Intent: To create an effective anti-tank droid, with the capabilities of still providing ground support against troops when needed, for the CIS.
Development Thread: If Necessary
Manufacturer: The Commerce Guild
Model: OG-11
Affiliation: The CIS
Modularity: No
Production: Mass-Produced
Material: Most of the moving components are made up of Durasteel, but the main bulb, uses a mixture of Titanium for increased durability. The droid runs on an insular Chemical reactor. Three seperate Power cells are also in place as well for the weapons.
Classification: Fourth Degree
Weight: 30 Tons
Height: 7.32 Meters
Movement: Quadrupedal
Armaments: The OG-11 has three main weapons. The first two are the most notable. A pair of twin Gatling lasers. Made to mostly deal with vehicles, they can also still throw a decent punch at troops. As well on top of its head it has a dish style laser. This weapon is much more maneuverable and is meant to actually deal with troops.
Misc. Equipment: Standard military droid sensors, and programming.
Strengths: Versatile- Perhaps the biggest strength of the Spider droid is it's over-all versatility. This is because it has both Anti-vehicle Gatling lasers, but also a single anti-infantry dish laser for self-protection.

Fairly maneuverable- Because of the way its legs work, these droid has a mostly easy time traversing most terrain. Being able to climb up cliff-sides, or through enemy entrenchments.

Weaknesses: Reactive Core- Perhaps it's biggest weakness is its core, the big bulb. That is where its brains are and all for its power. A well place shot through the titanium protecting and and pop goes the weasel. The Spider droid was never known for its subtle destruction either, generally causing a fairly sizable explosion to anyone close to it at it's destruction. (It should be noted not all shots to the core will due this just most.)

Single Point of Weakness- The Core fits here, but there is one other. If one can manage to shoot one of it's legs off, or disable a single leg generally the droid will collapse on itself. If it doesn't have it's core crushed in the process it can still fire from this, but still that shot would be coming from a droid flat on the ground with maybe only one armament left and possibly even all of its sensors being covered.

AntiAir- It lacks any and all anti-air capabilities, unless said aircraft flies with range of any of his weapons.

Description: The OG-11 is an interesting droid. To the untrained it may seem like an awkward looking vehicle but, there is no driver in there, only military droid programming. It's original model was developed during the Clone Wars for much the same purpose as the current Commerce Guild is producing it for today. To be a very good Anti-Vehicle walker, with some defenses against anti-troops. As well for a fairly versatile droid that can traverse most terrains. Now onto the weaponry.

First let's talk about the big ones, the two Gatling lasers strapped to its bottom half. They are attached to a spherical port allowing a small amount of movement to the left, right, and down. It could possibly move a few inches up but for the most part they are locked in a fairly compact half circle. They are designed the be vehicle shredders plain and simple. Able to rip out hundreds of powered laser shots within a few seconds. The accuracy on them isn't the best for troops, but can still work against them. Again though the poor accuracy isn't much of a problem for them as long as they go for most vehicles seeing as how most vehicles tend to be larger than their users. They are both powered by a combination of the droids internal reactor, but also their own personalized power cells.

Now its second weapon is meant as a personal defense but can also be used for support, that being its homing dish laser on top of its bulb. This weapon has full 360 degree movement and can shoot a very powerful sustained laser beam, that lasts for a good 3-4 seconds or so before having to cool down. It serves the purpose to remove close infantry attackers to the walker. This as well is powered by its own power cell. There is also a small visual sensor on the weapon as well allowing for full 360 degree vision when needed.

Onto the Bulb itself. On the front of the Bulb is where all the main sensors are. It's main vision interface unit, vocalization units, and so forth. The Bulb itself can move itself up and down as well adding even more movement. The legs are run by varies electro-mechanicel actuators that all feedback to the main droid processing unit. Two at each of their positioning points, to include all joints and weapon/bulb movement points. The varies points of movement as said previously allow the Spider Droid to move through most terrains with each. Allowing it climb up mostly vertical spaces, or through swampy regions.

Now one might ask what are the weaknesses of such a creation and well there are quite a few. For one His anti-air capabilities are lacking. A good flyby attack run could easily immobilize the spider droid. As well both its core and legs are weak points. It requires all four legs for proper movement so the loss of one could cause the entire thing to literally just collapse. And the core uses some pretty volatile reactions to power the droid. That is the reason why A toucher metal is used for the core, as a good powerful shot through it, and into it's power supply could cause a boom which could cause damage to nayone really close to the droid, and of course that isn't including when the droid falls possibly crushing those close to it.

Overall though the droid is a fairly reliable droid for what its made for. Anti-Vehicles.
