GENERAL INFORMATION
Ochi is an Atoan Jedi Padawan of the Jedi Order. After losing his dear friend and the Jedi Master who took up his instruction in an attack by a Sith Lord, Ochi looks to complete his training under another, all the while harboring the secret goal of one day finding and ending his late and first master’s killer.

Birth & FamilyHISTORY
Ochi, the seventeen year old Atoan Jedi Padawan, was born on the habitable moon Yusara IV. His father, Piton, and mother, Sathi, managed a small tibanna mining operation on the gas giant Yusara in the Atoan system. Ochi was, and would be, their first and only child as the sadness the force sensitive Sathi experienced when giving Ochi up to the Jedi was too great for her to endure again.
Despite the sadness and pain, Sathi knew very early that she would give her son, Ochi, to the Jedi. While pregnant she experienced prophetic dreams and visions of the boy becoming a great Jedi hero, one that would save many lives. As much as she and Piton wanted the boy at their side, they didn't want to keep him from the future they'd witnessed. They gave Ochi to the Jedi around the age of five.
To this day Ochi returns to the Atoan system to see his parents much more frequently than most Jedi do or encourage.
Jedi Training: The Early Days
In the early days of Ochi's Jedi training, he found himself struggling with life at the temples. He missed his parents severely and the Atoan's preference toward their own language did him no favors in gaining favor among his peers. During the youngling stage, Ochi's ability for Psychometry was discovered and fostered. He engaged in special lessons taught by other similarly gifted Jedi in the Order.
Eventually Ochi assimilated into the life he'd lived at the Jedi Temples. He made a few friends, and learned that it was possible to make more. He didn't but he knew it was possible. Ochi was quieter and more reserved than his fellow Jedi initiates. He had strong opinions but often kept them to himself or with others he trusted deeply.
As an initiate on his way to padawan, Ochi excelled in combat training and the more diplomatic teachings of the Jedi. Diplomacy and History were among his favorite lessons to engage with, in addition to his ongoing training of psychometry.
Jedi Training: A Padawan's Loss
At an exhibition that put potential padawans in front of interested-in-teaching Jedi Knights and Masters, Ochi had made a fast friend in the Twi'lek Jedi Knight Hani Neboe. Hani had their own Jedi talent in creating lightning without the dark side. They attempted to teach each other their own unique abilities with little success. The lack of progress didn't stop them from trying as they continued to grow their relationship and eventually became Master & Padawan.
Under Hani's instruction, Ochi flourished. His skills grew exponentially over the years and he was making excellent progress in his quest of ascending to the rank of Knight, at least until the pair went on a mission to the new ring world known as Techran. What was supposed to be a hostage negotiation with a Hutt became a trap orchestrated by a Sith Lord. Ochi never got the Sith Lord's name but he did watch the Sith Lord cut his Master down. Ochi, who had become attached to his Master Hani Neboe, attacked the Sith Lord with a torrential fury of lightsaber strikes, but he was no match. The Sith Lord punished him with little effort and gave him to the Hutts as a gift for helping with his Jedi trap. When the Sith left, Ochi escaped imprisonment from the Hutts and returned to the Jedi Temples and shared the events on Techran with the Council Masters.
They could sense Ochi's trauma and volatile emotions that came in with the death of his master. Several Jedi suggested he travel among the temples and meditate on his feelings and future. He did so. For over a year he did his best to process the image of his Master's death, and to overcome the knowledge that Master Neboe's killer was still out there. His best was not good enough.
Ochi still struggles with it, but he knows that if he wants to do anything about it he has to get stronger, grow, and ascend to the rank of Jedi Knight. Ochi looks for a new Master among the Jedi Order of the High Republic.

APPEARANCE
With a brilliant and bright head of red-orange hair, Ochi sticks out almost wherever he goes. His strong jawline, and handsome face also turns heads, while his cybernetic eye and the star-like tattoo that suffocates it gives him an intimidating edge. His resting face does little to ingratiate him to whatever local populace might be around, but a single smile can set them at ease.
Ochi is young, strong, and his face makes him appear more pensive and calculating than he actually is. His Jedi training shows in the way he carries himself. Too proper and deliberate in his movements, in these ways he is marked as one raised in the Jedi Temples.

PERSONALITY
Ochi is not one to stray far from reality. He is a truthseeker and calls out dishonesty when he sees it. He also isn’t one to bite his tongue when amongst friends, although he tries to act with more reservation around strangers. Ochi is nothing if not transparent and like many passionate teenagers will let it be known when he is uncomfortable or inconvenienced, usually in the form of sarcastic remarks. Ochi has some rough spots that need to be ironed out if he wishes to ascend to the rank of Jedi Knight, and he knows this, but he also knows he has some smooth spots.
Like many Jedi, Ochi is naturally helpful, friendly, and selfless. While he is prone to attachment, he can also display great patience when dealing with uncomfortable or threatening situations. He takes his time when problem solving and does his best to find the right course of action. Ochi is confident, headstrong, and adaptable, but more than anything else he is a sponge constantly learning from his experiences, for better or worse.
