Description:
The OBL-4 Sniper Drone is the first drone created by Astraeus Industrial that functions on the ground as an independent operative.

While the OBL-3 can function alone, the OBL-4 is specifically designed to function as an independent operative. This means that it is slightly more intelligent than the other drones of its series and also means that it is capable of learning both from its enemies and its own experiences. This learning function however is not as developed as say a sentient creatures learning functions and remains rudimentary at best.

The OBL-4 like its cousins is made almost entirely out of Durasteel.

This means that the droid itself isn't all that well protected. It lacks shielding and its armor is quite light, though it is capable of taking more than a few blaster shots the OBL-4 can in fact be destroyed by grenades and other small explosives. This however was deemed necessary due to the purpose that the OBL-4 actually serves.

As its name implies the OBL-4 is in fact a Sniper Drone. It's function is incredibly simple, the drone is dropped near a location, then it seeks out an appropriate hiding spot, hides there, then begins to acquire targets and assess which would cause the most damage to the enemy. These assessments are based on pre-programmed parameters though can be updated with the droids own findings in the field. Once the OBL-4 finds an acceptable target it begins to open fire.

It's Heavy Long Range Blaster Cannon gives the OBL-4 the capability of destroying anything from infantry personal to light vehicles. It should be noted however that the OBL-4 once it fires is very likely to be discovered and eventually destroyed, as such the drones are not really designed to keep army units or such pinned down for a prolonged period of time, but instead are designed to take out key targets quickly.

This is not to say however that the OBL-4 can't last longer as some of the drones are capable of finding excellent hiding places and certain environments simply lend themselves better to concealment.

As stated before, the OBL-4 is rarely deployed in groups. Usually these units are dropped individually along a path that an enemy is known to take and then are used as a stalling tactic.
