OUT OF CHARACTER INFORMATION

GENERAL INFORMATION
  • Unit Name: Octarchy Officers
  • Affiliation: Octarchy Covenant, Covenant Member Worlds
  • Classification: Commander
  • Equipment: Standard issue blasters and Duraplast Armor

COMBAT INFORMATION
  • Availability: Uncommon
  • Deployment: Minor
  • Strengths & Weaknesses:
  • Strengths:Hold the Line: Octarchy Officers are trained and deployed to draw a line in the sand, and hold it until reinforcements arrive.
  • Defensive Training: The Octarchy Officers are trained to fight defensively, using their surroundings to their advantage.
  • Urban Training: As they are a defensive force, training is centered around urban environments.
  • Supplementary Force: The Octarchy Officers are intended to work as a supplementary force along side existing defenses
  • Commanding Officer: This unit is a commander, and thus able to better assess the battlefield, and reassign units as necessary
  • Tactical Training: The Officers undergo more training than the average unit, and are given the freedom to make tactical decisions should the need arise.
[*]Weaknesses:
  • Urban Focus: The OI trains exclusively for Urban scenarios, meaning that other terrain may prove difficult for them.
  • Supplementary Force: The OI are not trained to win wars on their own, merely serving as a delaying tactic while a dedicated military force sends help.
  • Limited deployment: For every five Octarchy Infantry units, only a single Officer is deployed as squad leaders.
Description: The Octarchy Officers are established as Squad leaders for Octarchy Infantry, and are deployed along side them to help coordinate forces on the ground. Each Officer constitutes the leader of a six man squad, and is authorized to do whatever is necessary to ensure the mission objective and his squad's survival (In that order) should he or she be cut off from the chain of command.

Not possessing superior weapons or armor to the standard infantry, the Officers were granted more training than the standard units offering a slight increase in effectiveness over the standard units. When off duty, they wear the same security uniforms as the infantry, with rank badges to reflect their higher standing.
