I did it. It took me far longer than I care to admit, but I did it. The first few errors with the unexpected string reading systems had me thinking I had gone and messed up the integer values on the boolean summarizer but it turns out I was wrong. I’ve recycled many parts of Henry’s most basic AI functions in an effort to trim down some of the work I have to put into this but it seems that there is a greater difference between a droid specialized in sabotage and one that is meant to only store as much data as possible.
I’ve been able to lower the space that each article uses by twenty-five percent by using an untested compression method I found on the HoloNet and if my calculations are correct this means that Alex should by all means be able to contain around at least five-hundred-thousand articles on all manner of things. Cultural logs, cooking recipes, speeder blueprints and a whole lot more. I know who could have a use for this, anyone who knows my family know who I am referring to.
Let me just ponder this for a bit. Micah is already smug enough, do I really want to allow him the means of growing even more smug?
Unless...
Yes, I could do that. Provided I can find the correct voice modulating platform I think I might just have gotten an idea for this hovering little piece of knowledge. Micah is going to love this.
< “Powering up.” > The metallic voice of Kaili’s latest creation chimed. < “All systems operating at optimal capacity.” >
The whistle from the propulsion jets sounded off into the dark room as the droid ran a quick three-sixty spin to inspect the room. Perhaps probing for known artifacts, perhaps to see if the gyroscope was still kicking it. Perhaps even both. The unfinished droid lowered itself to level at the same height as Kaili’s eyes. Was it trying to reach eye contact?
< “Scanning.” > The photoreceptors of the droid fluctuated for a bit before it spoke up again.
Kaili’s datapad woke up. She followed along the lines of text as the unit spoke of the item, -- or well, creator -- that it had scanned.

“Uh, right.” Kaili responded and promptly patted her hair into a more respectable fixture. “Well that was the easy part. Just remember that ‘Faction: Brat Pack’ does not officially exist. Now, scan something else.”
< “Understood.” > The droid turned it’s flashlight and began probing around in Kaili’s room for items to examine. < “Scanning.” >

“If only. It was a gift from an acquaintance.” Kaili sighed. “Alright, you can scan things. What about accessing your database? Tell me more about Onderon.”

“Eh, good enough.” Kaili shrugged and turned her pad off. “Now, to try the rest of your vital functions. Tell me a joke.”
< “Religion.” > The robot responded faster than Kaili could react.
A short moment of silence passed before Kaili chuckled. “Okay, yeah. I get it.”
< “Religion is the basis for millennia of war. Why is that?” > A small hint of curiosity seemed to shift ever so slightly into the small droid’s modulator.
“Oh you are perfect.” Kaili grabbed the nearby hydrospanner and walked over to the droid. “You should keep asking those questions.”
< “Understood.” >
“Not to me though. Always to Micah. As often as you can.”
< “Who is this Micah I keep hearing reference of?” >
“My brother, you will get to know him soon enough.”
< “Is he too a creator of droids?” >
“Dear god, no.” Kaili snorted as she laughed out loud. “He’s more of a history and religion type-of nerd.”
< “I see.” >
“Now hold still, I need to fix this broken modulator...” Kaili muttered. The hydrospanner clicked and with a twitch the droid started to emit static. A quick thump at the side of the chassis and it was all back to normal. “How are you feeling?”
< “Mmmm... Now this is a feeling I could used to, sweetie.” > The far more ‘sensual’ voice caught Kaili off-guard. Was she hallucinating? Did the droid suddenly sound a lot more like something out of a corny (yet equally sensual) massage videos found on the HoloNet? < “Even got myself a new voice, did we? Mmm, yes. This I like.” >
“So, uh, yeah... That was unexpected.” Kaili blinked before clearing her throat. “Tell me about yourself. Who are you?”
< “I am Alexandria. Alex for short. I come packaged with the means to learn all there is to know about history, religion and you. Kaili Talith.” > The droid got closer to Kaili and did another spin around her head. < “But enough about that, tell me more about yourself, girl. Who are you?” >
“You already know, Alex.” Kaili straightened her shirt and spun around to look at the droid. “Focus on Micah, you will get to know him a lot better than you know me.” Kaili put down the hydrospanner. “But until then, would you please power down? I still have some minor check-ups to do before we can begin with that.”
< “How can I say no to someone like you?” > The droid responded. < “No really, how do I-” >
It never finished, Kaili would shut the droid down before it did. A few minor details -- such as the glitch in the hover stabilizers -- and then Kaili's brother too would have a robot of his own. Oh how the young girl looked forward to seeing the thing terrorize her brother.
