I am reaching out to gauge some interest on a little side-project I got going. There are a few contributors who are supporting this, and this Faction/Community will tie into The Guild: A community within Chaos that promotes Royal/Planetary Government Roleplay and doesn't have a major effect on the larger map game.
So, here is a bit about the project and such. Alot of this is WIP. We have a plethora of other docs, material, graphics and such which are not going to be listed/displayed until I have like a solid foundation.
Queen Solara Zirconea, known as The Queen. The demigod leader of the Forsaken and the Empress of the Obsidian Empire.
Council of Elders, three individuals who are shrouded in mystery. Formed by three of the Forsaken's most wise sages, they guide the Queen in her decisions and at times - go against her judgement. One Councilor in particular, is rumored to be working with Scilla, The Heretic.
Scilla, The Heretic: Leader of the Bloodwashed, a group of religious zealots worship the Living Force over their Queen. They are thrown to the outskirts of the cities, or no longer live within the Alerian system. Those who have left Aries IX and it's sister planet are called Drifters normally, but at times can be called Heretics.
The Forsaken: They are an ancient species who are devoted to their Queen, who goes by various titles throughout their society. The Forsaken speak Xaresh natively, but some are educated to speak Galactic Basic. Some scholars speak more than this, as it would be in any society. The Queen is aware of many languages, but considers many beneath her station.
Forsaken society is female dominated; they are considered the intellectual superiors and possess the greater magical power. While females are greatly outnumbered by males, females are found more often in positions of authority. Usually females are more proficient in the ways of magic, while the males are warriors, but there are a few males that are deadly in both close combat, and spell casting. The civilization of the Forsaken has extensive codes, laws, and ceremonies. Factions, some millennia old, work continuously in bids for power. Males can rise to prominence and even lead communities, but there is a limit to what they can achieve. The only exception being the Council of Elders, select few males are appointed to the Council by the Queen herself.
Forsaken culture is complex and is caste based. A clear delineation exists between the sexes. Male Forsaken are larger, more muscular and serve as soldiers, and guardians. Female Forsaken are slender, with smaller frames and rely more on magic and serve as politicians and positions of power. It is noted that Male Forsaken tend to have lower chances to be Force Sensitive, thus, they are in "lesser" positions.
Inherently, the Forsaken are neutral evil. They seek the blessings of their queen, one familiar to history: The Queen struck a pact with a stranger shrouded in darkness, this pact, committed the Forsaken to the darkness, and this stranger presented them a holocron - one which saw the brightest of the Jedi, fall horribly to the darkness. Through the Holocron, they had mastered the tools to create life and death through rituals and Sith magic until a day came where the system was shuttered and no longer responding to inbound traffic. In 1000 B.B.Y, the Forsaken and the Empire they served, fell silent to the Galaxy at large.
The Obsidian Empire: An ancient Empire which existed within the Unknown Regions of space that held off advances from both the Old Republic and it's successor, the Galactic Empire. As time went on and the influence of governments swayed back and forth, the Alerian system remained untouched. The Obsidian Empire built in secret, over the past thousand years.
While there are a few roles that are within the Obsidian Empire (At the moment.), the intent is to expand the lore and knowledge beyond that. This is just a base point for people. We may one day expand to a Major Faction but that is not in the immediate future. I would also encourage anyone to make a Forsaken, once the Codex entry is complete.
