OOC/ It's been proposed that most of the faction's business be handled IC when possible, including things like sketchy recruits/defections, leadership and organizational decisions, and diplomatic decisions. To that end, we thought it best to talk about how to do that -- and, metafictionally enough, we intend to discuss it IC.

The Corellian Underground

Karen transmitted via Holocomm,

"...I remember walking Tython's long hills with Ben. Hm. I remember rebuilding Coruscant after the first Sith discovered how to find the Senate Building. Hehe. I still remember when the first Grandmaster of our new era died. Poor little guy. Force keep him. ...Oh gosh. I'm showing my age now aren't I?"

The firm blue woman blushed and brushed her hair aside. Now only speckled with the colors that once marked an aspiring Padawan. Maybe she'd be a signature silver at this rate. Oh my.

"What I mean is? Being a rogue doesn't mean not believing in unity. It means I simply wasn't able to find it amongst the Orders of my day. Sects of religion on every hand. And which one was right? Or were they all wrong together? ...I still don't know. Though I have prayed in earnest that this day would finally come. A day when all the Jedi of the galaxy might have a hope of working together."

She didn't cry. She didn't know if she had any tears left to give.

"I know my methods and history aren't traditional. Grant and I being what we are. But it would mean the world to me to join this new Pheonix Era. This Jedi Academy from which I have heard so much good. And to finally say that this old broad has become a part of something that could finally bring bring the light and the peace of the Force to the whole galaxy. United."

Ol' Blue took a step back and thought of HK-36. Hoping that his familiar voice would be among the Force Masters that had come via Holocomm to greet her. To question her or to shun her. Through the comm she imagined Ben Watts, Teferi Effret, Darron Wraith, and all the other wonderful Jedi Masters of which she had lived and walked alongside. She was the least of these, she knew. But I'll be damned if Karen didn't give it her best shot.

"Masters of the Force. I am Karen Roberts of Corellia. And I bid thee a warm hello."

"'Or were they all wrong together,'" Shule repeated absently, nodding. "I for one know you weren't alone in wondering that. Those weren't good days. Amazing how so many sects, so close together, can get so divided over the few things that keep them apart. Master Roberts, I don't believe we ever worked together, but I've always been told you were reliable. I'm immensely pleased to hear from another of what might be called the 'lost generation' -- the Jedi of your generation who didn't find a place within conventional orders or take sides in the schisms. For those of us who're involved in the Academy network, it means the message is finally starting to get out there clearly. I think it's hard to control how we're perceived; the best we can do is do, and hope we're seen accurately. Welcome to the Academies, Master Roberts. I know quite a few would love to have you as a visiting or resident instructor, and Dantooine will keep a bed open for you if you come out this way. And there are more than a few academies still in the works, proposals and projects coming in from all directions. These are dark times, but we think we've found the way to plant seeds for better days."

Planting seeds she could do. From humble beginnings, great things rise. But could she learn to be humble again? Well. She doubted it.

"Thank you for you kind words Force Master Windspeaker. I shall endeavor to see your fine world for myself one day. Gods willing."

Courteous without being enthusiastic. She didn't like being called the Lost Generation. It reminded her too much of what they had really lost. To war, famine, and the darker imaginations of the heart. Things she brooded upon far too easily. So swift to tear apart.

"I have travel plans and hope to become an activity member amongst this new Academy organization soon. Corellia is home, no matter which Lord governs her skies. And I must take caution. History sways me and I must bend. I am too old and too tired to escape politics so easily."

Some sins never die.

"I look forward to these proposals and their eventual fruition with great interest. Indeed. Mightily so. May the Force guide us well."

She took a step back to consider. There was truly much to do.

"Corellia will need its defenders. I don't know your connections with the Protectorate, but some of us have gotten the Lord Protector's permission to found an Academy on Naboo, not far away. If you're one of the people that've found Naboo a worthwhile refuge, you'd find allies and welcome there for sure.

"As for politics, as a group the Housemasters don't generally take political stances. I think we've both seen enough folly in the name of great ideals to know that not everything that claims to be good is, but all too often those are the arenas we need to work in. If you need support or just a quiet place to think, let us know. Do you and Master [member="Avalore Eden"] know each other? Her enclave on Cato Neimoidia isn't far from your homeworld -- quite ha few have considered it a safe place to rest."

Karen listened well and nodded,

"Master Eden and I are not acquainted. Though your words of Naboo and this, Neimoidia, impress me. They shall be amongst the first of my interests I pursue. Thank you."

She raised her chin to the thought of resting now. She had slumbered long enough. Her own problems be damned. The work of the Jedi was a passion to the blood. A fuel she would not shun so easily.

"I look forward to working with the Jedi of this galaxy again, very soon. Thank you for your assistance Master Windspeaker. It will not be forgotten."

She rubbed her teeth together and smiled at her own holographic reflection. She was feeling younger already.
