  • Weight: 2 kg
SPECIAL FEATURES
  • 'Singing' blade.
  • Lightsaber resistant.
  • Deflects blasterfire.
  • Can ground lightning.
  • Very sharp.
  • Focus for Darkside abilities.
Strengths:
  • Sith Blade: As a sith blade, the alchemized metal is able to block and deflect both lightsabers and blaster bolts, as well as ground sith lightning, storing it until released via contact with another object, and finally acting as a focusing catalyst for darkside energies of the user, augmenting their abilities by offering a means through which to focus the power.
  • Singing Blade: During the Alchemizing process, Ariealla sang to her sword of the blood and death it would reap, slowly infusing the weapon with the vibration of her voice, right into its essence. This allows the blade to 'sing' as it cuts through the air, an unnatural sound that can put someone on edge.
  • Thrusting Sword: Designed as a thrusting sword, the blade is very easy to use when puncturing a target.
Weaknesses:
  • Force Light: Keep out of reach of jedi, as Force Light can break the bonds of Sith Alchemy, returning the blade to a weaker, normal state.
  • Rapier: While the edge is still sharp and able to cut well with its alchemized enhancements, the blade is clearly meant to deliver thrusting attacks to kill its victims. As such, while it can cut flesh with a little effort, it will find the task of lopping off an arm difficult, if not impossible, compared to other blades. It will cut flesh well enough, but anything harder poses an immense task.
  • An odd choice of Hilt: The design of the hilt, one half with a hand guard and half free, is longer than one expects with a rapier. While this makes it possible to use in more traditional, two handed sword styles, it makes the weapon's one handed styles harder to use, and leaves the lower hand open without alchemized metals to protect it.
  • The Force is Everything: When in the presence of force-nullifying effects, the weapon loses its special properties, making it a heavy sword and nothing more.
DESCRIPTION

Even in the days of lightsabers, sith blades hold a special status to those of the darkside. Weapons twisted by sith magic to become icons of their power, even more so perhaps than in the olden days of the order. Though a secretive practice, Sith Alchemy produces powerful weapons in the modern era, weapons that show the might of the Sith has yet to fade. This particular blade, however, is not one of these, but instead is of the old blood, the old practices. This ancient blade, cared for through centuries, belongs to the ancient sith assassin known as 'The Songstress', or to those who know her secrets, the blade of Ariealla Vareldi. Forged in a time long forgotten, it has been a constant companion, used to fell Jedi and Sith alike in its many lifetimes of use, constantly cared for to ensure it never became a liability.

Though a practitioner of Juyo, and more familiar with sweeping strikes akin to Shii-Cho, Ariealla had a fascination with the death cries of her victims, dubbing them the most beautiful songs she could ever hear. As such, the blade is focused on thrust attacks, which can be used to end her victim's suffering or prolong it as she pleased, something that she often used to produce the sweet notes she lived to hear in her youth. The violent form demanded the weapon be durable despite this, and was designed to be fully capable of cutting should the need arise. As a display of her power and status, the weapon's hilt features many precious metals and two halves of a sapphire embedded into it, making it appear the weapon of royalty despite its blood drenched past. The final design choice of the blade came as it was forged, with Ariealla singing into the blade, infusing it with the vibrations of her voice to produce sweet harmonious sounds through the air it cut through.

The only portion of the weapon not belonging to the old days is the blue leather carefully crafted and wrapped around the weapon's hilt to reduce shock and allow a firm grip. Beyond that, the slender, ornate blade is Ariealla's long standing symbol of power, and her everlasting presence in the galaxy.

Nimble: Given the weapon's design more resembles a rapier than a broadsword, it is more nimble and graceful than other, thicker, heavier blades. It is noticeably easier to manipulate.

Weight: 2 kg
  • 2 kg is a lot for a rapier. While yes, they're usually rather quick, adding another kilogram to their normal weight is going to impact this rather severely.
  • Sith Swords are many things, but agile, they are not. Remove this, please.
  1. Please also add that the blade would lose its special abilites if exposed to Force-nullifying effects such as Ysalamiri, Voidstone, etc.
