The morning sun rose over Avalonia and decided to seep through the cracks of a stray curtain. Instead of warming the pillow or the floor of the large bedroom, it shone its hellish, bright warmth on the face of Viers Connory.

Usually, Viers was already up, having run around most of the city to burn off any early energy she had. Even though she wasn't active within any semblance of her order or doing whatever she often did, she still remained fit.

It lingered in her mind what she could do. But that was a conversation she would have with the Princess later. More often than not, Lucy needed the Monk, and Viers always obliged.

This morning was different, vastly different. Viers squinted as the light burst through the smallest crack in the curtains. Her arms didn't block anything, nor did her third arm…

Her third arm?

Viers blinked, the morning grogginess fading from her mind as she looked at the slender arm that had been wrapped around her. She settled back into the soft pillow and looked up at the familiar ceiling. It was only familiar when she was hanging out with Lucy; it was not familiar when waking up to it.

She remained quiet, listening to the gentle exhale of the girl beside her.

Oh.

Eyes returned to the ceiling as she watched it. So last night was real, everything… all of it.

She counted on her fingers how long they had been together, from her understanding of what it was like to be together. The more her thoughts spiraled, the more she felt that budding tug at the core of her chest. Lucy was a constant thought, a reason that she paused and took a moment to breathe.

All she ever wanted was to be near the girl, to hear the sound of her working, the soft sigh when she figured something out, and the way her smile would light up when she showed Viers a new creation.

All of those moments, all of them made her chest tight, and made her want to explode into something. Viers could never really put her finger on it, but the wedding had made the Monk realize just how important Lucy was to her.

Exhaling, she could feel something new lingering in the back of her mind, pulling her to look towards the woman she had just proposed to the night before.

Oh, yeah…

No, she had no idea what it meant, but it made the Princess… Her Princess happy.

"Lucy?" She whispered as she rotated and let the tips of her fingers brush back strands of dark brunette hair from her face.

"Lucy? Are you awake?"

Lucy slept deeply, exhaustion from the night before finally claiming her. The reception, the vows, the music, and then everything that followed, had settled into her bones.

She felt the faint stirrings of Viers beside her.

Beside her.

That was new.

Even half-asleep, the thought registered somewhere warm and quiet in her mind. Lucy shifted beneath the quilted covers, drawing them higher over her shoulder as the cool morning air brushed against her skin. In that hazy space between dreaming and waking, she was aware only of contentment.

She was happy, as far as her drifting consciousness could tell.

Fragments of the night before flickered through her thoughts. Chandeliers. The city skyline. Viers' voice, low and certain. The weight of words spoken without hesitation.

I love you.

She turned slowly onto her side, facing Viers now. Sunlight poured through the window in bold streaks, forcing her to squint as her eyes opened fully. The brightness felt intrusive compared to the softness of the moment.

"Viers," she murmured, the name spoken not as a question but as recognition. Sleep still clung to her voice, low and roughened at the edges.

She shifted closer without thinking, closing the small distance between them as if it had never existed. One hand drifted lazily against the mattress, finding warmth.

The night before had sealed something, hadn't it?

They had said words. Serious words. The kind that carried weight and consequence. The kind that were not taken back.

Lucy understood consequence.

She had rather liked this one.

"Still early, isn't it?" she asked softly, blinking against the light. Her voice was calmer now, though still touched by sleep. "We could sleep more… unless you're hungry."

A faint hint of amusement ghosted across her expression.

"Food may be inevitable."

Hearing her name felt different. There was a hum, a vibration to the way Lucy said it that made it feel more than a name. She didn't answer, not yet, wanting to relish in the moment. Everything that had happened, every breath, turned the lock to her future. Viers had always been drawn to Lucy, ever since that day when she had found her under the table.

A passing moment, one that could have been with anyone — but it was with her. Viers could still remember forgetting that she was in the middle of eating — finding herself admiring the way Lucy watched, amused. That moment felt like a lifetime ago, but Viers could remember every detail as if it were yesterday. But that's how every moment with Lucy felt, even if Viers struggled to remember — she always remembered Lucy.

Lucy moved closer, and Viers welcomed the warmth the girl offered. They had hugged before, but this was again different, a good different.

Viers didn't respond; she listened and smiled when Lucy remarked on breakfast or sleeping in. While the Corellian was hungry, she didn't want to leave this small bubble of theirs. The rest of the galaxy didn't matter anymore; it was just them — here and now.

"We can stay in bed a bit longer…" Viers smiled, "It is pretty early still."

Carefully, she threaded just the tips of her fingers through Lucette's soft hair, remembering the touch from the night before. She hesitated just for a moment, trying to comprehend what they had done. All she knew at the end of it was that they were closer in a way that she had always wanted — without realizing it.

Viers paused for a moment and kissed just above Lucy's brow. It felt necessary for the situation. The need to touch and be close to the woman was unyielding.

More time passed as she lay there, keeping Lucy close. The early morning faded into a proper time, and Viers slowly untangled herself. Sitting up, she paused, keeping the duvet and sheets close, the tattoos and branding on her back hummed lightly with the Force as she contemplated.

"You know," She started, staring off towards the windows of the room. "I was serious last night…" While she was, Viers still didn't understand the weight of it all.

"I do love you a lot. I know I'm not always the smartest, but I want to make you happy." Nodding, she looked over her shoulder, sheepishly, as her mind wandered to the night before. A sudden wave of crimson washed over her skin as she blinked.

"By the way... Did we…" Viers cleared her throat, "Last night…?"

Another pause as her eyes darted around at the evidence of everything that occurred.

"Was it good? I've never done that before…" Her mouth opened, pausing again before another flurry of questions.

"Do you still like me? Are you okay?"
