Description: The HX 172 is a heavy, handheld scatter blaster that packs a hell of a punch. A typical blaster can manage around 50 shots on a single power pack, and each bolt is demonstrably more powerful that the equivalent from an old fashion black powder weapon. The weapons works on the principle of consolidating the power into a reduced number of shots to give phenomenal close range stopping power in a compact form

With each shot, the Occluder fires sixteen small bolts, each with around 1/4 the power of a typical pistol blaster bolt, but still very high compared to a even a high calibre black powder pistol. These spread out in a fairly evenly distributed, but slightly random pattern. Typically the cones of fire will lead to a 2m dispersion at 30m. Beyond this range it will be unlikely to cause lethal damage, except with a fortunately landing boltlette.

At close range however, it has distinct advantages. Whilst the pistol is heavy, it has very little recoil as almost no momentum is imparted into the bolts as they are almost massless. At 10m a 60cm dispersion of boltlettes will rip an unarmed target to shreds. At any ranges less than a full on hit from the weapon is liable to tear through heavy armour and a point black range strike would be devastating. The spread of bolts make it impossible to block with a single straight lightsaber.

The Occluder has a relatively low rate of fire, due to its size and power. It emits a small hum after each shot and takes a second to prepare for another shot. For a blaster it has a low capacity, only ten shots. It also requires high quality gas, cheap products will often lead to serious malfunctions. For this reason it is seen less in criminal circles that would be expected given its nature.

Its stun setting is useful, but difficult to use in a crowded setting due to the spread.

SUGGESTIONS
This thing fits in the higher end of Scatter Blasters ranges that I found. Since its pistol sized could you drop it to Effective Range 30 Meters.
