had the Pride.
Sith artillery shells continued to barrage the formation but it continued to widen and widen. The enemy seemed to be particularly focused on trying to hit the Myrmidion APC’s likely because of the fact they carried the infantry, however the sheer speed and agility of the Myrmidions mixed with the evasive instincts of the Togorian warriors made for a spectacular show of maneuver tactics.

A shell landed roughly seven meters away and the sheer fore and impact although absorbed by the armor Ral wore still gave the man enough pause to decide to get inside the Myrmidion he rode upon.

Keep the formation loose and spread wide, we might have some communication issues with all this enemy fire power coming down on us” He pushed out across to the pack leaders.

The Republic Navy, or at least the Togorian Defense Fleet, held orbital superiority at the moment. Utilizing that advantage of being able to view the tactical data of enemy movements was handy in getting accurate firing solutions and a handle on the where the enemy was moving too.

The Infantry platoons fanned out to the left and right flanks of the formation.
Ral redirected all artillery fire at the enemy walkers.
The LC-HAT squadrons took up the center front line being able to keep a stronger pace then then their Z-10T brothers. While the remaining three Z-50Ts moved up to take the lead of the formation as the tip of the spear. The BAAWS held back just behind them by approximately 30 meters.
As the formation approached the enemy’s frontline walkers were huge hostile targets.
In a moment they would be clashing.

The Z-10Ts continued to trundle at top speed. In the rear of the formation now due to their slow speed.

One of the APC’s took a direct hit from and was engulfed in flame. Its passengers immolated in a matter of seconds from the explosive effect.

Ral’s battle plan was simple, it was something he had been practicing with the pride for weeks based on their own hunting techniques of catching big game in open plain.

The problem was keeping everyone coordinated. As the adrenaline was certainly pumping and these warriors although well seasoned still were going to make mistakes.

Hell they’ve barely managed to maneuver into this current formation as it is’ He thought to himself a little irritated.

The stunned Z-50T managed to recover from their shell shock, and began to trundle forward at cruising speed (45kph)

Summary of Action
  • Formation is now spread out in a shallow V while moving at the speed of the LC-HAT
  • Myrimidion squadrons divided with 2 on each flank
  • Main Battle Tanks and Siege Tanks engaging the walkers although will be ineffective because they are still out of range
  • Artillery is now directed at the walkers.

Royal Pride of Margrave
2 Squadrons of LC-HAT
1 Squadron of Z-10T MBTs
1 Squadron of Z-50Ts (3 of 4 are still in unit cohesion, 1 is moving at cruising speed far behind the formation)
4 Squadrons of Myrimidion APC (1 APC so far destroyed)
1 Squadron (3) of BAAWS (1 of the BAAWS still immobilized)
1 Squadron of Baldr’s
155 Togorian Warriors
